By Kevin R. Dodson

Travel has developed from being a simple necessity to a method of life. Today travel can be what you want it to be- intrepid, romantic, family orientated or just about anything more. These travel trends change annually with the varying mood of travelers. Here, we've got a look at travel trends that are sure to get the most votes this year.

One of the most primary trends seen in the travel industry this year is undoubtedly the inclination toward more budget orientated trips. Given the status of the economy triggered by the recession, more and more people are choosing to travel cost effectively. Apart from travelling to low cost destinations, folks will also indubitably look for free extras like complimentary gift vouchers, free stays and dining, spa credit etc.

Its time to switch to travelling by the trains as the air fare may not always be extraordinarily inexpensive. Travelling by train offers a dual benefit. One available it fits well into the budget. On the other hand it helps you see the places more closely that falls in way to your destination. The trend of train travel has in fact become very popular in Europe already.

Adventure travelling is also set to reach new heights on the commend meter with more and more people preferring to coarse it out in natural settings instead of prohibiting themselves in the walls of a 5 star resort. They prefer to get closer to nature and constantly go for destination which offers jungle safaris and the like. Luxury safaris are also anticipated to be in demand since it will permit travelers to enjoy nature with the highest degree of comfort.

Another travel trend that is perhaps going to become notable in 2010 is visiting places which are lesser known. The trend of visiting exotic and popular locations like Cape Town , Venice, London, Paris, and Rome is pass. The present year is going to concentrate on lesser known travel destinations. It means that people would opt for visiting smaller towns and cities and towns of the distant lands. It is actually likely that states like Gulf States and India are going to become rage for the travel enthusiasts in 2010.

Another probable travel trend of 2010 is eco travel. The strategy of travel which is in the sync with the safety of the environment has always been preferred. in 2010 this trend is going to witness another upsurge. The need to save the environment is being fast realized by many these days. It is because of this that many people are selecting vacations that can be safe for the environment. You would like to shell out more cash for this option.

One rather more likely travel trend for 2010 is customized holidays. All you need is some moolah and you can get your vacations custom made as per your likings. You can include things like high speed auto tours, niche ship cruises, heli-ski trips and lots of other things of your interest. Anything to everything that centers on your travelling can be customised. You can also customize your accommodation and your means for travelling too.

If you observe closely you may notice that these travel trends is favorable for all. These trends are pocket friendly for those who can't afford much. Or these trends are very luxurious for those who can easily dish out money. Choose your pick and be assured that you're going to enjoy your travel to the hilt.

Accommodation In Havana

By Jose Maurette Garces

If you are planning on going to Havana then finding a great deal on hotels might be a lot easier than you think. Havana hotels are actually less expensive than most American hotels and many offer the same features as you would find at home.

Some of these hotels can be found right on the beach while others are centered more toward sightseeing and night life. Of course doing both can be easy and some may offer buses for going into the city if you want. You can find accommodations in just about any area of Havana you like.

Pizza seems to be a popular choice for a lot of tourists. Many reviews claim the food tends to be bland and lacking in spice. Of course personal tastes play a big role and you may find the food to be to your liking. At least try out the food and see for yourself rather than dismissing it off hand.

If you are on a tight budget then a vacation in Havana may be just the thing for you. Of course you should keep in mind that you tend to get what you pay for. If you are paying excessively cheap prices then you may end up with accommodations not exactly to your liking.

With all of the accommodations to choose from it may be hard to know which will be your best deal. Look for rooms you can live with and a price you can afford. Keep in mind that this is a foreign country and monetary systems are different.

Havana has a lot to offer year round. This could be the perfect holiday for you and your family. You should be aware that there are some cultural differences though. Havana hotels can be booked through a travel agent or online.

Choose Small Group Cuba Tours

By Jose Maurette Garces

Cuba is a country that very few people know anything about because of the travel restrictions that were in place for so many years. Now the United States has lifted those restrictions, and Americans have permission to travel there. As a result, there are some exciting, small group Cuba tours available for tourists.

If you want to see the real Cuba, take a small group tour. Not only will you visit places as a group, but there will be free time to see and do things that you are interested in. The tour guide can arrange for you to participate in local activities at local prices.

Many people return from tours disappointed because they didn't have an opportunity to interact with the local people. They normally only see places that are set up for tourists, and return home knowing very little about the local customs. Small group tours in Cuba is not like that. The tour guides are local Cubans, and most nights will be spent in the home of a Cuban family.

These are not luxury tours, but the transport and accommodations are comfortable and clean. Since the groups are small, you will get to know the other travelers better. The tour guide will accompany you through the entire tour.

Just to give you an idea of what a small group tour is like, let's take a look at the Western Cuba Tour. It lasts for 8 days, and it can accommodate between two and twelve tourists. The average size of the tour group is seven. The first day you will arrive in Havana where the time is yours to spend as you want.

You will visit two other places on this tour where you will have the opportunity to hike, explore caves, go bicycling, snorkel off one of Cuba's best beaches and go horseback riding. You will be able to see Cuban wildlife as you travel. Every night will be spent in the home of a Cuban family. Day eight is similar to the first day. You may leave Cuba at whatever time is convenient for you.

Small group Cuba tours are a great way to have an informal, relaxed vacation. You will make lifelong friends, and there will be an opportunity to interact with the Cuban people. This is the best way to see Cuba as it is.

Planning You Family Vacation

By Thomas Clarke

Summer is approaching quickly and many are looking to make vacation plans before there is no longer any flights or rental vehicles available. If you are considering this then you may want to consider finding a cheap car rental. You can find some of the best deals on auto rentals by following these simple tips:

1. Before you rent with a company sign up for their frequent travelers plan, as this will give you discounts and information on the promotions that are being offered. Once you receive your discount call around to other rental companies, as many of them ted to honor competitor promotions and offered discounts.

2. Look online for coupons or discounts. Sometimes you can locate them on coupon sites and other informational websites.

3. Discount travel sites, such as Expedia ad Travelocity, offer the best rates available. When doing this, however, it is important that you check with the actual company to make sure you are in fact getting the best price that the company can offer.

4. Be flexible. This is the key to truly getting any type of travel discounts. The more you can shift things around the better deals you can find. Keep in mind that many car rental companies actually charge you less if you take the vehicle for longer. Weekend and week long rentals tend to be the best overall deals.

5. Always rent a car that is one grade lower then what you are looking for. For example, if you are wanting to rent a luxury car, instead of paying the extra money reserve a mid size vehicle. When you go to pick up your rental, you can then ask if they could upgrade you to a luxury. Many car rental companies will then offer you the upgrade for only a few dollars extra, as that will give them more money for a car that would not have even been rented.

Best Family Vacation Ideas

By Thomas Clarke

When you are deciding on where to go this year for your family vacation, it can be a very difficult, long and time consuming task. For parents they may want to visit a destination that is relaxing and romantic, however their children have other ideas. Many hear that Las Vegas is the perfect destination for a family vacation, but you have never been more misinformed. In fact, Las Vegas is the least family friendly place to visit and should be avoided when you are traveling with children.

So what does that leave, if you can't go somewhere relaxing, romantic or to Las Vegas, where do you take the family? Well, there are plenty of places. Let's assume that going overseas is not an option, for simplicity's sake. That leaves you with fifty great states, cruises and even Canada, which contrary to popular belief, does have things to do for fun.

The obvious places are easy, the beach or mountains. Depending on where you live, there is the option of visiting the ocean along the east or west coast and along the Gulf of Mexico. For people who already live near the ocean, the mountains can be more of a draw. The Smokey Mountains for the eastern US and the Rockies for the west are great destinations. California even has its own range for people that live there. Spending a week in the mountains or at the beach can be a great vacation and there are so many things to do from skiing, water or snow, swimming, hiking and biking, to scuba diving and camping.

For people who want a little more structure and want all of their vacation in an easy to open container, a theme park or a cruise is a great option. These all inclusive vacations are easy to plan and easy to keep the agenda straight. You know exactly where you are going to be each day and you even know when and where you will eat dinner each night. It can take some of the stress out of a vacation, which is supposed to be relaxing to begin with.

These are all great family things to do and there should be something for everybody to do. Planning is easy as well, with just a few clicks of a mouse you can have everything done.

Australia Most Popular Visitor Location

By Matt Fuller

Every year millions of people flock to one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world - Australia. There are so many great reasons to go to this southern continent and country, and so many wonderful things to do there as a visitor. The people who live there are fascinating and welcoming, and tourism in Australia is alive and well!

When people go on vacation, it's usually an opportunity for them to get away from the dull daily living they endure most of the year. How people enjoy their vacation time is different, though and Australia is prepared to cater to all wants and desires. Some people want to be taken on guided tours through rough country, and have every wild creature pointed out to them. Others just want the chance to relax far away from their cares and concerns. This country caters to both types of tourist.

Getting away is a wonderful thing to do at least once a year. When some people who are suffering through the drudgery of winter plan their vacation, they're looking for the warmest spot around. Sunny surf and warm sandy beaches call to them. Australia can brag about having fifty thousand kilometers of coastline, and that means at least ten thousand beaches, all waiting for skimpy bikinis and sun-tan oil! The ocean's close proximity contributes to the Australian laid back lifestyle.

For those who are looking less for a beach and more for a pool, Australia has wonderful resorts to choose from. Many hotels are luxurious and provide full service, while some resorts are actually more for privacy and winding down, de-stressing. Byron at Byron for example has private apartment style rooms that are a short walk from the actual main complex. Their facilities include five 'treatment' rooms and Vichy type showers, giving the over-worked a chance to relax and be catered to.

There is no doubt that ever so many people come to Australia for the natural treasures, many of which have been protected by being declared world heritage sites. Ayers Rock, more exotically known as Uluru, its Aboriginal name, is a giant sandstone formation almost everyone in the world recognizes. With deep caves and waterholes, people can visit and view the ancient paintings left by the first people of the land. Or, at a place like Henbury Meteorites Conversation Reserve, the more scientifically inclined tourists can view a landscape that looks like it's straight from the moon. Over five thousand years ago, a meteor exploded above Australia, leaving twelve impact craters in this park for modern tourists to wonder over.

World heritage sites abound in Australia, like Barron Gorge National Park. The amazing waterfalls are best viewed during the rainy season, when the rivers are overflowing with clean water. Tropical rainforests are everywhere, including Flecker Botanical Gardens, which easily boasts a hundred different varieties of the palm plant. The footpaths that trail through these gardens are peaceful and inviting, and give the land a chance to show off the rare and exotic foliage protected here.

Scuba diving and snorkeling are of course the main lure for Australian visitors. The Great Barrier Reef, which is actually visible from space, draws many all year long. Large portions of the reef are protected from human encroachment but there are still select spots for tourists to rent a boat and go exploring. Melbourne, a city on the edge of the land, can brag about helicopter rides over the reef for purchase by tourists. Visitors to Australia can also take sunrise and sunset hot air balloon rides over this modern city itself, offering a bird's eye view of the amazing landscape and architecture.

Australia provides every opportunity the experienced or inexperienced tourist might wish for. From sophisticated hotels to luxury resorts to outback excursions, visitors to this vast country, the world's sixth largest, can find everything and anything they might want to do on vacation. Hot nightclubs, conservation areas for backpackers, hotels and shopping, Australia has it all and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.

Who Will I Book My Holiday Villa With - The Owner Or A Reputable Agency? by Helen Cobb

By Helen Cobb

Travel specialist Helen Cobb asks what are the hidden dangers of choosing the cheaper option of booking your holiday rental accommodation through an agency or directly with the owner.

Now here comes the toughest step. Where and with whom do you select you holiday accommodation? The internet over the last 4 years has seen two key sources emerge.

The first is a holiday villa rental agency. A reputable agency ensures that all their properties listed have been inspected and carry a true account of the property and its surroundings.

The other most popular source is to find your property through one of several websites that merely list the owner's properties and you can book through the owner direct. The obvious advantage to you the customer is that you buy direct from the owner which is often cheaper than booking a through an agency.

The author's aim of this article is to make you aware of some of the potential pitfalls when booking direct with an owner and therefore to ensure you're not let down and ruining your hard earned holiday.

Here are some key things to bear in mind when making your choice:

Q. Will an owner be transparent enough to upload pictures of the exterior and/or interior that truly reflect their home?

A. Unfortunately experience has shown clients have turned up at a property they rented direct from an owner and in real life the property looked completely different/worse than the pictures on the internet. They often discover the owner had put for example a picture of reasonable en-suite bathroom but none of the other bathrooms were shown on the website and they were ghastly - Or the furnishings and decor were very "old and tired" and the pictures on the website had been taken a number of years ago.

Q. Do you think the owner will be completely honest and frank in his/her description of the property and state exactly what the property and its locale are like?

A. Unfortunately an all too common scenario is that the property's description has been exaggerated and often key facts have been omitted, such as the property is located under the flight path of an international airport or perhaps a nearby busy railway track or even noisy neighbours!

Q. Is it fair or unreasonable to expect the owner to lay on some key basic services as part of your booking or will you face being greeted by a dark lifeless home and a lengthy instruction manual which you need to sit and read through to discover for yourself how everything works!?

Will you be faced with empty larders and fridge (you might be fortunate and be given a bottle of cheap wine, bread and milk) resulting in you spending the first day of your holiday visiting the local shops do get food and provisions?

A. Reputable agencies will have a "meet and greet" service at the airport and/or at the property. They will provide a personalized tour explaining how things work and provide you with a good back up service during your stay. An advance shopping list can be carried out on your behalf and be delivered and stored for your convenience.

Q. You're been let down by the owner in regards to the holiday home you purchased and want to get some compensation.

A. So many clients when faced with this dilemma find it very difficult to get compensation directly from an owner. The stress and aggravation alone puts many off plus the initial cost and hassle to go to court is often just one step too much for most to bear. However an owner that is registered with a reputable agency is more inclined to co-operate as he will be contractually responsible and accountable by the agency under the contract. A good agent will be worth many bookings and revenue to the owner and it is therefore in the owners interest to "play ball" and recompense the client for any problems.

Also bear in mind if you pay by credit card with an agency (owners will be unlikely to provide this facility) you have the right to complain to your credit card issuer and make a claim against the amount that has been charged against your card. Agencies need good feedback and referrals to survive - owners direct can be more anonymous and are less reliant on word of mouth and referrals.

For the price daily price of a good bottle of wine a day you can reduce the risk of falling foul of these dangers and feel confident that the holiday home you booked is what you will find when you get there!

Helen Cobb is a travel specialist #1 and has been looking after her villa rental customers for over 15 years. Helen and her team at Luxurybreaks #2want to ensure that your next holiday villa rental experience is one to remember for all the RIGHT reasons.

All You Need To Take Note Of About Booking Air Tickets

By Amber Stemme

These days, it's easier to travel by air than by land, therefore it is no surprise that the majority of the people out there like to fly and not go by train or car. Interest Tropical North History

By Jerry Duncan

Captain Cook was the first European to visit Northern Queensland. He was forced to set his damaged vessel, the Endeavor, on there land. However, this area remained a mystery for almost 100 years until other Europeans began to venture north. These expeditions were dangerous and in 1844 Ludwig Leichardt and his group went to venture from Brisbane to Port Essington, most of the men were killed or wounded by the Aboriginal tribes. Then on 1848 Edmund Kennedy tried to venture from Cairns to the top of Cape York. All but two men, Kennedy being on of the two, were killed by the Aboriginal tribe as well.

Northern Queensland found wealth from the 19th to 20th century due to gold mines in the region. What was once a thriving city was now a one road town. Today most of their wealth comes from tourism. People travel here to stay at a hotel on the coastline or to visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Great Barrier Reef.

Queenslands outback region has a strong link with Australians national heritage. the Tree of Knowledge at Barcaldine marks the meeting place of the first Australian Labor Party during the great shearers strike of 1891.The town of Winston is where Banjo Paterson wrote Australians national song Waltzing Matilda' in 1895.Today the vast Outback area is known for agriculture and for gold, silver and iron ore mining

The area north of Cairns is Australians sugar producing cane fields. Cairns are the only city, in Northern Queensland, as this region is sparsely populated. Port Douglas and Mossman are small towns worth visiting however. Other villages to note are Daintree and Cooktown. Cape York Peninsula, one of the last untouched wildernesses in the world, covers 200,000 sq kms. The landscape varies according to the time of year, during the dry winter the rivers are dry and the countryside is bare and arid. During the wet season, November to March makes the landscapes green and the rivers overflowing.

Cairns are well serviced by public transport with regular air, train and coach connections and also have an international airport. North of Port Douglas and the outback region require a car unless you take part in an organized tour.4wd would be advisable and generally Hire Car companies insist on this.

Travel Bags

By Karen Dreyer

Traveling is probably one of the most fantastic and exhilarating activities that you can do. The whole world is practically laid out before you, just waiting to be explored. And what's even greater, no two places are exactly the same. It's a whole new experience with every destination. But traveling can also be problematic, what with the preparations you have to do before you go. It is, therefore, of grave importance that you choose the most appropriate travel bags before you go. You cannot take your entire house with you, after all. And all your comforts have to be packed into a suitcase. It is only right that this suitcase be the best for you.

So, to help you choose, be sure to consider these various factors:

Material

The travel bag's material is of extreme importance because this is what the bag's longevity will depend on. Bags with metal frames may be the most durable of all, but they are also rather weighty. They will cost you a lot when you have them weighed at the airport and they will also be much weightier to lug around. There are materials today that are lightweight and yet strong, so be sure to choose these. The bag's cloth type is also important. Be sure that the cloth does not tear quickly. If possible, find a bag that is water proof, as you don't want your belongings soaked should you find yourself under the rain.

Features

You must also take note of the bag's features. If you often go on long vacations, then it would be better for you to buy large bags with rollers so that you can bring along more things and also find it easier to move from place to place. If you are only going for a short trip or if you want to travel light, though, then a duffel bag may be the best choice. Choose one with many pockets so that you can organize your things properly. Backpacks are also nice, but they're mostly for informal trips. You surely can't use a backpack when you're on a business trip. Another feature that you should watch out for is the expandability of the bag. Some bags have hidden zippers that can be opened for expanded space so that you can accommodate more items. These bags are very useful, especially if your travel plans differ from time to time.

Solana Beach California - Fun Things To Do While Vacationing

By Terry Hunefeld

The little beach-town of Solana Beach is nestled along the Pacific Ocean's sandy coast approximately 22 miles north of the San Diego airport. It's bordered by Cardiff-By-The-Sea on the north, the chic town of Del Mar (and it's horse race track) on the south, the popular Lomas Santa Fe Country Club on the east and, of course, the sparkling Pacific Ocean on the west.

Temperatures average from 60 - 64 sunny degrees in the winter and 76 - 78 balmy but refreshing degrees in the summer. The near perfect weather and 2 miles of coastline result in a kind of paradise - as a result, home prices average more than $1.5 million.

The city is a favorite destination for visitors who enjoy eclectic shops, great dining, golfing, nightlife, bicycling, beach sports and hiking. Every evening finds visitors and locals gathering at Fletcher Cove to enjoy the sunset.

The Cedros Design District is well-known as an enclave of coolness with the quaintness and aura of a European side-street. Here visitors find an enchanting 2 blocks of more than 85 unique and trendy shops: furniture from around the world, out of the ordinary antiques, hand-woven tapestry, charming jewelry, adventure gear, organic restaurants, spas, studios and salons. all coming together to make Cedros one of San Diego's most interesting areas.

Famous in San Diego and throughout Southern California, the Belly Up Tavern in Cedros has a long history of bringing diverse musical acts on an almost nightly basis. It's been voted the best live music establishment in San Diego almost annually by the media and has even been called "one of the hippest and hottest music scenes anywhere on the California coast" by Rolling Stone Magazine.

On Highway 101 you will find the hub of the commuter rail system. Both the Amtrak and San Diego's commuter train, the Coaster, have stops at the station giving easy access to all the communities along the coast without having to chance the notorious southern California highway system.

Every July the local triathlon club hosts a "beach party triathlon" with a quarter mile ocean swim, nine mile bike ride and three mile run. Thousands of people run, ride, swim, watch, participate and have fun with their family and friends.

The city was featured on all the cable news networks a few years ago when it became the first U.S. city to ban smoking on public beaches. Since that controversial decision, often led by high-schools clean-ups and rallies, dozens of other California communities have followed in prohibiting smoking on their beaches.

Like many San Diego coastal beach towns, here is a mix of the old and the new. The coastal area is older, built in the 50s and 60s. This main part of town along historic Highway U.S. 101 is a mix of antique shops, older and remodeled homes, galleries, restaurants, hotels, resorts and apartments.

There are lots of beach community accommodations options in the area including Solana Beach Accommodations and Solana Beach Ca Hotels.

5 Beautiful Holiday Destinations In Australia

By Jo Archibald

Byron Bay
This is a seaside town situated in Northern New South Wales. It has many magnificent eastern points. Cavvanbah, as it was known in the Australian "dream period", was a place where native Aborigines used to trade goods, find marriage partners and congregate to swap stories. This place now is a magnet for tourists. It is ideal if you are looking for the small beach town type of holiday. It is also home to some of the best music festivals of Australia. This includes Splendor In The Grass and East Coast Blues & Roots Music Festival. It also happens to be a very famous whale watching destination especially during the humpback whale's winter migration.

Mt Tamborine
This resort is situated on a plateau well above and overlooking the Gold Coast. The development of magnificent resorts, hotels, spas and health and fitness retreats has created a fantastic tourism industry. It is heaven for a nature lover or a hiker as it offers beautiful trails into rainforest, waterfalls, cliffs and streams loaded with water life. A very popular place is Curtis Falls rainforest track, the Knoll. There is a bi-monthly market in the town on every 2nd Sunday.

Airlie Beach
This town is very near to the GBR, in the Whitsunday region (Queensland), Australia. Bathers may find it tricky to enter the water at certain times of the year due to "stingers" such as Box jellyfish. Still, the good news is that the local council has built a protected lagoon that allows safer swimming and is accessible 365 days each year. Blessing Of The Feet Festival is the ideal time to visit Airlie. This fest was started by Father Keith Felgate on Whit or Pentecost Sunday.

Blue Mountains
The Blue Mountains is a mountainous region outside Sydney. It is 1,190m above sea level and has 7 conservation reserves and national parks. It is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Area. Coolangatta - Gold Coast Holidays

By Bailey Jamieson

Coolangatta as an attraction dates back to the 1880's when in was first discovered by travellers heading up the Queensland Gold Coast. Along with the neighbouring New South Wales town of Tweed Heads Coolangatta was established and settled around 1883. But prior to land based travellers discovered Coolangatta Captain James Cook is documented as the first non indigenous person to see the golden beaches when he passed by this section of the coast in 1770. Captain Cook proclaimed the area around Coolangatta and named them as Point Danger and Mount Warning. The Tweed River which runs between Queensland and New South Wales was developed into a port area around 1830, Its main export at the time was cedar wood.

It is believed that the charms of Coolangatta were discovered in the 1880s. The town of Coolangatta with its twin town of Tweed Heads were established around 1883. Hotel Facilities Vary Depending Upon the Service Level

By Adriana Noton

Many people wonder why they get charged one rate at a Super 8. airport hotels and another at a Hilton when they are using nothing more than a bed. If that is the case, they may be staying at the wrong type of hotel facilities and could use a little guidance as to what to expect based on the top of property that they are staying. Lodging comes in three different tiers and each one of them is meant to service a specific market.

The lowest level of amenities will be received at extended stay properties. These are properties that are strictly meant for longer stays that will not cost as much money as any other type of hotel or motel. The reason the rates are so low is because they do not usually offer the types of amenities that people would generally expect from a hotel.

It is a rare extended stay property that will have a rate anywhere near $100/night. The longer the guest is staying, the more likely that the rate will be lower. For this generous rate, they get very little other than a bed and a parking spot. There will usually be laundry facilities of some type and maid service will be very limited.

One step up would be considered limited service properties. These are properties like the Garden Inn or Days Inn. Room rates are a little higher, but there is not much more in the way of the typical hotel amenities. Owners of these properties make some of the highest profits in the industry so you can expect them to be clean, but they will be run very tight.

Maid service in limited service properties will usually be a daily occurrence, unless they are at the bottom tier of the scale. They may even only offer it on request. While some of them offer meeting rooms and banquet space, it is very limited. There may or may not be a restaurant on property and will probably offer a continental breakfast for their guests.

The hotels with the best hotel facilities are known as full service hotels. For these amenities, the guest can expect to pay considerably more. A nice travel tip is to look for full service hotels that are surrounded by limited service hotels. They will have to drop their rates to stay competitive in their market.

Types of full service hotels would be properties such as Hilton and Marriott. They are typical of full service hotels in that they treat their VIP members like gold. Their highest levels can expect free breakfast, a welcome amenity, honor bar with free hours d' oeuvres and express check ins. These types of properties are generally required to have a full service restaurant, health spa, snack shop along with high end banquet facilities.

If a travel is doing nothing more than sleeping in their room, why waste the money at a full service hotel. A place like the Garden Inn will still offer a free continental and a high level of service. When the guest wants to be pampered, pay the few extra dollars and take advantage of the hotel facilities that are offered.

What To Do Before Going To A Facial Salon

By Edmund Murray

You can find facial salons everywhere. They sprout like mushrooms, dotting almost every corner making it a bit of a challenge to select the top one. While a friend's recommendation can help you narrow down your options or even help you go into a good facial salon, sometimes you are given with no option but to try a particular salon (with fingers crossed), trusting you'll come out happy and contented. After all, experience still is the greatest teacher.

What are the things tosearch when choosing a facial salon? Consider the following:

Cleanliness is close to godliness. You've surely listened of this ancient proverb for maybe a thousand times now, but this certainly isn't just another line on your proverbs collection. Hygiene is the first thing to regard when looking for a facial salon. Checkout the surrounding area if it's right for such kind of establishment. More importantly, see to it that this particular facial salon adheres to the sanitary regulations set by the ministry of health. The cleanliness of the equipment used in a facial salon is as critical as the treatment itself. By all means, assure that all facial instruments are properly cleaned before and after use. Furthermore, you have to be sure on how the therapists in a certain facial salon keep cleanliness. Are they sticking to strict hygienic measures? Do they change their gloves with each patient? Do they wash their hands before touching your face or any facial instrument? Do they wear clean scrub suits? Is the area itself clean?

Quality Products. Most facial salons are exclusive distributors of particular skin care products. Normally these products are examined and proven to be competent in detoxifying and cleansing your skin. However, some facial salons make their own products. Shy away from low-cost and synthetically-produced products as generally they do not pass through quality control standards, therefore, more likely to do harm to your skin.

Skin Consultation. A decent facial salon should provide this service prior to any treatment. This is the part where you see and understand your skin condition. The therapist should be able to tell you your skin type and evaluate the needs of your skin. Recommendations for what type of products to use are based from the outcome of the consultation.

Trained and professional staff. A good facial salon should invest in training their therapists. No matter how effective a particular treatment sounds like or how good the products used, they're only as good as the hands that use them. Educated and professional therapists attend to your concerns with credibility. A qualified workforce is an important asset of a facial salon to guarantee the clients with the best results by taking into consideration the vital needs of your skin.

The price is right. Let's accept it, we all desire excellent result that doesn't compromise our budget. And so it goes that quantity doesn't always mean quality or vice-versa. When picking out a facial salon, see to it that their services are fairly priced. If you can have a really good treatment for a very low-budget price, then good! Still, you must also study the kind and quality of products being used. Sometimes, it's also more advisable to go for a more expensive treatment that assures great results than go for a low-priced treatment only to be frustrated with the outcome.

Customer Feedback. Check out about a facial salon you have in mind by asking other people who have been there. You can find various feedback from them, surely, and that should help you decide whether it's worth your dough or not. Weigh all the pros and cons.

What is the World's Most Popular Heart-Shaped Jewelry Item?

By Betsy Johnson

What does the "heart shape" conjure up in your mind? For many of us, we think of love and romance. This shape has effectively worked it's way into St. Valentine's day, our greeting cards and presents, and into the design of our jewelry items as well. Jewelry is often made from gold, silver, diamonds, emeralds, rubies, etc., but by adding the "heart shape" into the mix we add the concepts of love, romance, caring and belonging as well. In this article we will explore the world of heart jewelry, the "heart shape" as a symbol, and take a peak at the world's most famous heart-shaped diamond.

When we think of the spiritual, emotional, moral, and intellectual core of humans, what symbol comes to mind? For most of us it is the "heart shape". The heart shape is often shown in the color "red" as this depicts both blood (it is the heart that pumps blood through the body) and intense emotion. What emotion can possibly be stronger than that of true love?

Heart-shaped diamonds are very rare in nature, but they do exist. The "Blue Heart" (also called the "Eugenie Blue") diamond is perhaps the most famous of these. In fact, many people consider it to be the best example of a blue diamond that has ever existed. Rivaled in fame by only perhaps the Hope Diamond, it is the unique heart shape that makes the "Blue Heart" really stand out from the crowd. From the standpoint of simplicity and pure elegance, it's hard for any gem to compare with the "Blue Heart".

Weighing in at 30.82 metric carats, it's debatable whether the "Blue Heart" diamond is of African or Indian origin. Antanik Ekyanan cut the rough diamond in Neuilly, Paris in either 1909 or 1910. The dimensions of this beautiful gem are: 20mm x 19mm x 12mm.

In 1910 Cartier purchased this diamond from an Argentinean woman named Mrs. Unzue. Mrs. Unzue had the diamond set into a corsage. It was in this corsage when the diamond was purchased by Van Cleef and Arpels in 1953.

The next stop of this precious heart jewelry gem was an European family, who then sold it to a gentleman named Harry Winston. The year was 1959, and he placed this diamond into a ring, and subsequently sold it to Marjorie Merriweather Post. Marjorie Merriweather Post eventually donated it to the Smithsonian Institution located in Washington, D.C. It is here at the Smithsonian that this wonderful example of heart jewelry is currently on display. As a bit of nostalgic history and trivia, it's interesting to note that at one point the Blue Heart Diamond, the Hope Diamond, and the Heart of Eternity were all on display at the Smithsonian Institution.

Gay Vacations With Meaning

By Howie Holben

Vacations are something that everyone takes in order to get themselves out of the hustle and bustle of the real world for a little bit of relaxation and rejuvenation. This time away is very important to both our physical and mental health. There are many different types of vacations that one can take in order to fill these needs.

You can vacation alone, with friends or family, or you can travel with a group. You can also choose to travel with a group of people that have similar backgrounds and interests. Exploring gay spirituality is one choice for gay people.

On gay vacations, our gayness is one thing we all have in common. This shared life experience can only add to our vacation experience. Bonds are quickly formed in the group due to our shared experiences in life.

New acquaintances become fast friends and people with whom we find we can share things. This helps to make gay vacations a unique and wonderful experience. We know we are understood by those around us, at least on some level.

Being comfortable with the people in the group, lets us be more open and relaxed. When we're more comfortable with those around us, the vacation experience can reach us more fully. This provides for a deeper recovery from life's pressures and strains.

A vacation with men and women that also share our intentions for the vacation deepens our sense of recovery. Spiritually connecting to the world around us and to ourselves is one shared intention. Now we share two important things, our gay spirit and a desire to grow spiritually.

Gay vacations that include an exploration of the world and also an exploration of ourselves, can be very powerful. With the support of the others in the group we are able to let our walls down even further and live a freer life. And that's why we took a vacation in the first place, to be freer of life's responsibilities.

Vacation Or Holidays Are Often Used Spent With Friends Or Family.

By Pedro Toledo

One of the highlights of Chinese New Year are firecrackers that beautifully light up the sky. Families also enjoy the deafening pop-pop-pops of the firecrackers. Firecrackers are called "pau jeun" in Chinese, meaning exploding bamboo. Pau jeun are burned at home, for work, or for public displays. Firecrackers are used for worship and for celebration. This is why the pau jeun brings a meaning of joy or upliftment for the Chinese. Chinese New Year is also about joy and upliftment, so the pau jeun is used to celebrate it.

Firecrackers are widely used during Chinese New Year because it is believed the bright lights and the noise can scare away evil spirits like Nian. It was believed that Nian is a monster that would awake only during the Lunar New Year and would devour men and animals in its path.

Teen Villains. If your crowd is slightly older, look beyond fairy tales. Still riding high in popularity, Harry Potter fought his share of bad guys and Lord Voldemort was the ickiest. That nose might be hard to duplicate, but the snarling would be fun. Dress up a crew of Harrys, Hermoines and the rest of gang to battle your evilness.

The modern day firecrackers now are tubular, similar to the shape of the bamboo. Chinese firecrackers in the US come in assorted sizes and shapes. The most common firecrackers used during the Chinese New Year are the red tubes 1 inches long and are braided together with string, wrapped in transparent paper. A bundle is usually tied with 16 or 50 tubes per pack.

The Chinese New Year Parade is also where East meets West. This is because the Chinese New Year Parade also features other Non-Chinese traditions. Aside from the symbolic lion and Golden Dragon dance, the parade also features non-Chinese activities like the beauty pageant. Many people come to see the newly crowned Ms. Chinatown and her court along with the colorful Chinese-themed floats, marching bands and other Asian groups that join the parade.

How it All Started During San Francisco's Gold Rush period, over 50,000 hopefuls came to work in the mines hoping for a better life. Among them were Chinese immigrants who later on formed friendships and ties with everyone else. These Chinese immigrants soon shared their unique culture by using the good old-fashioned American Parade. Through the help of other groups from different parts of the city, they were able to promote the rich Chinese culture.

Flying While Pregnant - Tips To Ensure Your Safety

By Adriana Noton

As long as expectant mothers do not have any complications with their pregnancy and they are not flying when the due date is close, air travel while pregnant is normally very safe. It is safest for a pregnant woman to travel by air during the second trimester which is weeks 18 to 27. If an expectant mother is more than 36 weeks pregnant, most airlines will prohibit her from flying because of the increased risk of delivering during the flight. Although it is safe for pregnant mothers to fly, they have to be aware of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and developing blood clots, particularly during long flights.

The following tips will help ensure a safe flight when pregnant:

1. During a flight, a pregnant woman should keep a number of items nearby. Do not drink beverages containing caffeine and alcohol, but drink plenty of water. Keep your nutrition levels at their optimum levels by bringing fresh fruit which is full of vitamins such as plums, grapes, dried apricots or oranges. To avoid catching a cold or flu, wear a face mask. Bring ear plugs and an eye mask.

2. To make the flight as comfortable as possible, wear loose fitting and comfy clothing. Often a pregnant woman's feet will swell. To make it more comfortable during the flight, wear a support hose and shoes with modifiable straps. To decrease blood clots and Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) try to get up from your seat and walk up and down the aisle every hour or so. Get plenty of rest during the flight. Book a seat that allows for the most leg movement. Many airline websites have information about the varying legroom on each of their seats, or check a legroom guide to learn about the different sizes reported by each airline. A bulkhead seat and an aisle seat are a comfortable choice because there is more room to move.

3. Most medical experts recommend that a pregnant woman should not fly before 12 weeks because of the risk of a miscarriage and morning sickness. After 28 weeks, most airlines will need a letter from the expectant mother's doctor saying she is healthy enough to fly as well as verifying the estimated due date. Because each airline has its own guidelines for flying while pregnant, when a pregnant woman books a flight, she should inform the airline that she is expecting. If booking a flight online, make sure that you check the airline's website regarding their rules about flying when pregnant. A woman can also telephone the airline about her pregnancy ahead of time.

4. When you make your flight preparations, it is important not to be shy about giving the airlines all of your information and asking them important questions. You can also ask the airline for comfortable seating. It is important to be aware that many insurers will not insure a pregnant woman who flies because it is considered a higher risk so it is important to check with your insurance provider about their policy coverage. You can always purchase air travel insurance.

When flying while pregnant, it is important to get as much rest as possible. Flying during a pregnancy is a time when it is really worth spending a few extra dollars. Some airlines will charge a few extra dollars for seating that has a bit more room. Being pregnant does not have to make your flight uncomfortable. By consulting with your doctor, making the right flight preparations, and asking the essential questions, you will greatly increase your chances of having a restful and relaxing flight.

Learn How Much Legroom you'll Get on the Major Airlines

By Adriana Noton

Most travelers will tell you that the seat room on a flight can often be a tight squeeze. The lack of legroom, a kid kicking the back of your seat, and the uncomfortable struggle for the armrest, can make for a very frustrating flight experience. However, many people are surprised to learn that airlines do not all have the same seating measurements. On an airplane, the space of seating is measured by width and seat pitch. That is, the amount of space between one seat and the seat directly in front of or behind it. For example, if a plane has a seat pitch of 85 cm in economy, this means that there is a distance of 85cm between the front of one seat and the front of the seat behind it. Seat pitch and additional specifications can differ from one plane to another.

When choosing a seat for comfort, it is important to be aware that not all 'bulkhead' rows are the same. The 'bulkhead seats' are the seats that are located right behind such obstructions as walls or curtains. Sitting in a bulkhead row means you will not have another person sitting in front of you leaning their seat back. This often gives you more legroom. It is important to be aware that not all 'bulkhead rows' are the same. For instance, the first 'bulkhead' row can sometimes be more confining with less room to move around. Also, if you are tall, check the seat pitch. More legroom is associated with a higher number. As well, exit row seats usually offer a bit more legroom.

If you are looking to book a comfortable seat on flights, you should book flight tickets as soon as possible because the number of more desirable seats reduces as the flight date nears. Check online to purchase your seats early. You can also purchase a better seat. For an additional fee, some airlines offer seats in economy with more legroom. For instance, JetBlue now offers 'Even More Legroom' seating on its planes. As well, United now offers 'Economy Plus Access' to travelers who pay the annual fee of $425 as well as to consistent frequent fliers. This provides passengers with an extra five inches of seat pitch.

The following is a list of how much legroom you will get on a few of the major airlines:

AIR CANADA: B777-300 has seat pitch of 81cm and seat width of 47cm. B777-200 has seat pitch of 81cm and seat width of 47cm. A330-300 has seat pitch of 79-84cm and seat width of 45cm. By Ollie Howsare

Have you ever dreamed of living in a tropical paradise where, as the song says, "the weather is fine and the life is easy?" For many people, Costa Rica appears to be that place and Costa Rica condos are their natural target. Perhaps, along with 1.5 million or more North American and European tourists a year, you have had the chance to enjoy the beaches, surfing, big game fishing, mountains, volcanoes, rivers, and tropical forests of this beautiful country. Situated between the sandy beaches on its Pacific and Caribbean coasts, Costa Rica also boasts numerous national parks and reserves throughout the country where protected bird, mammal, and reptile species live in Eden-like environments that bring tourists back again and again.

Approximately 1.5 million North American and European tourist visit each year in Costa Rica. And almost all of them prefer to stay on Costa Rican Condo instead of a fancy hotel. Because these condos offer a much relaxing and natural feeling compared to an expensive hotel. These condos are situated between the sandy beaches on its Pacific and Caribbean coasts. They are also located near national parks and reserve for easy an access for the tourist.

If you come to Costa Rica, chances are that you will land at Juan Santamaria International Airport outside the capital city of San Jose on the central plateau and nearly equidistant from the Pacific and Caribbean coasts. Known for its surf, rain forests, and Tortuguero National Park, Puerto Limon is 120 km (75 mi) to the east on the Caribbean coast. The old coffee-shipping port of Puntarenas on Golfo di Nicoya and the Pacific coast lies 90 km (56 mi) to the west.

You can stop at Puntarenas or veer off to the Pan-American Highway and head northeast to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve for long walks on comfortable trails and incredible views, but a guided Canopy Tour of this rainforest is a must. Alternatively, you can head northwest to the national parks near Liberia, or the beaches of Tamarindo and Coco on the Gulfo di Papagayo noted for its year round deep-sea fishing.

If you head south, you can follow the oddly shaped province of Puntarenas ("Sands Point" in Spanish) stretching along the Pacific coast to the Panamanian border. Along the way are the beaches of Jaco and Manuel Antonio National Park, the smallest but among the most popular national parks in the country. In this park, visitors can travel paths leading from idyllic beaches to rainforest and mountain terrains.

Going south is also a good place to start your vacation In Costa Rica. Going to Puntarenas ("Sands Point") will surely be an excellent choice because you can see all those oddly shaped islands stretching along the Pacific coast to the Panamanian border. San Jose has minimal cost-of-living considering the houses situated in a typical middle class suburban village. The US and Canada can not compete with what the Costa Rica condos are presenting, it even offer other real estate projects for investment such as time-shares, single-family homes and farms that are needs working. Orlando Condo Rentals - A Comfortable, Convenient Vacation Lodging Choice

By Stephen Daniels

A visit to Orlando, Florida isn't just about Disney World -- there are a myriad of other theme parks and attractions to visit, as well as an exciting nightlife, many bargain shopping centers and a wide array of fine cuisine. Coupled with warm sunshine year-round, this makes Central Florida a top vacation destination for foreign and domestic travelers alike. On average, people stay one to two weeks to take in more of the theme park and other attractions. To maximize comfort and flexibility during these longer stays, an Orlando condominium rental is a great choice.

The city of Orlando is teeming with hotel rooms, from the super luxurious to the budget-friendly. Regardless of whether a hotel is of the luxury or budget variety, hotel rooms generally lack many of the conveniences we take for granted in our homes. Conversely, the myriad of condo lodging options in the area afford the traveler more privacy and more space. Many are quite spacious and open. You can select from one, two, three or even more bedrooms to accommodate a couple, a family or quite a crowd! Even more importantly, condos come with all the conveniences we are used to at home.

Although you often get a lot of living space, these rentals may not be as expensive as you might think. Deals can sometimes be found that price condos similarly to many hotel rooms - especially if you get a special rate for rentals that are longer than one week. Furthermore, when all the expenses for your vacation are tallied, the cost cutting amenities these units afford really add up. High-end hotels and budget motels may not have the dining options of your choice. They also usually don't offer separate sleeping space for all the members of your family or group.

By contrast, those staying in a condo have use of a full, private kitchen for cooking meals, with plenty of space for groceries. Cost savings for preparing your own meals as opposed to eating in restaurants, with gratuity added, can add up to hundreds of dollars per week. Your Orlando rental unit offers everything you need for your relaxing, tranquil stay, including, among other things, kitchen appliances, dishes and cookware, and linens.

Many of Orlando's condo rental properties are located outside the tourist traps. Instead, they are in the Florida residential communities that are the envy of the world. Guests are usually free to make use of the property amenities which can include swimming pools, recreational BBQs, yard and garden space to wander, and access to the property's gym. And although some condominiums are tucked away on the side streets, Orlando has an outstanding public transportation system, making it easy to access the city's top attractions.

Some Orlando condo properties allow small dogs and cats, making them ideal for travelers who like to bring their animals along. Particularly for families and groups, condo rentals are cost effective and fairly hassle free. Vacation rentals offer amenities far beyond what is usually found in hotels, making them a great choice for smart travelers who want to get the most out of their trip.

Tempe Arizona: A Great Place To Visit

By Sean Elstins

Thinking about where to take your next vacation? Tempe Arizona just may be what you're looking for. It offers lots to do in sports and outdoor recreation as well as nightlife, performance arts and shopping. And the state capital of Phoenix is less than 15 miles away.

If golf is your thing, Tempe has 2 public courses that offer lessons and practice facilities. Or you simply can just play a few rounds with friends or by yourself. Kids and adults alike may enjoy any of the various public pools including the full water park with slides. Other outdoor activities include tennis, batting cages, fishing and boating to name a few.

If you have your own boat, you can get a permit to take it out on the town lake. Or you rent a boat and take classes. A relaxing day can be spent at any of the many public parks featuring playgrounds for the children.

Tempe houses lots of shopping including 2 big malls and the famous Mill Avenue district where you can find pretty much anything you are looking for. In addition to all the shops, the district also contains bars, nightclubs and a sporting arena where you can catch some good college games.

Tempe is also the location of The Los Angeles Angels' spring training baseball camp. If you're there in February or March you can catch an inexpensive baseball game. The weather is generally very nice during that time.

Actually, the weather is pretty nice year round. Arizona is known for being dry so even when it is hotter, the air will be more breathable and you will sweat less. That's important if you're planning to do all those fun outdoor activities! It is a desert location so the chances of your fun being rained out are slim. That being said, temperatures from May to September will likely be over 100 degrees most days. If that doesn't sound so good to you, think about a fall or winter vacation when an average day will have lows in the 40's and highs in the 80's.

There is plenty to do along the lines of culture too. The arts center puts on shows year round. You can see ballet, concerts, plays, musicals and more. A nice relaxing evening at the center could be the perfect way to wind down after an eventful day outside. And of course there are plenty of places to eat. Whether a small diner or an upscale restaurant, Tempe has you covered for food.

By Danny Ricks

Timeshares are good investments you can purchase. This allows you to have your dream vacation in a luxurious resort that you have ever wanted. When spending a vacation with family or friends, this is a chance of a lifetime to enjoy and have fun without practically worrying about anything under the sun.

Besides, timeshare have now become popular in its genre. Many people now opt to have this property because it can save them on maintenance costs. Things that pertain to maintenance are no longer their concern or problem. What they do is just hop into its availability and spend leisure time comfortably.

This is why you demand to choose carefully the kind of resort that suits your needs and preference. This article will be providing you tips and ideas on how you will buy a timeshare so that you will be happy with your purchase.

If you buy a timeshare, be sure that you have repeatedly thought about it several times. Buying this property is no joke as it is not a regular type of real estate whose value increases as time flies. What you are buying are rights to use the property while you are in vacation. So it is best to buy the timeshare when you are ready and planning a vacation on a long-term basis. If fun and enjoyment is your main intention for buying it, then this should be your chance.

As this is not a regular type of real estate, be sure that you are financially equipped so that you can afford the cost or the price of this timeshare. You need to bear in mind that these are accommodations from luxurious resorts from anywhere in the world that offer timeshare to customers. You also need to be patient as this may take some time for its bookings.

You will also need to be attentive when you want to buy a timeshare. It is important that you have checked the property in terms of location, market value in terms of its convenience and amenities as well as the contract terms. This is because you value your money's worth and make sure that you bought things as expected.

You will know lots of sellers who will be providing information about timeshares from different locations all over the globe. Owners of resorts, developers and real estate brokers can be your resource where you can find timeshares. They can give you ideas on which to buy but you need to be extra cautious of individuals who are persistent in making you close a sale. They are just thinking of themselves and do not care whether you made the right purchase or not.

There will also be maintenance fees to help maintain the standards of the vicinity like most luxurious hotels do. Timeshares are not inflation protected so you need to be aware of these expenses too.

The above are key points you need to bear in mind when you buy a timeshare. This may be taken into lesser consideration especially if you know the ins and outs of the game. But as a neophyte, some of these will prove to be useful.

Getting The Most Of Your Travel Package And Vacation

By Adriana Noton

Everybody looks forward to taking a vacation. It is often the only time each year that we can forget about our stresses and worries and instead enjoy a good rest and relaxation. Getting the most of your travel package can help you to have only positive memorable experiences.

The range and diversity of activities that are now available in a package holiday are vast. There are vacations that can offer you a wealth of exciting adventurous pursuits such as hiking or scuba diving but also there are deals which will include nothing but the cost of the hotel. When organising the booking you need to understand just exactly what activities will be included free of cost and which require a supplementary payment. Think about any Restaurants Vancouver or even Associations Vancouver you might want to travel to.

The original concept of an all-in-one deal begun more than one hundred years back. The first package tours were organised in Leicester by Thomas Cook. Now package holidays have become the most popular form of trip with literally millions of tourists choose this form of vacation on an annual basis.

The package should incorporate all the relevant travel arrangements so that all you have to think about is what fun activity to try out first. If you were going to book a hotel room and flight separately then the overall cost is likely to be much higher.

When enquiring about specific resorts and destinations make sure the travel agent is clear on just what facilities will be accessible by you. If you are planning a holiday at a busy time of year such as the summer months then it may be worthwhile booking extra activities before you arrive. You do not want to turn up at the resort only to be told that all the facilities you wanted to use have been fully booked.

Also check with the agent to see if an airport pick up is included in the price of the package. It may be the case that the airport is a considerable distance from the resort and would cost a large sum to pay for the travel cost by yourself.

By taking the time to explore all the options you stand a better chance of getting value for money. Over the last few years the tourism industry has not been so buoyant and this has resulted in many excellent deals and packages becoming available for specific destinations.

A True Australian Experience

By Jason Hall

Fraser Island is in some places very similar to scenes from Star Wars: It is the world's largest Sand island. Four wheel driving along the east coasts Seventy-five Mile Beach or through the primal inland forests reveals an amazing mix of ancient rainforest's and mystical sand dunes.

The large amounts of sand dunes makes it a popular destination for Sand Safaris. In order to enjoy this destination, however, you need a four wheel drive, as a regular car would become destroyed due to the lack of paved roads.

Many chose to tour Fraser Island through a nine person convoy. This is considered a self tour as nine individuals are grouped together, given a four wheel drive and directions and sent off on a three day two night camping trip. These tour tend to be less expensive and are great for making new friends and seeing the things that interest you. However the down side to these tours are that you may have an inexperienced driver in the group who is constantly bogging you down in the sand, there is a slight chance for a fatal accident and if the group does not get along it can be a long and stressful experience.

If you don't fancy sharing your safari with a bunch of strangers then it is possible to hire your own 4WD from Hervey Bay, Rainbow Beach or even on Fraser Island itself. All companies require a large deposit, usually a credit card imprint and you WILL lose it if you drive in salt water (so don't even think about driving through those waves!!) A driving instruction video is normally shown and when planning your trip then driving about twenty kilometers in an hour on inland tracks and fifty an hour on the eastern beach would be about right. Be careful to resist the urge to speed as there have been many accidents and also, when driving on the beach, watch out for sunbathers on the Beach Highway.

There are an array of wildlife present on Fraser Island. One of the most talked about is the Dingo. Dingo's are basically tame animals, and are only interest in the food that people leave. It is encouraged that you do not feed the Dingos while camping, nor leave food from them when you leave. In the past, people had feed the Dingos, which encouraged them to come to camping areas where the people were. Back in 2001 a nine year old boy was killed by a Dingo because of this. That is why you need to ensure that the Dingo's do get a taste of people food.

How To Start A Bed & Breakfast

By Tris Jackson

By clicking through these paragraphs, I have a good idea that you are interested, in part, in starting your own Bed and Breakfast in your area. You have to think, there is a lot for you to consider if you are in fact looking into this. Before you can consider a lot of the decisions you have to make, you first have to consider some of the most important choices you have to make.

You certainly would not be the first person to make one. The whole premise is based on the way that inns have been for centuries. The people expected to get a relaxing night sleep, complete with meals and some degree of service. Now, it is more of a treat if you will, to find a place that offers you meals and housing for the same rate.

So what are your primary concerns? Well let me tell you, there is going to be a few of those. Although there might be more than this for you, I have compiled a three item list of what I consider to be the most important factors that you have to address and conquer for your B&B to be a success when you open your doors for the first time.

One of the factors that you simply have to consider is the location of the establishment itself. You see, people head off to B&Bs specifically to get away from the hustle and bustle of their daily lives. So you have to offer them seclusion from the city, but not so far buried in the country that no one could find you. It really has to be the best of both worlds.

There are plenty of mom and pop run B&Bs. However, what you might not realize is that both parties have a heavy workload to keep everything running smoothly. You might benefit from hiring a small number of people to aid and assist you until you get your bearings. There is a lot of work that goes into keeping a Bed and Breakfast nice.

Perhaps the most important thing you have to consider is how to get people in the doors of your new place. While word of mouth is your best tool, you cannot get that ball rolling until you have had people stay the night. So you have to manually jump start this process. You can do so by seeking out businesses that cater to families and couples, and asking if you can set up a station with pamphlets for people to read.

So if you are serious about starting your own Bed and Breakfast, than these are three of the most prevalent points that you are going to have to consider in order to get it running smoothly and to make you some money at the same time.

What Hotel Facilities Can Be Expected When Staying at a Different Lodging Levels

By Adriana Noton

The hotel industry is broken down into three separate categories: extended stay, limited service and full service. While the exact hotel facilities a guest can expect are going to change from property to property, there are some core items that should be present at each level. Here is a quick overview of what can be expected at each level.

An extended stay property is lodging that is long term. These are very popular among people that are relocating to a new area and permanent accommodations are not ready or have not been found yet. Room rates are generally very low, but so are the amenities that are offered. Some hotels are a bit more welcoming than others, but most will offer little more than a room.

For the most part, you are getting a room, laundry facilities and a parking space. Some of the higher end places will have pools, but that is something that should be considered a bonus. They are generally very clean places, but will only offer maid service once or twice a week. The reason that they are cheaper is because of the low overhead costs in regards to staff.

The next category is a limited service hotel. The hotel facilities offered vary greatly as this is a highly contested market and profits are very high. Because some of these properties are in direct competition with full service hotels, they will offer a few more amenities than a run of the mill travel lodge.

Limited service properties will usually offer maid service every day and having something like a workout room or pool is possible. If they have meeting rooms, they will be very small and very limited. Some limited service properties are now offering free breakfasts as a way to entice the full service guests away from the other properties.

Full service hotels far and away have the best hotel facilities, but the rates are generally much higher than the first two categories. To get the best rates, guests should actually look for properties that are located close to limited service properties as they are often forced to lower their rates in order to fill the house.

Examples of full service hotels are Marriott, Hilton and Crowne Plaza. Where limited service loyalty programs are basically useless other than getting points for rooms, full service hotels treat their highest level VIP members like Kings. Free breakfast, cocktail hours and turn down service are but a few of the perks. The hotel should also have a fully equipped fitness club, pool (when possible), snack shop, full service restaurant, banquet facilities and exceptional meeting rooms.

While all of these types of lodging facilities serve their purpose, a full service hotel is where to go when pampering is desired. Their staffs are trained (or at least they should be) to make every wish of a guest come true. After all, the guest is paying for full service and they have every right to expect to receive it.

Driving A Minibus In The UK

By Mark JM Bond

Introduction Minibuses can be hired for self drive and are great for transporting a group of friends, family, or a sports team. They hold between 9 and 16 passengers - not including the driver and they are always a great way of getting small groups of people from A to B. In order to drive a minibus in the UK you must possess a full UK driving license with a D1 entitlement. These used to be added onto licenses automatically if you took your car test before 1997 but then conditions changed:

In order to self drive a minibus in the UK you must be the holder of a full UK driving license with a D1 entitlement. This used to be added onto your license automatically by the DVLA if you took your car test before 1997 but then conditions changed:

The new higher medical standards Providing you had entitlement to drive cars prior to 01/01/1997 you can drive a minibus provided it has a no more then a maximum of 17 seats including the driver's seat and is not being used for hire or reward. The minibus entitlement will remain valid within the UK until your license is next renewed.

The permit scheme In order to drive any vehicle that has nine or more passenger seats for payment (hire or reward) then you will normally need a passenger carrying vehicle (PCV) entitlement. There are some exceptions to this rule (please see below). To obtain this will require meeting higher medical standards and you will also need to take an additional driving test (PCV). However, if you drive a minibus for an organisation under the minibus or community bus permit scheme you will not need to have the higher PCV entitlements. You will still need to take and pass the higher medical text. Should your license does not include a D1 entitlement then you may still be allowed to drive a minibus under certain conditions.

You are allowed to drive a minibus with up to 16 passengers if: i) you drive on behalf of a non commercial body for social purposes but not for hire or payment, unless operating under a permit; ii) you are aged 21and over; iii) you have possessed a car (category B) license for at least 2 years; iv) you are providing your service on a voluntary basis; v) the minibus maximum weight is not more than 3.5 tonnes excluding any specialist equipment for the carriage of disabled passengers. Minibuses up to 4.25 tonnes will be permitted in certain circumstances. vi) if you are 70 years old and over, you are able to meet the health requirements for driving a vehicle (i.e. minibus) which comes within the D1 class; If you meet these requirements there are two further rules you must act in accordance with: you may not receive any payment you must not tow a trailer (of any size).

Any commercial companies (ie Hire and Reward) MUST be licensed by VOSA. Hire or reward generally means any payment in cash or kind made by or on behalf of the passengers that give them the right to be carried in a vehicle. This would also include courtesy transport from a hotel for example

Vacation Condo Rentals Explained: What Are The 3 Benefits of Condo Rentals?

By Beth Marcon

Let's be real. It' s difficult to finance a getaway into the household plan in this day and age. Not simply is moola stretched everywhere you look but it's getting harder to attain reasonably priced vacations. You need to obtain value and affordability to be able to experience family holidays. Our vacation condo rentals are less than $90 a night.

Perhaps some time on a lavish beach somewhere you can unwind, otherwise possibly a jaunt to the mountains with amazing scenery and time to kick back and get away from the rest of the world. Well this all sounds excellent, until you check out the expense of booking a inn.

As soon as you realize that it is going to cost you $120 to $200 a night, or more, your dreams of a fantastic getaway seem to crash. You will not have to give up on that getaway. In reality, with a vacation condo rental membership, you can take pleasure in a holiday rental and obtain that getaway you have been envisioning of for a lot less moola than you ever thought.

Several people take off on getaway and splurge an enormous amount of moola on inns and hotel rooms, but you will in reality observe that a vacation condo rental is a much better way to go. In actuality, there are numerous outstanding advantages to selecting a vacation condo on your getaway instead of a inn. A bit skeptical? Well, here is a look at the central advantages to be enjoyed when you decide on a vacation condo rental.

Benefit From a Lower Expense for Your Fantasy Vacation

One of the major advantages of choosing a getaway condo rental is that you will enjoy a lower expense for your dream vacation. As you consider the expense of a good inn, you can plan to pay an average of around $150 a night, with some costing extra. However, with a vacation condo rental, by and large you will shell out less than $100 every night. This is a gigantic savings, but when you partake of a vacation condo rental membership as well, several times you will be able to reserve your vacation condo rental for only approximately $40 or $50 every night, saving even additional cash. During troublesome economic times, you possibly will think that a getaway is out of the question, but with these wonderful rates that are obtainable when you select a vacation condo rental, you will be able to afford that getaway that you so desperately need.

Better Availability

Better availability with condo rentals is another of the benefits you'll enjoy when you choose them over a single hotel room. There are condos all around the world that are available and you won't have to worry about blackout dates when you're trying to get a vacation condo rental. Many times you'll find that the hotel you wanted to stay in doesn't have the dates available when you want to go on vacation. Well, why should you plan a vacation around what's best for a hotel? You should be planning around your job and your life, and when you go with a vacation condo rental, you are able to do this because of the great availability you'll find.

More Room for the Whole Family

When you consider the common size of a inn room, you can figure that life is going to be a bit cramped for the entire family. Dealing with you and your children all inside the same space for a week is not quite the excellent vacation that you were probably searching for. With vacation condo rental, you will uncover that there is plenty of room for every person in the family. Several of them have two and three bedrooms obtainable, allowing every person to have a bit added privacy so you can get pleasure from your vacation more thoroughly. So, this is categorically a massive benefit of choosing with a vacation rental instead of a boring inn room.

Save on Eating Too

You will also realize that choosing a vacation condo rental allows you the capability to save moola on your meals too. When you rent a vacation condo, you will enjoy a kitchen at your disposal, which means that you will not have to eat out for each single meal, which might get costly fast. Mostly, a vacation rental is stocked with a good kitchen, as well as dishes and cookware, allowing you to cook for your family. You can spend more or less time cooking in the condo and then select to go out as you can afford it if you desire to. This is precisely an additional way that condo rentals can provide you with majestic savings.

It is certainly easy to appreciate that a vacation rental is a magnificent alternative when you are longing for a much needed vacation. So numerous advantages are obtainable and with a condo rental membership, you can save big time, allowing you to go on a exotic vacation, even when your resources are a smidgen on the sticky side. Why keep putting off that vacation? With condo rentals you can reserve a splendid vacation now without having to expend a vast amount of moola.

With security fears and travel worries still running high, travel companies are going to take advantage of everything in their marketing book to get you to travel more, and that mostly means fantastic deals. From extra add ons and cheap upgrades on your budget travel, to amazing eye-popping fabulousness of luxury travel, the world is your oyster on every budget. Deals will not last forever, though, so time is of the essence.

A great place to see in 2010 is Melbourne. It's Australia's second largest city, and although not the Australian capital (that's Canberra) nor the largest city (that's Sydney), it is without a doubt the country's cosmopolitan centre. From the fabulous beachside lifestyle to the pumping beat of the nightlife or the amazing Asia-meets-European cuisine, there is little not to like in Melbourne. You can go for drives along the coast or go backpacking in the hills. It's a bit far out of the way but well worth the journey. If you love cosmopolitan culture, travel more in 2010 and check out Melbourne.

Don't think that by leaving early on a Friday afternoon, that's a holiday. You really must travel more than that. A minimum of a week is needed to full detox both your mind and body and help you to return from your vacation fully relaxed. Consider two weeks if you can, or even more - especially if you are planning on traveling quite far to have one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences. You'll have a hard time at the start, as you crave your iPhone or Blackberry, but after several days you will remember why travel opens up the mind.

Now dust off your old journal and start packing your bags. Isn't there someplace you'd like to travel to in 2010?

5 Steps That Will Give You The Perfect Car Hire

By Martin Elmer

It is not enough just to find a company and pay when you are rental a car. To get the best deal you should follow those 5 steps:

1. Choose three to four car rental firms that fit your wants and needs. Do this either through the phonebook, or through the internet. Remember to scan every possible firm before you make a choice. You don't want to overlook the best car rental because you got bored from looking.

2. Contact the agency and ask about their special offers, location, availability, pickup sites, rates, special rates, hotel and airline partnerships, extra charges and insurance. In short ask for everything you can think of that can help lower what you have to pay for your car rental; or what would make the car rental more convenient for you.

3. The pickup should not be a hassle, so find a pickup point that is acceptable for you. Sometimes the car rental agencies will pay for a cab or pick you up at your house or in the airport and drive you to the rental.

4. Pick a car, depending on your needs. Find a car that could fit all the people you'll have in it, and if you're alone just use a compact, because some rentals charge higher for larger vehicles.

5. When you have decided which company and car model to choose, you must remember to book it. Sometimes the car rental agencies include the reservation fee in the overall price, while others make it an extra fee. Therefore you should observe this when renting a car.

So to get satisfied with your car hire, you should find a good car rental company, ask all the right questions, find a pickup location and a car size that suit you and make the final booking. By doing so you will get the car hire you are looking for.

Beautiful Flowers - A Valentine's Day Staple

By Adriana Noton

How Valentine's Day evolved is a fascinating story. In early Roman times, the Roman Feast of Lupercalia was a celebration of pagan fertility held on February 14 that honored the Queen of Oman known as Juno, the Roman gods and goddesses, as well as the goddess of marriage and women. During the celebrations, women would write special love letters and place the letters in an urn. The men would then retrieve a letter from the urn and passionately court the woman who wrote the particular love letter.

The most well known origin of Valentine's Day comes from a 3rd century Roman priest by the name of Valentine. Against the explicit orders of Emperor Claudius II, Valentine performed secret marriages. The Emperor prohibited marriages because he thought that unmarried soldiers were more apt to enlist in his army. Valentine was caught and sentenced to death. The story says that Valentine conveyed a letter to a friend which was signed 'From Your Valentine' just prior to his execution on February 14 in 270 A.D. In 496 A.D., in honor of St. Valentine as the patron saint of lovers, Pope Gelasius named St. Valentine's Day on February 14th. Ever since that time, people all over the world have been celebrating Valentines Day.

Flowers have become a staple of Valentines Day. The rose as a symbol of love, is the most widely used flower to give someone on Valentine's Day, especially the traditional bouquet of a dozen red roses. Over the years there have an increase in the diversity of flowers chosen for the special day. Different types of roses include multi-colored roses, white roses, red roses, yellow roses, long stemmed roses, pink roses, and special valentine roses. Other types of flowers now chosen include: carnations, lilies, hyacinths, crocuses, buttercups, tulips, and daisies. Men will send a beautiful bouquet of flowers to their special sweetheart. When giving Valentine flowers as gifts to men, popular colors of flowers include purple, orange, and red. Women love such colors as red, lavender, peach, and pink.

By giving a flower to your special loved one, you are expressing how you feel about that person. The choice of Valentine's Day flowers will depend on the sentiments you want to express.

For instance, a red rose expresses strong feelings and love. Lilac roses are a symbol of love at first sight. Peach Pink rose is a symbol of gratitude, sympathy, gentleness and friendship. Red Roses and White Roses mixed in a bouquet means truth and love, union and harmony, or true love. Lily means that one is a nurturing person. A red carnation means admiration. A white Carnation means pure love, faithfulness, innocence, and sweet and lovely. Chamomile/Golden Marguerite/Anthemis means cheerfulness and friendship. Iris means promise in love, wisdom, faith, and hope. Purple Lilac means the first emotions of love. Ambrosia means love is reciprocated. Pink Camellia means longing for you. White Chrysanthemum means truth and loyal love. Forget-Me-Not means true love, hope, and memories. Gloxina means love at first sight. Pansy means the recipient is being thought about warmly. Yellow and orange roses being mixed together means passionate thoughts. A yellow tulip means hopeless love.

Valentines Day is a day to let that special someone how you feel. Giving flowers to your loved one is a thoughtful and romantic way to share your sentiments.

The Real Estate Market in British Columbia

By Adriana Noton

British Colombia, Canada, is well-known throughout the world for its gorgeous and dazzling mountain views, vibrant and bustling cities, a strong and diverse culture, and its numerous recreational activities such as the stunning golf courses and best ski condos. In British Columbia, the BC real estate market has always been a booming business. However, due to the recent down turn in the economy, the British Columbia real estate market had experienced a brief cooling off period. Now, this exciting and beautiful Canadian province has started to make a strong recovery. A distinct bounce back in consumer demand has turned a possible gloomy 2010 into a very strong year for home sales. A boost in consumer confidence, increased consumer demand, and low mortgage interest rates, have all played an important role in improving the British Columbia real estate market.

Real Estate developers are not only attracting retirees, but they are also attracting an innovative young work force. Many developers are responding to consumer demands for a private piece of paradise where people can enjoy the beautiful scenery, but still have access to a vibrant and culturally diverse city such as Vancouver. Whether you are looking for a cozy and private residential home or looking for new real estate investment opportunities, British Columbia provides many real estate options for the informed investor. Investors and home buyers are recognizing these opportunities. For instance, the average annual MLS (R) residential price in the province is expected to rise 2 per cent. In 2010, many experts are also expecting to see another increase of 4 per cent in the price of real estate. More specifically, home sales in 2010 are projected to increase an additional 8 per cent.

The interior housing markets of British Colombia are also seeing vigorous consumer demand because of stronger market conditions and current low mortgage rates that are boosting home sales. Vancouver, BC has recently seen a large jump in quarterly sales. According to figures released by the Canadian Real Estate Association, Vancouver is fast becoming one of the hottest real estate markets in Canada. As well, Vancouver and Victoria have declared near record sales this past fall.

Many regions across the Province are now seeing strong home sales. For instance, home sales in the Fraser Valley and the city of Victorian have seen a rapid growth in home sales. In fact, sales in Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, and Victoria have boosted the province's overall home sales total to almost record levels. In December of 2009, The British Columbia Real Estate Association reported that Multiple Listing Service (R) residential sales in the province have made a remarkable increase this past November. However, it is important to note that the demand in these residential sales markets is expected to level off in 2010 as demand is exhausted and home prices begin to rise again.

With the current low interest rates available on mortgages, many experts suggest that it may be a good time to look at the real estate investment opportunities in British Colombia. As the economy slowly rebounds, one may find themselves with a lucrative investment in a beautiful province.

How To Save Money On Caribbean Holidays?

By Edward Watkinson

The Caribbean Sea, the coastal region, and the Caribbean islands combined together make up the Caribbean region, which is situated in the south east of Gulf of Mexico. Around 7000 islands are included in this region, which are either included in the flat region, or consists of tall mountains.

The Caribbean Sea is surrounded by beautiful reef, and the underwater world is very striking when one sees various fishes, and turtles. Generally, the climate is warm here with moist and humid winds blowing at all times of the year irrespective of the season.

The magical and heavenly beauty of the Caribbean manages to attract a large population of families to visit the region for their holidays. The green natural surroundings, the sandy beaches, warm climate, and lively entertainment of this island tempt them. People think twice about this trip for the expenditure, which involve in this trip, but there are techniques of spending less money during the holidays at the Caribbean.

One factor, which can save a lot of money, is by making travelling decisions wisely. One must be well aware about the peak, and low seasons of travelling to the Caribbean. Several airlines offer low cost flights to the Caribbean especially during the summer season; hence, one must be alert about such deals.

If you book your travel and accommodation at least 3 months before your visit, it can save money too. It is wise to travel on a weekday rather than a weekend, since the rate difference is quite visible. By taking a several-stop flight to the Caribbean, many people save their costs since the rate of direct flights can be expensive.

If you plan to spend most of the time out of the house or the villa and just need to stay inside for taking rest then choose a villa with less amenities. It will definitely cost less than a five star hotel. Try to find lodging near the picnic points like beaches, so that your saved money may not get wasted on transportation.

The other expense is of food. Food at hotels is quite expensive. So, prefer the street food. This way you can save your money and, at the same time, you can enjoy the tradition and tastes of the region. Moreover, while buying things, go for the local goods instead of the branded European items.

However, the most important tip is to plan the trip and its detail prior to landing at the Caribbean. By planning the trip, people can save money since they can decide all the important attributes such as visiting only popular places, and the ones, which do not charge a lot of entrance fee. To get an idea about the Caribbean traditions, one can simply visit churches, and historical buildings, which do not charge any fee. Rent-a-car services are quite costly; hence, it is better to travel through a bus. One can definitely save money, but they will have to be stingy, and wise during the Caribbean holidays.

The Truth Behind Buy One Get One Free Coupon Savings

By Tiffany Scott

The economy is making it difficult for many us to do everyday shopping for necessities, let alone the ability to splurge on luxuries. An amazing way to save money is using coupons. I know exactly what you're thinking. I also was one of those people that grunted and groaned every time I had to wait for someone to sift through their enormous stack of coupons. But that was before I had an eye opening experience at the grocery store one day. A lady if front me handed the cashier her stack of coupons and waited for her total. Being behind her I could hear the cashier tell her that her savings for the day were seventy dollars. After picking my jaw up I asked her how she did it. She simply smiled and said "buy one get one free coupon."

When my purchase came to more than double for way less items than this customer had, I immediately decided to become a coupon user. As soon as I got home I immediately began researching the coupon phenomenon and how to use them.

What I found was there are coupons for anything and everything, both necessities and luxuries. I remembered my mom cutting out coupons from the newspaper every Sunday so that it where I did my first research. There were coupons for every restaurant we ate it, diapers for the grandchildren, oil changes and then I found the mother of all coupons.

I admit I was excited over my finds; however, the excitement really hit me when I found a coupon for an expensive spa I had been dying to try but never had the cash for. The coupon was for "me and a friend" to get free massages with purchase of pedicure and manicure. That was the most relaxing three hours I ever spent with my sister. We got treated like royalty for three hours at cost of a measly thirty dollars. This experience convinced there really is something to this coupon thing. I am now hooked and do my fair share of holding up the line at the grocery store.

The grocery store is a great place for using coupons, but the ones available for restaurants are really great. There are coupons available for pizza, fast food and fine dining. Before using the coupon read it thoroughly as sometimes it will be only valid on certain days and times or on specific items.

Before cutting out the coupon for groceries, read them completely. Some will have the savings in bold letters but farther down it will state another purchase must be made to make the coupon valid. For example, save fifty cents on a package of bagels if you buy a package of tofu. It is a great deal if you eat tofu. If you do not eat tofu and will only throw it away, you really did not save any money. If fact you spent more than you would have with simply purchasing the bagels.

When cutting out coupons for the week you should put aside a couple of hours to make sure you read them and cut out all of the ones you intend to use. Sunday is a great day to spend a few hours sifting through the newspaper for coupons or you can go to an online site and request specific coupons to be sent through your email.

We are all trying to find ways to save money and shopping is one of the biggest ways to save. Just be cautious of the coupons you cut out. It is not necessary to cut them all out especially if you do not plan to use them. My absolute favorite is the buy one get one free coupon. Coupons are great; however, at times you will spend more for an item with a coupon than purchasing a same quality item without using a coupon. It is important to take your time, read the coupons instructions, and compare prices while at the store. Use the coupon only if you want to try something new or if it really will save you money.

5 Things You Need to Know About Finding Defense Jobs in Afghanistan.

By Alexis Tierce

Are you ready for the surge? While the 30,000 new troops are gearing up to hit Afghanistan, civilian jobs through LOGCAP 4 will be booming too. With a huge amount of troops and infrastructure coming into the country, those high paying jobs are out there.

So - are you thinking about applying? If so, we've got 5 pieces of direct, clear advice to get you prepared.

#5: Don't Think Defense Jobs Are About Making Friends.

Lots of people go over to Afghanistan hoping for a great experience, much like the military, working together, in harmony, for the mission itself.

Not going to happen. This is work, this is contractual stuff, and it is cutthroat. If you aren't ready, you'll be left at the door - fast.

#4: Be Ready to Get Overwhelmed.

A lot of people head into a LOGCAP 4 job with their core attitudes unchanged - they might even realize it's a much tougher, different environment than expected, but think that an honest, direct approach will serve them in the end.

Approach this from a different angle - don't go looking for a positive experience but rather just try and get through it, and you might be alright.

#3: Succeeding in Defense Jobs Means More Than Just Hard Work.

There is a lot of politics around the civilian contracts on these projects. If you can't navigate those minefields, someone else will push you out of the way. You've got to be sharp and cunning, which means if you're not like that naturally, you either have to learn it, or stay home.

#2: Get Ready For Some Bad Eggs.

It's not all sunshine and roses when it comes to your co-workers' personalities here. With criminal background checks only going back a few years, you can get some hardened people on these jobs. Feel up for it? Good. If you're unsure about working around some "rough" types, though, think about it some more.

#1: Above all, When Looking for Defense Jobs, Know What You're Getting Into.

Sweetening the whole experience and pretending it's easy, something simple to earn some good cash? Why bother? People (usually) don't pretend war is all that great, either, so why should you expect anything different (or even as fulfilling) from a civilian mission? Keep your eyes open and you'll have the right mindset.

Amusing Things To Do In An Airport To Kill Time

By Adriana Noton

With the current rigorous security measures that are now being employed at airports, travelers are now finding more time on their hands while waiting to board their flight. Whether you are traveling with children or flying on your own, it has become necessary to alleviate the boredom of waiting to board the flight. Fortunately, there are a number of amusing things you can do to kill time at an airport while you're waiting for your flight to London.

Have a Meal: Relaxing while having a snack or a meal is a great way to kill time while waiting for a flight. Airports now have a wide range of food establishments with comfortable seating where people can sit, chat, and enjoy good food. Many airlines no longer offer in-flight meals so having a meal at a national food chain is a great way to have a meal that you know you will like. You do not have to worry about receiving bad tasting food from an unfamiliar dining establishment. If you want to know what food establishments are at the airport, you can check the airport's website for more information.

Surf the Internet: Most airports now offer Wi-Fi Internet access. All that you have to do is enable your laptop to connect to the airport's access point. You can often find a comfortable spot to surf in an airport coffee shop, lounge, or an airline club. The signals are strong and can reach distances of around 95 meters or more. You can also often pick up the signal at the entrance of the airport and the signals are not disrupted by windows, walls, and doors. The three main Wi-Fi hotspot providers in airports are Boingo, T-Mobile, and Wayport. You can check your email and chat with friends. You can also post some comments on Twitter or add some posts to your Blog. As well, before you leave for the airport, load your laptop with fun games. You will find that the time will fly when you are focused on a fun video game.

Enjoy Airport Life: If you are on a tight budget, you can enjoy the scenery in the airport. For instance, the airport is a great way to watch people coming and going as well as watching tearful goodbyes and blissful hellos. People from all over the world pass through airports so you can chat with travelers and learn about where they come from and learn about their lives. There are also books stores that sell books and magazines, so you can take the opportunity to read a good book. If there is a long delay, wander the airport and enjoy the sights and sounds.

Spruce up Your Appearance: The airplane is a closed-in area and the bathrooms are very small. Take some time to stop in the airport bathroom to brush your hair, wash your face, do a make-up touch up, and brush your teeth. You will not only look better, but you will feel refreshed.

Because of the new airport regulations, tighter airport security and a reduction in scheduled flights, boarding a flight for commercial air travel takes much more time than it used to. Bad weather, more security checks, and traffic congestion, has resulted in much longer boarding delays. Fortunately, the airport has much to offer travelers which will make the wait much less boring.

By Jose Mauricio Maurette

As you all probably know these are days of economic crisis and if you are thinking of going on holidays to Cuba you probably are looking at the cheapest options available. If you are not fussed about your accommodation there are few hotels in Cuba that are really cheap but those are very few.

Hotels in Cuba as I mentioned before are not very cheap although there is a number of options for as little as $14.00 per person per night. The problem is that everybody traveling on a budget want to stay in these very few hotels so to find accommodation in cheap hotels in places like Havana for instance is extremely difficult. There is an article listing the cheapest hotels in Havana. Please follow the link http://www.qassia.com/the-cheapest-hotels-in-havana for more info on cheap hotels.

There is another option available in Cuba for accommodation. Casas Particulares is the term used to call private rentals in Cuba. These Casas or houses however you prefer to call them rent 1 or 2 rooms for as little as $25.00 per room per night. If you are sharing the room with someone else then it works at $12 to $13.00 per person per night. It really does not get any cheaper than this in Cuba.

Although it is very cheap there are few things you should know before you book on of this houses or apartments in Cuba. The government has given a license to the landlords that want to rent their houses with few conditions and limitations.

Family Travel - Tips For Flying With Children

By Adriana Noton

Traveling by car with children can be easily managed. Kids get use to a car quickly and learn how to entertain themselves. As well, it is easy to stop the car and talk to them when they are not behaving. Traveling by airplane with children can be much more challenging. However, by employing a few simple measures, you can make the flying experience much more enjoyable.

The following is a list of helpful tips to make flying with children less stressful:

1. It is important to make sure you are prepared for the flight. There are a number of items you will need to board the airplane. Make sure you bring your child's passport and airplane ticket. When possible, purchase direct nonstop flight tickets so that you do not have to change planes which often is a hassle when traveling with children. For international air travel, book a bassinet for infants up to about 8kg. Ask the airline if they permit early boarding for families. Call the airline to see if they provide child seats. If they do not provide such seats, bring your own child seat. Arrive at the airport early and ask for bulkhead seats as they are roomier.

2. To ensure that your flight is peaceful, you need to keep your children busy while in the air. Many airlines offer video games, seat-back movies, activity books, comic books, and coloring books. You can also bring your own crayons, paper, puzzle books, toys, and game books. It will keep the kids entertained and focused during the flight and allow you to relax.

3. Many airlines will offer snacks; however, the food they distribute is not always suitable for children. Bring your kids favorite snacks and drinks. Do not give them food items that are high in sugar because it can cause them to become hyper during the flight. Water and juice are good choices. Other food items that are good choices include: bread sticks, small boxes of dry cereal, carrot sticks, apple pieces, raisins, bananas, rice cakes, and dried fruit.

4. When planning where you will stay once you arrive at your destination, choose an accommodation that caters to children. There are many resorts and hotels that provide free meals for kids and even allow children to stay for free. Some places also offer children's activities, cribs, babysitting services, and recreational facilities for children.

5. It is important to keep children healthy, happy, quiet, and safe during the flight. When changing altitudes, children will often experience ear pain. For infants, you can lessen the pain and screaming by giving them a pacifier or a bottle. You can give older children gum to chew.

Because flying with children can be stressful, the night before the flight, make sure you get a lot rest. You want to make flying with children comfortable and enjoyable. By preparing ahead of the flight and planning how to keep the kids busy during the flight, you can help reduce the chances of problems arising and help ensure the flight is relaxing and fun.

Charleston WV Vacations Regarding Business Retreats

By Leigh Jackson

The idea of a workplace environment being a family structure is often lost on employees during this age of business. When this feeling is lost individuals begin to lose the drive to help the company and boost their productivity. This productivity reduction not only affects the individuals overall performance but if spread wide enough can harm the companies bottom dollar. Charleston WV vacations can offer a solution to companies who desire to remove this nuisance of low productivity and get their employees back on track. Charleston WV vacations offer a style of business retreat where a company can assess the level of employee satisfaction and help to reorient individuals at every level of business with the company's objectives. Charleston WV vacations produce two results, employees that feel confident that their employers respect them and an increased level of productivity that far exceeds the expectations of upper management.

Comparing hotels in Charleston West Virginia is important when organizing this type of event. Having a large meeting area, having a daily hot breakfast, offering free online access and providing full amenities are only a few of the features that an event coordinator should be looking for from hotels in Charleston West Virginia. These may seem odd to focus on when looking for hotel room but they are essential parts in establishing a proper business retreat.

When looking for hotels in Charleston West Virginia it is important to make sure that they have a space that will accommodate all of the individuals involved in your retreat. Some companies make the decision to accept small meeting areas and distribute their meetings to various groups during the course of a day but this does not assist in building the family togetherness that should be a focus of these events. Another necessary feature is the availability or breakfast which is important when finding hotels in Charleston West Virginia because it forces employees to interact outside of the meetings when they have a desire to eat.

Having access to the internet is important to any company employee when looking for hotels in Charleston West Virginia. The internet represents an individual's connection to the outside world for both business and personal needs. If you take your employees and cut them off from family you run the risk of having very uncomfortable employees, counteracting what you are trying to accomplish with your Charleston WV vacations.

Finally it is important that the hotels in Charleston West Virginia that you consider have the ability to accommodate everyone that is coming. Nothing is more demoralizing to an employee than when they have to stay at another hotel outside of the bulk of the employees. Many times when hotel accommodations are an issue a company will send their upper management to a different hotel but this is also counterproductive. Separating management and associates by hotel will only serve to widen the gap that exists between the two entities.

A business retreat can do a great deal of good for a company and its employees. In the same hand these retreats can do severe damage when the event is not coordinated effectively. Remember that when on these retreats every action sends a message so be cautious regarding your moves.

Attractions In Weston-super-mare In Somerset

By Frederick Hoymer

The West country of England has some beautiful areas for any local or foreign visitor to see. Weston-Super-Mare is one such town on the sea that offers a wonderful collection of attractions for any holidaymaker. In the 19th century the town started to look to attract interest away from the local city of Bristol and used its lovely beach-front to build a budding tourist industry.

This tourism is based around the very large expanse of beach, which is lined with a large and expansive promenade. The town adopts a typical English sea-side scene with the sights and smells that go with it. Fish and chip shops line the street, piers stretch out into the water and small amusement areas with rides and gift shops dot the area.

However, below the surface there is much more to this old seaside town. If you visit the local visitors centre you will likely find some local attractions that will interest you. Unlike many beaches around the UK, the beach here is lovely and sandy and on a summers day it can be a glorious place to take the family. Here there are donkey rides and a paddling pool for the kids, a little train that runs along the sea-front, and an aquarium with some exotic species of marine life that you will be unlikely to encounter in the cold British waters.

There is also a grand pier stretching out into the sea that provides one of the towns most appealing draws. With a pavilion stationed at the end together with a small fun-fare and numerous little food, drink and gift shop stands, there is a little bit for everyone to enjoy.

Furthermore on the pier there is a playhouse theatre that puts on various productions all year round for its 700 person capacity. For other musical attractions the beach plays host to various concerts during the summer, the primary one being the large concert run by the entertainment channel T4 that brings in musical acts from all over the world for a nationally televised event.

There are also cultural attractions for those with more discerning tastes, such as various museums and art galleries. Top of the list for anyone interested however is the helicopter museum that houses an enormous collection of different helicopters to rival any in the world.

Finally the area has a beautiful topographical look and there are some lovely walks for the trekkers amongst you. There is something for everyone in Weston and it is a top destination for a local British holiday.

The Hidden Costs of Fees and Surcharges for Flights

By Dale Miller

Many of us look at price as the bottom line when we book flights across the country. However, we may not realize that hundreds of dollars could be added onto our original ticket price in surcharges and fees by the time our flight is over. Cheap travel deals still exist, but Americans will perhaps have to make a few concessions when flying in 2010. When you're looking for a cheap airline flight, there are many things to consider.

Many individuals grumble about the expense of a flight nowadays. One criticism is that "surcharges and taxes keep getting higher." A few of these ticket surcharges are automatically added on, yet others are totally avoidable.

For example, you won't be able to avoid some of the fees and taxes concerning airport security, such as the Passenger Facility Charges, the Federal Domestic flight Segment Fee, the 9/11 Security Fee, the US International Arrival tax, the US Customs fee, the US International Departure tax, the Immigration fee and an Animal and Plant Health Inspection fee.

On the other hand, you can avoid a $10-20 surcharge to buy your airline flight over the phone with American Airlines, US Airways, Southwest and Jet Blue by purchasing a cheap airline ticket online instead. You can also take special care not to require a reservation change, which could charge you anywhere from $30 to $250. Pack light, as checked luggage surcharges range from $50-$100. You will also need to be more flexible in your seating preferences, now that airlines are charging $7 for an aisle or window seat or $20 to sit in an emergency exit row. Northwest now charges customers $25-$100 to redeem frequent flier miles, while several other airlines require that your miles be redeemed by phone (so they can get that $10-$20 surcharge).

Checked baggage airline flight fees have really gone out of control, some passengers say. Almost all major U.S. carriers, with the exception of Southwest, are charging to check bags for most passengers. United has announced a "Premier Baggage" plan that costs $249/year, which allows up to 8 travelers on the same confirmation number the ability to check two standard bags each, without paying extra. Of course, this plan still does not cover overweight or oversized bags. Mileage Premier Plus fliers are exempt from first and second bag fees, which cost $20-$30 for other passengers. The airlines with the highest baggage fees include American Airlines, Delta, US Airways and United. The airlines with the lowest baggage fees and cheap travel deals include Southwest, Frontier, Jet Blue and Air Tran.

Travel from the UK to Marseille

By Tom Martens

The third largest city in France after Paris and Lyon, Marseille (sometimes spelled Marseilles in the UK) is rapidly becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. Heathrow and Gatwick Airports in London serve the city with multiple departures every day. The city's main airport, Marseille Provence Airport, is the fourth most trafficked airport in the whole of France. Business travelers and tourists alike crowd its terminals. Once travelers disembark at the airport, they enjoy excellent local public transportation.

Marseille lies on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea on the southeast coast, the Cote-d-Azur, of France. It has the country's largest commercial port. The Old Port that fell into disuse after the'70s oil crises has been redeveloped into a bustling residential and tourist destination with assistance from the European Community.

The old port area is now home to restaurants, bars, cafes, hotels and other businesses and is primarily used as a private marina. The new port area is north of the old port area, and 100 million tons of freight pass through this port each year. The majority of the freight is petroleum. The city is a major center for trade and industry with excellent transportation infrastructure, including its port, airport and roads. It is one of the main entry points into France, making it popular with immigrants, especially those from Italy, Spain and Greece.

With its location on the Mediterranean Sea, Marseille has mild winters and hot summers. The coldest months of the year are January and February, with July and August being the area's hottest months. Harsh, cold winds blow into the city from the Alps in the winter and spring.

The city also boasts Marseille Provence Metropolis, the second largest research center in France. The research center employs thousands of scientists.

But besides all the industry, UK travelers will find no shortage of museums, theaters, shops, bars, cafes, and restaurants in Marseille. Lovers of theater will be especially pleased by the wonderful repertoires of le Gymnase, the Teatre Toursky, and la Crie?. The opera season runs from September until June.

Like other areas of France, Marseille is well-known for its incredible food. Local favorites include pastis, which is an alcoholic beverage similar to beer made with aniseed and spice. Other popular items are aioli (mayonnaise) served on fish or hardboiled eggs, tapenade, bouillabaisse, panisse, and navette. All dishes are made with local ingredients, which make them very flavorful. Many restaurants can be found in the city?s Old Port area, which is the site of a daily fish market. The Old Port area is very beautiful at night, making it a popular spot for a long evening meal.

Noteworthy architecture in the city includes the Abbey of Saint Victor, one of the first places of Christian worship in France, and the Phare de Sainte Marie, a lighthouse lying on an inlet in the Old Port, as well as Museum of Old Marseille.

With everything that Marseille offers UK tourists, it is easy to see why it is growing in popularity as a vacation destination every year.
