Brisbane's Most Famous Island

By Kathy Smith

In between the mainland and North Stradbroke Island, Moreton's most famous, are smaller islands laid out across the bay. These islands are close enough to Brisbane that many of the residents commute to the city on a daily basis.

Named for its red cliffs Coochie Mudlo Island is the perfect place for family swimming and boating. In July you can enjoy a re-enactment festival of how Matthew Flinders landed there 200 years ago. You can also dine at Matthew Flinders Caf, year round, and admire the bay views. Ferry and barge services leave from Victoria Point.

In the Southern Bay Islands, Macleay Island has a population of about 2500. Russell Island is the largest of the Southern Moreton Bay islands with a population of over 3000 people and is becoming increasingly popular as a weekend retreat or retirement destination. It has shops, a supermarket, and cafe and there are holiday homes to rent and a hotel. You can walk the whole way around Lamb Island as it is only 2km by 1km but has very large views. Kangarra Island is the smallest of the inhabited islands and is a quiet spot with no shops so go prepared with your own picnic. There are dozens of smaller islands too which you will see if you go boating in the area but be prepared with good maps and safety equipment.

Historically, St Helena Island is the most interesting. The island was once hunting grounds for local tribes. In 1828, Napoleon Bonaparte was sent to St. Helena after becoming troublesome for the jail at Dunwich, on the North Stradbroke Island.

Forty years later, overcrowding in mainland prisons prompted the government to turn St Helena Island into a penal settlement and after clearing rain forest for timber and to prevent escapes, gardens were planted and houses built from coal blocks and clay. In some respects it was the model system; prisoners were taught a trade and were even paid for their labor and there were only three escapes in 65 years - This may have been because of an ever present large quantity of sharks whose presence were actively encouraged by the wardens !! The last inmate left in 1933.It is possible to tour the island for the day or for a night-tour and these days you will find the stone houses, the Deputy Superintendents house, now a museum and lots of photographs from the prison era.

How To Get Flights To Tenerife

By Susan Renolds

Flying to Tenerife is easy any time of year with wide a selection of low-fare airlines and UK and Ireland airports.

Airports:

Aberdeen Belfast Birmingham Blackpool Bournemouth Bristol Cardiff Cork Doncaster Dublin Durham Tees Edinburgh Exeter Gatwick Glascow Leeds Liverpool Luton Manchester Newcastle Norwich Nottingham Shannon Stansted

Airlines:

British Airways Jet2 Monarch Scheduled Aerlingus Ryanair Thomsonfly Flyglobespan

Flights to Tenerife are very reasonable, currently staring at around-8. The largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife is a popular destination among UK travelers. Tenerife generally has two busy seasons. The first is during the winter when it experiences an influx of older tourists escaping winter's chill. The second extends from May to October, with families and college students on holiday.

The world-famous Tenerife Carnival is held in February in Santa Cruz. Held in the two weeks before Lent, Tenerife Carnival rivals Rio for size and grandeur. The party culminates with a parade and the Burial of the Sardine, in which a huge model sardine is carried through the streets, followed by mourners, and eventually burned.

You will likely find the best deals in the off-season. The climate is fairly constant, so you'll still be able to enjoy the beaches and attractions in less-crowded conditions.

There are two airports on Tenerife. Most traffic comes into Tenerife South Reina Sofia Airport (TFS), which also offers more than 100 connecting flights to additional destinations. Tenerife North handles inter-island flights for island hoppers. You can also take the ferry to explore the other Canary Islands.

The Canary Islands are known as the Islands of Eternal Springtime for a reason. There is little difference between summer and winter temperatures with winter temperatures bottoming out at-C. Summer months are balmy but comfortable. But, as an illustration of this island's contrasts, the average annual temperature at the inland the Teide National Park is only 9C.

As you would expect, Tenerife offers white, sandy beaches and a lively night life. Beyond the usual tourist attractions, visitors find vast natural beauty and splendid landscapes. The snow-capped Mount Teide rises from the center of the island, providing its breathtaking backdrop. In the north, you'll find a variety of wildlife and their habitats, ranging form rugged rocky coves to lush greenery. Farther south, the beaches stretch in the sun - home to resorts like Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos.

Tenerife's capital city, Santa Cruz, offers tax-free shopping for bargain hunters. The Mercado de Nuestra Senora de Africa, an Artistic Historical Monument, has galleries of merchants of all varieties surrounding a central courtyard and clock tower. One of Spain's largest ports, this cosmopolitan city also offers parks and historical theaters.

Cable rides to the top of Mount Tiede, one of the world's largest volcanoes, will offer spectacular views from the highest point in the Atlantic Ocean.

For children of all ages, the Monkey Zoo is a must. Located in Los Cristianos, most of the animal cages are open for visitors to walk into. You can buy food for the animals at the entrance, so you are guaranteed an up-close experience with a variety of animals including ring-tailed lemurs and iguanas.

Flights from Belfast

By Craig Wilson

There are two airports serving Belfast there is Belfast International Airport and George Best Belfast City Airport. Belfast City in nearer to the city centre whilst Belfast International is about twenty minutes drive away. Both airports have adequate public transport between them making it easy to get to and from the airports

Belfast flights between the UK generally fly into Belfast City Airport whilst most of the European ones use Belfast International Airport. There are however some domestic flights between the UK and Belfast.

Belfast Flights to New York or flights to Cancun, Vancouver and Orlando flights from Belfast are all departing from Belfast International with airlines such as Continental, Fly Globespan, Air Transat and Zoom.

Without the arrival of the low cost carries the flight destinations from Belfast would not have grown so fast. You can even get a Belfast flight from Blackpool saving you a lot of hassle rather than having to take a ferry.

If you are travelling on a flight to Belfast it would be a good idea to check and see if the flight route you require is served by both Belfast Airports. A good example of this would be a Belfast flight from Blackpool, which is served by two airlines and one has flights into Belfast City and the other goes into Belfast International. London Flights to Belfast offer even more options and combinations as you can fly from both Belfast Airports and get a flight to more than one London Airport.

Another advantage of having two airports is that airlines often compete on routes and use different airports. A good example of this is a flight from Birmingham to Belfast City with Flybe. There is nothing stopping you travelling to or from Belfast City and returning into Belfast International. Bmibaby also have flights from Birmingham but this time into Belfast Internaional.

Another great thing about the arrival of the cheaper airlines you can now go on a short break from Belfast to a great destination in Europe. No longer do you have to waste time travelling via Manchester or London and wait for a connecting flight. You can now get a direct flight giving you more time enjoying a new city.

How To Have Good Flights With Your Kids

By Graham McKenzie

Families use to take their children on road trips for vacation. Now parents are taking the children on flights around the world. If you are planning to take your kids on cross country flights for vacation you may be asking yourself how in the world will I get through this?

When travelling with younger children you can hold them on your lap as opposed to buying them their on seat. If you have your child on your lap do not worry when the seat belt light come on. Flights have an extension on the seat belts for just this situation. By the age of two, children must have their own seat.

There is a rule that only one child can be on your lap, so it is best to bring another adult if you have more than one infant. If you do not mind spending the extra money you can buy another seat and bring along a car seat to place your child in.

This is more expensive than the lap method but you can actually move around, eat, and read. Things you can not normally do while holding an infant on your lap. When travelling with an infant you must be prepared because the airline will not have the things your baby will need.

You will want to pack several diapers and extra bottles. There are other things that your baby will need and you need to bring them too but we all know that diapers and bottles are the most important. When travelling with children two or older, airlines usually have a few things they can give your child.

If you have forgotten something to keep your child busy with, which I really suggest that you not do the airlines will help. They usually have coloring books and crayons, little toys in a goody bag, and you can usually get them a kids' meal as well. When you book your flights be sure to tell them your child's age. You can usually have meals for the children and baby food if you tell them in advance.

The best tips I can give you is to travel during down times. If you can book a flight that is not full or one that is at the time your child sleep or naps you may have a better flight. Also you should make a check list before you start packing for flights to be sure you have everything your child will need.

Safety Tip For Driving Your Australian Rental Vehicle

By Jason Hall

The best form of transportation, to see the Queensland sights, is by car. If you do not enjoy taking tours, traveling by car is the only way to see the out of the way places. Super, diesel and unleaded fuel is available at all petrol stations and LPG (gas) is available in populated areas but not always in the remote service stations. Depending on place and time the price of gas varies, however it always goes up on weekends and bank holidays.

When trying to choose what rental company to use you should consider a company that gives unlimited kilometers. Larger companies sometimes offer one-way rentals, pick up your automobile in one town and drop it off when you reach your destination, but you need to be sure of any restrictions. 4WD and camper vans are the most popular rentals. A 4WD allows you to get right into the natural wonders that most travelers miss. However, the insurance on these tend to be high and don not cover any off road damage.

Queensland has a few multi lane highways but most major roads are sealed with two lanes. You don't have to go too far off the beaten track to get onto dirt roads, its quite common if you want to see the countryside. Kangaroos are a common hazard on Australian roads and if you are traveling at any sort of speed, hitting one can make quite a mess of your car, not to mention the kangaroo so be alert when they are most active - dawn and dusk.

Traveling at night time, in Australia, is one the most dangerous times. This is due to the animals that come out at dusk. If you are driving and find that there is a large animal in from of you you should, hit the brakes and dim your lights. Swerving should only be an option if it is safe to do so. Many traveler have been in fatal accidents because of swerving away from the animal, as they drove into something else. Although traumatic, is is safer to hit he animal then to swerve, in many instances.

Drunk driving is a serious problem problem along the east coast and in country areas. In attempts to address this issue, there are random breath testing station or booze buses that test for drugs and substance abuse, along the roadsides. If your blood-alcohol level is greater than 0.05% you will have your license taken away and be faced with a large fine. Parking fines are also a danger in major cities and tourist towns, although parking in the right places may cost, it is cheaper then receiving a parking ticket.

Ayr - South Ayrshire A Taste Of Original English Culture

By Frederick Hoymer

Situated in the firth of Clyde, to the southwest of Scotland, Ayr is the biggest county, port and a town in Ayrshire all told. Being also a centre of administration for southern Ayrshire council area this port town supports nearly 46,000 people.

The county of Ayr has a very rich history, shortly after the first castle was built by Ayr's riverside, king William, the lion created a burgh here. The very first parliament for Scotland was also held here by Robert the Bruce.

Lying on the mouth of river Ayr, Ayr is a coastal town. Most of the land being flat and low lying, however much of the land towards the south of Ayr is higher than most other areas in the county of Ayrshire. It lies an approximate 35 miles southwest of Glasgow. Due to the close proximity of the sea, Ayr experiences mild winters and cool summers. Generally rainfall s mild and the area almost never see any fog or mist. Even snowfall is very rare here due to the overall mild climatic conditions.

Industry has flourished slowly but steadily through time, mainly because of river Ayr. Ship building in the eighteenth century made a landmark in improvement on Ayr's economy. Part of the harbor still functions as a commercial port. With the first departmental store, Ayr has been a centre of shopping in south Scotland.

Part of the historic port in Ayr still functions today, its main exports being coal and fish. Ayr has been a hub for shopping for all of south Scotland, having a port in times past and also being the first county to have a functioning departmental store since 1896.

The county is well connected. With three main roads connecting the port county from outlying areas, though ferry services are not yet available, the county has its own railway station. Just two miles away from Ayr lies the Glasgow Prestwick international airport which effectively connects the area with the rest of Scotland, or one could drive 35 miles to Glasgow airport whence many other locations worldwide are accessible.

Improvements to the county of Ayr are slow but constant; tourists can enjoy the beach with various facilities including shelters, pleasure cruises, lavatory accommodation, sea wall, sweet meat machines as well as bath machines. For sure Ayr is the most favorite tourism spot in the area save perhaps Glasgow.

The Sunshine Coast Back Story

By Zane Archer

There is a weird group of volcanic crags about 20 km north of Caboolture called The Glass House Mountains. The story of them is called the Weeping Mountain and his Wayward Son. It is an aboriginal legend that tells of the rocks being a family of Mountain Spirit's.

It is said that the Mountain Spirits were reigned over by Tibrogargan, who is said to be the father of all tribes. His wife, Beerwah and he had children, of which Coonowrin was the oldest. He also had twin sibling, Tunbubudla and Coochin, as well as Ngngun, Tibberoowuccum, Miketeebumulgrai and Elimbah.

One day Tibrogargan was looking out towards the coast when he noticed the sea level rising. Anticipating a flood, he became fearful for Beerwah who was close to the water. But he was also concerned about his children and would not be able to save them all. So Tibrogargan called to his eldest son Coonowrin to help his mother. As Tibrogargan gathered his younger children he looked behind him to see if Coonowrin and Beerwah were safe, but to dismay Coonowrin had fled and left his mother unassisted. In a blinding rage, Tibrogargan picked up his club and struck Coonowrin dislocating his neck.

When the flood went down, the family could go back home. When his siblings saw his crooked neck, Coonowrins felt ashamed from their teasing. He went to his father to ask for his forgiveness. His father wept large tears of despair, asking why he didn't help his own mother. The son responded that she was bigger than them all and should have been able to take care of herself. What he did not know what that she was very pregnant. The siblings all began to weep, forming many streams reaching to the sea.

According to the law of the tribe, Tibrogargan could not forgive his son who had disgraced him so he turned his back on Coonowrin forever. To this day Tibrogargan faces out to sea while his son hangs his crooked neck in same and cries. As for Beerwah, well she is still pregnant.

The Coastal City Of Swansea Neath - Port Talbot

By Frederick Hoymer

The coastal city of Swansea Neath - Port Talbot, Wales (in actuality, Swansea refers also to the county, and Neath Port Talbot is more properly a county borough) is part of the historic Vale of Glamorgan. It has a current population -- when all areas considered part of Swansea are added in -- of around 271,000 people, though most would say that it actually has 171,000 or so in its urban area.

It is easy to become somewhat confused about what is and isn't Swansea, Swansea Neath or Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and just what area is sitting in what Welsh county, county borough or wider urban area within a unitary authority in Wales. What's not so hard, though, is to appreciate the area for all that it offers in terms of tourist and sightseeing opportunities.

Swansea is located along the southwestern coastline of Wales in a stretch of sandy coast. It's the second most populous city in Wales next to Cardiff and was quite a big player in the global copper industry of the 19th century. It earned the nickname 'Copperopolis' for its almost fanatic devotion to working with that particular metal.

The region in and around the city has shown evidence of human settlement in all three of the major ages (Stone, Bronze and Iron). Additionally, the Romans were quite active in the area as well as the Vikings at one time. In fact, Swansea itself started as an old Viking trading port and its name comes from the Old Norse.

Being a port, Swansea dealt in various goods throughout the ages, including wool and wines and, of course, coal. Swansea also had a workforce skilled in the manufacture and use of many different metal alloys other than just copper. The 18th and 19th centuries were probably the two most prosperous time periods for this city, it must be said.

Swansea made sure that it was fully involved in the progress gained during the Industrial Revolution, not only from coal mining but several other heavy industries and the work done around its port. The 20th century hit Swansea hard on several occasions and it was in a period of general decline throughout the entire time, it seems. Nowadays, the city is undergoing an extensive renaissance, though.

Port Talbot -- sometimes referred to as Neath Port Talbot -- is tied in with Swansea in a number of different ways, including as a part of the Vale of Glamorgan. And though Swansea is also a county, the area of Port Talbot proper is probably far more closely associated with Swansea than it is with its own status as a separate county. At any rate, both the city and the county are fine examples of Welsh living.

Beautiful Heart-Shaped Jewelry

By Betsy Johnson

The "heart shape" often conjures up thoughts of love and romance. It has worked its way into our treasured annual holidays like St. Valentine's Day, into greeting cards and gifts, and into our jewelry designs as well. As we all know, jewelry is often made out of precious metals like gold and silver, and precious gems like diamonds and emeralds, and by incorporating the "heart shape" we are produce an object that displays the eternal ideas of romance, love, caring, and belonging. We will now explore the origins of heart jewelry, the "heart shape symbol", and the world's most famous heart-shaped diamond.

When we think of the spiritual, emotional, moral, and intellectual core of humans, what symbol comes to mind? For most of us it is the "heart shape". The heart shape is often shown in the color "red" as this depicts both blood (it is the heart that pumps blood through the body) and intense emotion. What emotion can possibly be stronger than that of true love?

One of the most rare gems in nature is the "heart-shaped" diamond. I said rare...but they do exist. Perhaps the most famous example of this type of gem is the "Blue Heart" Diamond. Also called the "Eugenie Blue", many people consider it to be the best example of a blue diamond that the world has ever seen. It's debatable whether the Hope Diamond is more famous, but it's the unique heart shape of the "Blue Heart" that really makes it stand out from the crowd. When you are looking for an object that exemplifies pure elegance and simplicity, its hard look farther than the "Blue Heart".

The "Blue Heart" is a 30.82 metric carat diamond. It is thought to be of either African or Indian origin. The original rough diamond was cut by Antanik Ekyanan of Neuilly, Paris in either 1909 or 1910. It's current dimensions are: 20mm x 19mm x 12mm.

An Argentinian woman named Mrs. Unzue sold the diamond to Cartier in 1910. She had set the diamond into a corsage, and it was in this setting when it was sold to Van Cleef and Arpels in 1953.

An European family ended up with the diamond next, and they sold it to a gentleman named Harry Winston in 1950. He placed this heart jewelry gem into a ring and sold it to Marjorie Merriweather Post. Now on to it's final resting place... Marjorie Merriweather Post donated it to the Smithsonian Institution, and this wonderful example of heart jewelry is on display here today. For trivia buffs, three of the world's most famous diamonds, the "Blue Heart", the Hope, and the Heart of Eternity were all on display at the Smithsonian at one time.

Do You Spend More Cash And Time On the Plane For No Reason

By Jim Bonetti

I always questioned why holidaymakers in Britain would want to go to locations like the Dominican Republic for a summer holiday. I have nothing against the Dominican Republic or any of the Caribbean destinations. Can they offer anything extra than you can find at one of the many popular holiday locations in around the Mediterranean.

Why would you consider sitting on a plane for around twice as long as you possibly need. This is made even worse if you have young children who are not going to treasure being stuck in a seat on an aircraft for this length of time.

For many holidaymakers a trip to the Caribbean involves one of the all inclusive deals as the cost of food on drink on some of the Caribbean Islands can be very expensive. They spend all their vacation time in the holiday compound, which is in all chance located next to a sandy beach. The accommodation offers entertainment at night and you have all your drinks included with your all inclusive deal.

You could be anyplace in the world so why pay extra to travel all the way to the Caribbean. You can be in Spain in approximately 2 hours and stay in an all inclusive complex if you want. This way you can spend more cash on the grade of accommodation or pay less and get the same standard as in the Caribbean.

A suntan is a suntan and anybody looking at you when you return back from your holiday is not going to be able to tell where you got your suntan. So if all you are worried about is in is lying by the pool to get a suntan why journey further than you have to. All you are doing is spending more cash on a long haul flight, which may be either kept or spent on acquiring a better hotel or for more spending money.

Prior to reserving a vacation, think about what you really want and then have a search at the optimal options for your needs. It is your vacation so it is important to make sure you get the best one you can.

Costa Rica Budget Travel: An Essential Primer

By Victor Krumm

Popular Costa Rica has been a favorite vacation destination for Americans, Canadians and, increasingly, Europeans, for many years. Though it is one of the smaller countries on the globe, about the size of West Virginia, its many attractions are world-famous: nearly 800 miles of uncrowded coastlines on two oceans; parks and reserves covering more than a quarter of its land area; and a staggering diversity of plants and animals.

Many visitors come to see its volcanoes. Others travel Costa Rica to enjoy outstanding fishing. Thousands enjoy the great year round surfing, rafting, ziplining high in the tropical jungles, and, of course, partying after dark. What happens in Costa Rica stays in this little country (unless you want to brag about your adventures on Facebook).

You will find a vacation for everybody's budget. For the rich, celebrated, or folks who want to vacation like they are rich and famous, there are places like the Papagayo Four Seasons and Los Suenos Resorts. But, if these are a bit pricey unless you win the lottery or if you prefer more rustic accommodations, you can get around Costa Rica quite nicely on a more limited budget.

1. Save twenty percent or more on hotels and resorts: Observe travel seasons

a. Do not travel Peak Season. The week before Christmas through New Years week (December 15-January 5) and Easter Week are Peak Season not only for tourists but for Costa Rica residents, too. Costa Rica schools are out, many governmental agencies and private businesses close, and thousands of Ticos migrate to the most popular beaches. They will find the best bargains; you will pay the highest premium prices.

b. High Season coincides with winter in the Northern Hemisphere. Many tourists travel Costa Rica between January through April because of the sunny tropical weather, a fact not lost on hotels and resorts. Like Florida, Arizona, and the Texas coast, Snowbirds get plucked a bit more during High Season. Prices are better than in Europe or America but you can do better.

c. The prudent bargain travel seeker will assiduously plan to travel to Costa Rica during the Green (Low) Season because the very best travel and accommodation bargains occur then. Improvidently, some travelers mistakenly take it for granted that it rains every day though, indeed, most days are sunny and warm. Typically rains last an hour or so and occur in the afternoon or early evening. Many college students and families from the northern countries visit between June and mid-August but prices are good and accommodations available in most places. For the inveterate bargain hunter come between September through mid-November. Savings of 20-35 percent off High Season prices are commonly found.

2. Save $25 a day when renting a car by planning ahead

If you rent a car on the internet like so many others, you should expect to learn when you get to Costa Rica that the rental agency is going to charge an additional fee of $25 or more per day for liability insurance! Rule 1: If your automobile policy at home includes liability coverage, that insurance is all you need to rent a car in Costa Rica. Recommendation: bring a copy of the policy along with the email and facsimile number of your insurance agent and save that money for your vacation. Rule 2: Many credit cards offer a little known benefit: liability insurance coverage for rentals when the card is used. Contact your credit card company before you travel for best results.

3. Save at least five percent on purchases because Cash is King

Many Costa Rica merchants welcome dollars over credit cards and when asked for a cash discount will offer 5 percent or more. You need to ask :"Que (pronounced "K") es discuento por efectivo?" which means "What is the discount for cash?" Be sure the bills are new and not defaced with even a tiny tear. And, bring $20 and $50 bills. Many restaurants, merchants, and hostels cannot break a $100 bill.

4. Save 10 percent while dining: Do not pay two tips in a restaurant

Suppose you could frequently save 10 percent when you eat in a restaurant. Most tourists do not know that a large number of restaurants in Costa Rica, particularly those popular with foreign travelers who cannot read in Spanish, automatically include a 10 percent tip (called "servicio") on a patron's bill. They have learned that many vacationers unsuspectingly then leave another gratuity. However, the knowledgeable budget travel patron looks for the word "servicio" (or another word that involves an extra ten percent charge).

Spa Treatment

By Justin Davey

Choosing what to do on a weekend break to relax, seems to present itself with endless possibilities, but depending on what you desire to achieve in this short break, really determines, which options are available to you. If you are looking for more than just a hotel break, then a spa may be just the thing for you, to free yourself from that endless daily routine and stresses of life.

Traditional one would go away for 1 or 2 nights in a hotel and be satisfied with that short break, but now the demand for spa's has greatly risen. Many hotels have been replaced with spa's, or even better, large resorts have had spa's built into their facility.

There are always those particular places of interest in any major city and this certainly has its spots. There is normally one main attraction that defines the landscape or more obscure places that are really interesting and well worth the visit.

The main university is the probably one of the most famous places in the city. It consists of 31 famous colleges, which are accessible via a guided tour. Moggerhanger Park is a very historic landmark. It is a Georgian Grade I house which stands tall in the Bedfordshire Countryside. Over time is has undergone a process of renovation and it seems to fit the original design of Sir John Soane.

A spa can be found in densely populated areas, but usually cater to the society in which they are placed, so be sure you know what you are signing up to before to make any rash decisions, otherwise your weekend in paradise can go very wrong.

Everybody deserves to be pampered now and again, so if you can afford it, do not be afraid to splash out on yourself now and again. Do not let all the money you earn be spent purely on just getting by, everybody deserves to live a little.

There are a varitey of activities to do in the city regardless of the particular season. In the summertime, you can enjoy the best in music, drama and dance in the Cambridge's Corn Exchange Festival. There are also the firework displays and folk festival which annual features in the city.

Gay Vacations To Wonderful France

By Howie Holben

Whether as a stop on a tour through Europe, or a standalone gay vacation destination, France offers travelers world-renowned beaches, snow-covered alps, bucolic countryside dotted with castles and remnants of Frances long history, some of the most amazing art collections in the world, the fabulous French Riviera and, of course, the truly exceptional, unique city of Paris.

People often do their gay vacations around Paris and its vibrant LGBT community, cultural and historical landmarks and accepting cosmopolitan environment, visitors will find that throughout France there is plenty to do and see, as well as many LGBT establishments and a welcoming atmosphere. Laws outlawing sodomy were abolished over 200 years ago and Frances LGBT community has enjoyed civil unions for the last decade. With legal protections in place and a general laissez-faire attitude that is common among the French, visitors will find that France provides an accepting, and pleasant destination for gay tours.

There are several community events throughout the year, including a huge pride parade and festival and a gay and lesbian film festival in Paris, as well as several smaller pride celebrations across the country. Other Paris attractions that should not be missed on a gay vacation include ArtMenParis, an art gallery devoted solely to images of men; Legay Choc, an LGBT-owned bakery in the Marais district; and Chez Michou, Madame Arthur and LArtishow, cabarets featuring female impersonators. As for the Paris nightlife, bars are typically open from afternoon until 2am; whereas, clubs often do not open until midnight and stay open as late as noon.

For men who are interested in experiencing the bawdier side of Parisian life, sex clubs, cruising spots and bars with backrooms are easy to find for visitors on gay vacations. Paris is also home to a plethora of saunas, also known as bathhouses, which are popular attractions for both locals and visitors. Saunas are not open 24-hours in France and do not have private rooms to rent. For privacy, visitors can enjoy relaxation cubicles and out-of-towners should keep in mind that going to a sauna is a primarily afternoon activity in Paris, with Sunday afternoons being the most crowded.

While most gay travel destinations cater largely to men, women will find that Paris has a lively lesbian scene that includes everything from a lesbian walking group to a sex shop just for the girls. The Marais district is the center of LGBT life in Paris, and women will find a distinct Sapphic presence there, with bars and clubs that are located mostly at the south end. Ladies will also find several venues sprinkled throughout other neighborhoods, such as the Halles-Beaubourg, Palais Royal, Grands Boulevards and Saint Germain des Pres districts. There is also a bookshop in the Bastille-Republique district and one of the oldest lesbian bars in the city is located in the Palais Royal area.

Paris is sure to remain the most popular spot for a gay trip in France; however there are several other places to choose from, including Nice and Montpellier on the Mediterranean, Annecy in the Alps, Nantes in Brittany and Avignon in Provence, as well as the well-known LGBT beaches in Camargue, where nudism is the norm. Folks who would like to play among the rich and famous should definitely head to Saint Tropez on the French Riviera, while those in search of a more romantic respite might prefer an LGBT-owned bed and breakfast on the outskirts of Bourdeaux. With so many gay travel options available throughout France, it is clear that this diverse, unique country is the perfect choice for gay romantic travel.

Spa Holiday Resort

By Justin Davey

Spa is a little town, with less than 11000 people, but is still well known as a city of a wide variety of distinctions. Spa is located in Belgium and is known to be Europe's oldest health resort, as well as being the world's first Casino. Simply Amazing.

Although it is quite small, the history that Sap has, is nothing short of amazing. Many greats from across the globe have taken their time to visit such a place, and there is no reason why you cannot be next. A place of miracles some may call it, as it possessed natural water which has be shown to heal many in the past.

Although currently Spa does not attract such a wide crowd, it is still widely known for its bottled mineral water, which is still one of biggest sellers across the globe. Spa is still known for its cycling community and cross-country skiing, and the ice skating that takes place during the winters.

If you want to get in touch with history, then why not visit the Hotel Brittanique. It was once the headquarters of the German Kaiser during the 1st world war, now turned boarding school.

Although it is considered old fashioned, the town does in no way come up short in terms of having the ability to entertain its much loved tourist. With such a beautiful landscape and a culture to be mesmerised by, there is no reason why every moment cannot be cherished.

If you love to drink then you must know that beer is 2nd to none on the diet of the Belgians. So if you are the type to be looking for a few messy events, you can be certain Belgium shall not be of any disappointment.

So if you are looking to get away, even if just for a weekend short break. Be sure to take full advantage of what is available on offer in Spa.

Conscious Gay Vacations

By Howie Holben

There is not much free time in our daily lives, and so often we are multi-tasking throughout each day, that we can lose track of the important things in life. This is why our vacation time is so critical to our well-being and personal growth. Today, there are many vacation options available to meet these requirements.

There are solo vacations, or vacations that include family or a small group of friends. Travelling with people that share your interests and life experience, is another way to go. This is where spiritual journeys become important for the gay community.

On gay vacations, that fact that we are gay is one thing we all share. Knowing that we all have at one thing in common adds to our vacation and our time together. We can quickly create bonds within the group because of this commonality.

People that were at first strangers, become friends quickly and easily. This is one reason gay vacations are great way to travel. Knowing that we are understood by those around us adds an immediate sense of comfort to the group.

Being understood allows us to open up, relax more and let our guard down. This vulnerability lets more of the vacation into our hearts and minds. The more we feel the vacation, the more we recover from the strains of life at home.

If we take vacations with people that have similar goals for the vacation, we can deepen our experience even more. One such goal can be to connect with the spiritual aspects of the place being visited. Then we share our gayness and our quest for connectedness to our world.

Gay vacations that include an exploration of the world and also an exploration of ourselves, can be very powerful. With the support of the others in the group we are able to let our walls down even further and live a freer life. And that's why we took a vacation in the first place, to be freer of life's responsibilities.

Arriving On A Flight To Edinburgh Airport

By Dan Fischer

Like most airports arriving at Edinburgh can be a stressful time if you are note sure what awaits you when you arrive.

That stressful feeling is terrible worrying about what to do and where to go when you arrive at Edinburgh. How do you get to the city centre? What part of Edinburgh is your hotel located in? When you first leave the aircraft you simply need to follow the signs to the passport control area, get you luggage and clear customs then you are on your own.

If you are meeting someone then you could arrange to meet at a designated meeting point or ask the person that is meeting you to suggest a suitable place to meet. They are more likely to know the best place to meet to avoid any confusion and thus avoiding any extra unnecessary stress. The short stay car park is only a few minutes walk from the main terminal building and could be a good place to meet.

Meeting someone at Edinburgh airport? Then arrange to meet them at one of the designated meeting points or get them to suggest a meeting location as they are more likely to know the most suitable part of the airport to meet. If they are collecting you by car then you will only have a short walk to the short stay car park

There is no rail station at Edinburgh Airport however there is a low cost shuttle bus service into the Edinburgh city centre. The shuttle service runs every ten to fifteen minutes. There is also a regular bus service to the city centre as well and is the cheapest option of all. Just look for the coaches displaying the sign Airlink 100 to city centre, the journey time is only twenty five to thirty minutes depending on traffic.

You can hire a car from one of the car rental desks in the airport, however it would be a cheaper option to book online prior to your arrival and get the car you want ready for collection. This will save you money and time and make sure you get the car you want and also to better plan your travel budget.

Motorcycle Romance Novelist

By L.J. James

When I received the Novel "Iron Horse Rider" from the Author Adelle "Legs" Laudan I have to admit I was expecting a book about a Biker fighting and causing trouble. You know your Typical Biker Bad Boy Story. What I received was something I was not expecting at all.

The Novel Tells the story of a hardcore biker named Shane, Shane had always kept women at arms length and showed them no emotion, That was until he met Kelly. Try as he might this biker who had always kept to himself could not fight off his feelings for her and soon found himself Married to the Women of his dreams.

After 10 years of Marriage Kelly is taken from Shane in a Tragic accident while they are Ridding. Shane finds everything around him reminds him of Kelly, His home, his shop, even his Clubhouse. His Brother's try to Support and comfort him, but the looks of sorrow in their eyes for him is more then Shane can bare. He soon realizes staying in the world He has Known and loved is not an option. Soon Shane is on his Iron Horse with the wind in his face and no destination! As Shane rides He finds the pain he feels for his loss begin to lessen!

With advice from a Mysterious Biker he keeps running into, Shane finds himself at a Micmac Indian Camp. Shane is welcomed into the Camp by the Tribes Chief and soon finds himself becoming Friends with the Chief's Daughter Tia who has recently lost her Husband! While the two Share their pain they soon begin to feel something for each other. Is it possible for either of them to feel love again while still suffering from such a great loss? A member of Tia's Tribe is taking no chances and tells Shane to stay away from Tia. He soon finds out you never tell a Biker like Shane what to do!

I found the writing in this novel while in no way simplistic was easy to read. I also found the story easy to follow ! Adelle "Legs" Laudan describes and expresses the feelings of Biker Brotherhood perfectly. When She explains Shane's feelings while Riding you can see in your mind where he is and you can almost feel the wind in your Face!

In life we all have our worlds we live in, When something Terrible happens sometimes We cling to what We know. Shane does what He as a true Biker must after such a terrible loss, He goes out and finds not only a new life but a new World to live in for a while.

I have to say I enjoyed the story. It was not what I was expecting or would usually read but I found I could not put the book down. I think some Men who Ride will enjoy this book, While many I feel will find it a little too much of a Romance novel! I do believe almost all Women who has ever ridden a Motorcycle or dated a Man who rode one will love this Novel.

As I know now Adelle "Legs" Laudan is a writer of Motorcycle Romance Novels, She works to promote the image of Motorcycling one book at a time! To order Iron Horse Rider or other Novels by Adelle "Legs" Laudan including the upcoming Iron Horse Rider 2 go to http://adellelaudan.com/IronHorseRider.html

Kulula

By Susan Renolds

Kulula Air, the recently re-branded kulula.com, is a highly popular low-fare domestic air travel provider in South Africa thanks, in part, to its edgy and humorous marketing message.

In business since 2001, Kulula is owned by Conair Limited. It was named the best domestic airline by the Airport Company of South Africa in 2003 and operates a fleet of Boeing 737s with the following routes: Johannesburg to:

Cape Town Durbs George PE Lusaka Harare Windhoek Ndola Cape Town to: Johannesburg Durbs PE Lanseria Durbs to: Johannesburg Cape Town PE George to Johannesburg PE to: Johannesburg Cape Town Durbs Lusaka to Johannesburg Harare to Johannesburg Windhoek to Johannesburg Lanseria to Cape Town Ndola to Johannesburg.

Travelers receive seat assignments at check-in.

They began by offering flights between Johannesburg and Cape Town. Over the next few years, its route map incorporated destinations in Durban and Port Elizabeth while its number of flights in operation increased. International destinations now include, Blomfontein, Windhoek, Harare, Ndlola, Lusaka and Mauritius.

Recently, South African online shoppers bought some 55,000 airline tickets for R27 million as part of It's 'garage sale." Kulula's mega-website (kulula.com is the country's largest online retailer, handling more than R1.6 billion annually) processed up to 150 flight quotes per second during the shopping frenzy's peak hours. Nearly--5,000 visitors viewed more than one million web pages, shopping for travel specials from October 2008 through January 2009.

Even though they takes a laid back approach, the company has a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. It has imposed a 90% on-time take-off rate goal. According to the company's own records, it has not reached that 90% goal, but is making every effort to eliminate "avoidable delays," those which the company has control over. They do often manage an on-time take-off rate in the high 80s.

With an eye toward simplification and living up to its name (Kulula comes from the Zulu word for "easy"), Kulula Air also offers services to hire a car, book a room or cab easily and affordably. It's website offers even more options, as the brand has branched out into other lines such as cell phones and internet access.

In an effort to provide a full travel experience, It offers easy self-booking on its website. Purchases on a its credit card earns "Kulula Moola" which can be redeemed to purchase flights, and they also offers a Jetsetter rewards program for frequent flyers.

It strives to set itself apart from other airlines. It's unlikely you will forget the Kulula flight during which you heard the flight attendant say, "There may be 50 ways to leave your lover, but there are only 4 ways off this airplane." Or, how about your captain saying "Whoa, boy!" as the plane comes in for a landing? It's planes also sport unique paint schemes such as "cow" and "camo." This airline also promotes environmental issues. One reason it changed its fleet to Boeing 737s is that they consume less fuel than their original fleet of MD82s.

Government Ban On Biker Colors In Bars !

By L.J. James

There is a new law in Virginia that will ban Motorcycle Club Colors in Bars. The law, originally aimed at Street Gangs, is causing quite a stir with Virginia Bikers. The law states that Bar & Restaurant owners will lose their liquor license if they allow patrons who wear "gang" related attire such as Club Logo's or Colored Bandannas.

These sort of "grey area" laws are extremely dangerous and a threat to everyone's freedom. Who decides what constitutes "Gang Apparel"? I'm wondering if Boy Scouts are going to be able to eat together at Applebees if they are in their uniforms.

According to news reports, many Bikers and Motorcycle Club Members in Virginia have already begun fighting this law. If a law like this is allowed to stand in Virginia, it won't be long until it is passed in other states across America!

We as Motorcyclists and Bikers (It does not matter what you call yourself) have to realize fast that we are all connected. It doesn't matter what you ride, what State you live in or who you Support, we're all in this together. What effects Me effects you and it doesn't matter what you happen to think of me.

When the local Bar you and your Brothers love hanging out at is told that you and all other members of Motorcycle Clubs can no longer go there or they will revoke the Bars liquor license, What then?

This is no Joke my Biker Brothers, every month there is another new law that is aimed not only Motorcycle Club Members, but all Americans. It seems that every time the Government wants to take away a freedom, they find a way to craft a new law for our "safety". What kind of Country is this turning into when you can't wear what you want and suddenly, your constitutional right to assemble is taken away from you?

Although there are many ignorant people out there that believe Motorcycle Clubs are Gangs, that's simply not the case. Most Motorcycle Clubs are made up of hard working, honest, law abiding, patriotic, American Citizens who enjoy a common bond, Motorcycles. It's what is in a persons heart that determines who they are, not the clothes they wear.

In the past year the government has taken away the Colors of one Motorcycle Club. A law enforcement officer can demand anyone sporting the Clubs logo to forfeit it. The theory is that the loss of the logo strips the club of its "gang identity."

Grant it, it appears that some of the Clubs members may have been involved in illegal activities, but that doesn't mean that everyone who rides a Motorcycle should be punished for it. In fact, less than 10% of this 600 Member Club was even accused of wrong doing.

In addition, the Government and law enforcement agencies have been spending millions of our dollars to influence friends and ex-members of Motorcycle Clubs in an effort to infiltrate these clubs in hopes of catching members doing something illegal. Often, when they find that the Club they've infiltrated is nothing more than a group of Patriotic, Law Abiding Men & Women, they'll fabric wrong doing so that they can justify the enormous amount of resources spent on these Fishing Expeditions.

Just imagine how much better off we'd all be if they used those resources to investigate the Corrupt Politicians, the Corporations that control our Country, Wall Street, and the other issues that are quickly sinking this great Nation.

What I want to know is, what will be the last straw? What's it going to take for us to say enough is enough? We can not fight these Laws and Fight each other at the same time! We need to work together to save what we are, who we are.

The Government has taken away our rights to ride the Motorcycle we want, to wear what we want and now to go where we want! Why are we still fighting each other? When are we going to wake up??

Hot Jersey Shore Winter Getaways in Sea Isle City

By Stephen Daniels

A beach bound winter getaway may seem backward, but it can also be one of the best times to hit the shore. While areas known for snow and slopes pack in the crowds, the off season at Sea Isle City, New Jersey promises a truly relaxing vacation. It's not the usual cold-weather tourist spot, but that's also what makes a trip to this unique community so enjoyable.

What began as a little fishing village well over 100 years ago is now one of the top resort cities on the Eastern seaboard. Situated in Cape May County, Sea Isle City rests on a barrier island known as Ludlam Island in South Jersey. The city itself was founded by Charles K. Landis in 1882. His dream of turning this town into "America's Venice" didn't work out the way he planned, but that has not kept the city from being a great success in other aspects. With a population of over 100,000 during the summer months, this small community has become quite a hot spot on the Jersey shore.

Its year-round population, however, is only around 3,000. This may partly explain why Sea Isle is known for its hometown feel. Compared to the hustle and bustle of the peak season, life becomes very calm and serene during the winter months. For couples or families looking for some R & R, this change of pace proves to be very inviting.

While business in the local shops and restaurants at the center of town slows down considerably, the city still manages to feature a variety of off-season activities. Winter guests can take part in events such as the Polar Bear Plunge every February, where tens of thousands of people willingly run into the frigid ocean water. Those who don't wish to immerse themselves in icy-cold waves can participate in the Polar Bear Run / Walk for Autism the next Sunday. The St. Patrick's Day Parade and Ocean Drive Marathon are popular events for both tourists and residents which occur every March. Deep sea fishing is also offered year-round. Starfish Boats offers trips for both adults and children right out of the city.

Anyone who has ever vacationed there during the summer can tell you that Sea Isle City offers many outstanding food establishments. Fortunately, this is not lost on winter guests. Many excellent local restaurants, such as Cafe LaRosa, Mrs. Brizzles, and Valeries Place, remain open during the off-season. Many others offer dining hours during select days of the week, so it's good to check times before heading to dinner.

Without losing its hometown ambiance, Sea Isle City offers many reasons why it's becoming a desirable off-season destination. City leaders have recently founded several enjoyable fall festivals, such as Harborfest, Irish Weekend, and Fall Family. Holiday celebrations, like the lighting of the Sea Isle City Christmas Tree and the House Lighting Program, also aim to make winter-time visitors feel like a part of the community. Thanks to the small-town feeling these events create, the laid-back atmosphere, and (of course!) the stunning beaches, visitors will find that this summer destination "peaks" in the winter as well.

The Island of Maui - A Great Location for Your Next Family Reunion

By Stephen Daniels

When you plan your next family reunion, you might be looking for something a little more exciting and relaxing than a potluck at the local park. A trip to Maui, one of the most popular Hawaiian islands for travelers and tourists, might prove to be just the place for an extraordinary family get-together.

There are an endless variety of things to see and do while on the island. Maui is often considered to have the most small town charm among all the islands. It has been voted as the "best island" in the World by Conde Nast Traveler for the 15th time.

Maui is widely known as a tourist destination. It is home to Haleakala, the world's largest dormant volcano. Sunrise on the rim of this volcano is a sight to behold for anyone visiting the island of Maui. When you travel to the 9,400 foot rim of the volcano, you will enjoy being in one of the most stunning places that you've ever seen. Once the sunrise is over, you can take a hike, horseback tour or even a bicycle ride down into the crater of the volcano, making a wonderful day of the complete experience.

Another popular tourist attraction on Maui is whale watching. Tours to spot majestic whales leave daily from the popular and charming city of Lahaina. Exploring Whaler's Village is a good way to see and learn more about the whales of Hawaii. The town also offers excellent shopping, restaurants, and a good time.

The Maui Ocean Center, which is also known as the Hawaiian Aquarium, is another must-see on Maui. Outstanding snorkeling and diving is also available at Molokini, which is a volcano crater. Its rim just barely is visible over the ocean waves, but the crater itself plunges hundreds of feet under the water, creating a snorkelers' and divers' paradise of sorts.

Nature lovers will find what they seek in a hiking tour of Maui's rainforests and secluded waterfalls. These unique hikes take you where no car or truck could venture. A knowledgable guide can educate you about various plants and animals of the region as well as local culture and history. Half or full day hikes are available.

The Tedeschi Winery in Maui's "upcountry," 2000 feet above sea level, is a perfect destination for your family's wine enthusiasts. Having a picnic on the beautiful winery grounds is an enjoyable activity. Of course, the winery allows sampling of a wide variety of wines, including a uniquely delicious pineapple wine.

If your family would like to visit other islands, you can usually plan 1-2 days to travel to and from each island. You can make such journeys in charter boats or small aircraft, depending on which you prefer.

Luxurious beachfront mega-resorts, smaller inns or bed and breakfasts, or private vacation rental homes all offer excellent accommodations on Maui. Whether you want your family reunions on Maui to have a luxurious feel or a more private experience with condos and rental homes, you can choose from many great lodgings to suit your family's tastes and budget. Affordable Hawaii vacations are a possibility, so long as you take the time to see what's out there.

Renting A GPS With Your Next Vehicle Rental

By Jason Hall

Renting a vehicle for your travels can be a stressful thing. You want to make sure you drive as safe as you can and that no damage is done to the vehicle you are driving. you can prepare yourself a little by studying the laws and rules for traveling in this unfamiliar land, but there is not much you can do to learn all the roads, turns and routes that will get you from point A to point B

In light of this fact, many car rental agencies are stepping up to the plate and in addition to offering trailers, roof carriers, ski racks and children's safety seats they are now offering navigation devices to help you get around. Car rental agencies at some select locations are now offering GPS systems to those who are leasing vehicles for the purpose of helping them navigate through these unfamiliar territories.

A GPS system is great for many reason. For starters, the system will get you to your destinations without getting lost. Then their are the extra feature that you will find helpful, such as hospital, restaurant, and points of interest locations. With a GPS system you will have a smooth flowing trip, and eliminate the fear that if you travel to far you will get lost.

Now although the availability on these devices is currently limited, this is believed to be an idea that will really take off. Over the next year, these items should become available at a variety of vehicle rental agencies worldwide to aid in directing the tourist to their destinations more quickly and safely than before. And the thought is that more locations will be offering these devices at a reasonable rate because of the need to keep tourists safe.

If you happen to be renting from a company that does not offer GPS systems then you can always bring one from home. GPS systems are sold in just about every store, and range from a few dollars to hundreds of dollars. Whatever one you decide to purchase will be well worth the cost, as you will never have to worry about getting lost again.

Why Most People Get Travel Packages In Canada

By Adriana Noton

When most people travel to other countries, they will use the service of a travel agency. Many of these agencies will offer travel packages in Canada that have all the necessary information to enjoy the trip. The packages will also cover important information about what is allowed and not allowed to go past the border. They will often discuss some of the festivals and traditions noticed by the natives of that country.

Because the rules and regulations at the Canadian border often change, it is important to know the information vital to crossing the border. A travel package will inform the traveler ahead of time what to expect from the border patrol and what can be expected once they have entered the country.

One of the most important pieces of information when travelling into any foreign country is the conversion of money. It helps to know what value American money has in other countries so you can prepare your financial situation to suit the needs of the traveler. It is much easier to use a credit or debit card because the issuing company will automatically convert the money into an American amount. If cash is used, it needs to be traded in as soon as the traveler crosses the border.

Another helpful piece of information that is provided in the packages is a list of items that can not be taken into or out of the country. There are laws enacted to protect the vegetation of both countries and these laws are strictly enforced. The traveler will also need to know the types of documentation that is needed in order to cross over to the Canadian side of the border. Without these documents, many travelers will not be able to proceed past the border.

For some, it is also important to know the laws pertaining to firearms crossing over the border. Laws may prohibit the transportation of legal firearms into the country so it is a good idea to check these laws before trying to go to Canada with any type of firearm or ammunition. It may be wise to do a little research on line before going to the border with any kind of firearm or fireworks.

Travelling with a pet may be another issue when trying to enter a different country. Some laws state that any animal that enters the country coming from another country will have to be quarantined. Sometimes this quarantine will last for around thirty days and can include the quarantine of automobiles. This is to protect the animals and humans that are native to the country from getting a disease or condition that the country is not familiar with.

When travelling in any country that is not familiar, it is handy to know where certain problems may occur. If there are ferries and toll roads in the area travelled, the packages obtained by the travel agency can help find those types of roads. It can also tell the traveler what type of weather will be present at the time of travel.

Travel deals that can be obtained through travel agencies can help the traveler enjoy their time in Canada. It can not only help foresee any kind of hold ups, it can also help map the trip. Many believe that travelling to other countries is made more enjoyable and productive when they use the travel packages offered by the many travel agencies.

A Quick Look At Travel Packages In Canada

By Adriana Noton

Booking travel packages in Canada has become increasingly easier over the last decade due to the internet. From one end of Canada to the other, through provinces and territories you will notice the different nations who reside there. It is quite like travelling the world without actually doing it. Celebrations and festivals across the country add excitement when booking for travel.

Information at the borders is constantly changing. Travel packages will include this information before arriving. The info provided normally contains what foods I can bring into the country, passport and identification needs and requirements, which vehicles can I leave within Canada, along with many other questions a traveler may have.

Information in the packages normally will answer multiple questions that someone may have before travelling into Canada. Such things as the conversion rate for currency at the time of travel. This is important to know when using cash for all of you transactions. Most debit or credit cards will do the calculation for an individual. Actual funds will have to be converted manually. Whether or not taxes paid during purchases can be reimbursed is another question that should be answered in your travel packages. Conversion of propane and gas prices is also contained in the correspondence.

Information on travel packages should also contain items that can be brought into the country. Knowing if tobacco, alcohol, or gifts are permitted is very important to a traveler. Visas and passport requirements must also be contained in the information that is presented at the time of travel. Information on paperwork that is required to have grandchildren accompany a traveler is also required. Documents for criminal records may also be requested when ordering the packages.

Correspondence about gun control in Canada will also be mentioned. If a person owns a handgun, will it have to be left at the border? Some or most of the answers for the questions someone might have on gun laws in Canada should be mentioned in the booklet.

Pet legislation is always a concern when travelling to another country. Any laws that pertain to a pet and the owner are required to be answered in the packages. Letting travelers know if they need papers or documents for their animals is typically part of the information bundle. Quarantine for animals as well as exotic pet information can be expected.

Knowing whether a ferry or toll road will be utilized at the time and place of travel will be mentioned n the packages. Sailing times and costs are beneficial information one may need when traveling. Single and double lane highways, speed laws, usage of cell phones, campground information, public dumping stations and what kind of weather to expect for that season will be noted.

Generally the travel packages offered when travelling into Canada will have this information available usually without the request of the traveler which makes the experience a lot more enjoyable. To find the travel agencies that help travelers enjoy their time in Canada, do a little research on the World Wide Web.

Top 10 Christmas Presents For Her

By James Hayden Rayburn

With the festive season just weeks away, you surely would wish to present something to her! And while your mind can run thru the various shopping malls and internet shopping sites, at the end of the day, you will be benefited if you present something that she likes. Based on common agreement, I feel the below mentioned gifts could work.

Teddies and soft toys if you are far away from your fiance and she misses you a lot, a teddy would be the best Christmas gift. Your fiance could hug the teddy when she misses you!

Flowers it does not get more romantic than presenting some red roses. Be sure your fiance doesn't have an allergic reaction to them!

Chocolates Easy on your pockets, and good for your fiance to enjoy the moment.
Diamonds Diamonds are thought to be to the best mates of girls. Present them to your girl, and see the heartwarming smile on her face.

Clothes get a cool gown for your fiance. Trust she'd like to wear it on every other occasion.

Shawls and Mufflers routinely, Christmas time is when the temperatures are low in most parts of the planet. Present a scarf to her, and she would feel you're the most protecting man in the world.

Graceful watches Most women would like to wear sleek watches. Present them, and consider a peck on your cheeks granted.

Scent I haven't seen a lady till now who has said No to scents. Good quality perfumes are always appreciated.

Pair of glasses If she rambles around in the hot sun too much, you should be presenting her with 2 shades. Your girl would get the message that you clearly are too concerned about her eyes.

Anything deemed helpful for her And truly the gift list continues. Bottom-line is Anything that she can use daily would be best.

presenting something to your girl especially on the occasion of Christmas might be an anti-climax if you give her something she doesn't like. Presuming you know what she wants, leave no avenue unexplored to present her with something that she would appreciate all her life. To that extent, you would find this read on top ten Christmas presents for her, useful.

It's Where Your Going That Matters

By Jay Kubassek

It has been a few weeks since I have written one of these. With the holidays and the year beginning to wind down, I felt the timeliness of this message could not be better.

Oh the Holidays... The crisp snap of the winter breeze, lights emerging from every corner imaginable; illuminating the evening skies like the sun just squeezed itself through the screen door. It's a time for celebration, a time for reflection. For smiles, and long overdue embraces that have sat on shelves collecting the dust of neglect.

For too many people the world over, this holiday brings with it a new anticipation. The close of the year is upon us, the months passed have been marked with a collective anxiety of what is to come. Will it get better? Has the worst of it passed? What will I do next year?

Entrepreneurs are not immune to these same moments of uncertainty, however when one has the reigns in their hands the navigation of these troublesome times is infinitely easier.

This Holiday season holds a special anticipation for me personally. The birth of my second child is imminent (and I mean imminent, the bag is packed by the door). I know many of you reading this are parents as well. You know all too well the worry and the hope. The desire for everything to be better for them, than it was for you. It's why we put in the hours, sacrifice daily, sleep less, desire more.

As I think of all the things I must teach my baby girl in the coming years; reading, potty training, table manners and the like, it has occurred to me that what I want her to know most of all is that it matters not where you're from or where you are, it's where you are going. (I've also gotten some great advice from experienced family man and my business partner, Aaron Parkinson.)

We are all someone's children. We all have a hometown, a first kiss, a first disappointment, a first job. But the reality is these things, while important in the shape of our being, have no bearing on where our lives may take us. What we desire in life, what we desire for our children, lies ahead and not behind us.

As we come into this new year, let's embrace the promise of infinite possibility. Forget whatever hurdle or misstep may have plagued you this past year and focus on where you want to be.

After all, it doesn't matter where you're from, it's about where you're going.

Some Quick Tips To Locate The Best Student Discount Flights

By Caiden Fischer

The perfect time to fly to a great location is during a break in school. You need to get away and enjoy some time exploring a foreign country or exotic location. Getting the best student discount flights to make the trip easy and cheap will be easy if you follow a few simple steps. Having more money to spend when you land will make your trip a lot more fun.

Getting a student discount is not hard. There are student discount clubs on the Internet that you can join for a fee. Most of these clubs give discount airline tickets as well as total student vacation packages. You can also get student discounts when you go through a travel agency. If the agency has a student program, they will also have student vacation packages available. When you want to save the most money possible, you can call the airlines yourself to find the best discounts.

Calling each of the airlines is the first step to getting your own student discount flight. Each airline has different policies and discounts for flights so you will need to call each airline going to the destination you have picked. When you call, be sure to tell the ticket agent that you are looking for student discounts. There are a lot of screens used by ticket agents and if you wait to tell then that you are a student it will take some time for the agent to get back to the right screen.

Airlines allot certain numbers of seats for different kinds of discounts and rebates. There will only be a certain number of student discount flights available for the trip you are taking. The way to be sure that you get the best student discount will be to call early and make your reservation. By making the reservation early you will save money on the price of the ticket and you will have a secured seat. Airlines make reservations from three to six months before a flight. You will save a lot of money when you make an early reservation.

There are other ways to get an even greater discount. If you make your reservation for a date and time that is not "peak" you can get a significant discount. Non-peak flights are usually between Tuesday and Thursday. Flying at the time of day when the tickets are cheapest will also reduce the cost of your ticket. When you add your discount to the lower priced ticket, you can usually get your round trip ticket for the cost of a one-way regular ticket.

Rates for tickets change on Wednesday nights. When you are planning your trip, make your reservation early in the week. When there is a change in oil prices, the cost of tickets can go up significantly on a Wednesday night. Ask about this insurance if you think you may be changing your reservation. The cost to change a reservation can be very expensive so making sure what the fees will be to make the change will save money and time.

Usually the ticket agent will need you to fax a copy of your current student ID to apply the discount to your ticket. Have the fax ready to send and you can take are of it right there. Another option is to scan your student ID into your computer and email it to the ticket agent. Most airlines will accept the emailed copy of your student ID. When you have taken the steps to fully take advantage of your student discount flights and other discounts offered by the airlines, you will have money to start spending as soon as you land!

Moreton Bay is an all year round option as water temperatures in the Bay range from 20' to 27'c. The offerings include exciting wreck dives, fantastic coral outcrops and stunning sea life. It's a sport well worth considering for everyone from newcomers to the experienced. There are lots of PADI operated dive centers in and around Brisbane that offer complete dive services in Moreton Bay.

The Tangalooma Wrecks is one of the most popular diving ares in Brisbane. This area has a collection of 15 underwater vessels, located on the side of Moreton Island. These wrecks attract some of the most amazing marine life that you will ever see. During your dive you will get a glimpse of wobbegings, trevally, king fish and many tropical fish as well. Due to the water current in this area, it makes for an excellent drift diving site.

Curtin Artificial Reef is located north of Moreton Bay, and is another popular diving destination. This area is particularly favored by those with intermediate qualifications and has much to see and explore. Since 1968 the underwater Research Group of Queensland has been sinking large vessels, cars, tires and pontoons for divers to explore. Much like Tangalooma Wrecks, there is also a wide range of marine life for you to observe during your dive.

The next dive, that is worth noting, is the Mantra Ray Bommie. The dives in this area are anywhere from five to fifteen meters deep. During your underwater exploration if this area you will get a chance to observe manta ray, leopard sharks, shovel nose rays, and much more.

Flinders Reef is Brisbane's only true coral reef and is a fully protected marine sanctuary, situated 5 km northwest of Moreton Island ,the site offers dive walls, gutters ,caves ad pinnacles ad at least 112 coral species. Flat Rock, off the north eastern tip of Stradbroke Island is one of the most exciting dive sites near Brisbane. The rocky island is surrounded by beautiful coral reefs and is a great spot to see turtles, leopard sharks, eagle rays, reef fish and pelagic fish. It is most famous for its gray nurse shark population that gathers at a site called "Shark Alley" each winter. Dives is generally from five to thirty meters and visibility up to twenty meters.

What to Bring on a Carnival Cruise

By David Erskine

Looking for some ideas on what to bring on a cruise? Going on a cruise is something that a lot of people are really looking forward to. You need to be ready and prepare some of the important things you need to bring but in this article we will take a look at some of the fun things you can bring on a cruise.

Clear Plastic Door Bag - You can have it hanging over the outside of your bathroom door. You can find one of this at Walmart. The key is to get the clear plastic ones so you can see through them and can easily find your small stuff.

Duct Tape - Duct tapes aren't only used to stick things. You can also use them to mark your luggage, for repairing your things and more cleverly for using it as a lint remover.

Auto Air Freshener - Do you first go the bathroom when you get into your cabin? I think you should be cautious because of the fact that you don't know the people who used it before you. That's why it's essential for you to pack some air fresheners and sanitizers just to be sure.

Ionic Breeze - I have a friend who is really sensitive with recycled air. I found out that an ionic breeze will be a big help. It gave them immediate clean air and her sinus problems were treated just fine.

Small Flashlight - If you're going to get a small cabin then having a handy flashlight will help you get more around easily and will help you avoid falling over someone.

Phone Cards - These are wonderful gifts to cruise employees. Most of the cruise employees are from other countries and sometimes it is very hard for them to spend their hard-earned money just to call home.

Candy Treats - If you're giving out tips, then put your money around the candies and offer it as gratuities to cruise employees. They can really be amazed by this really cool tip because this is really not the typical tip that they receive.

Traveling During The Holidays

By Thomas Clarke

Traveling during the holidays can be an overwhelming adventure. The longer distance that you have to travel the more overwhelmed you will feel. One way to make your travel plans simpler is by utilizing a vehicle to reach your destination. If you choose to travel by vehicle there are many ways that you can make it a fun, fast and stress free trip.

The first thing, when traveling by vehicle, that can make your trip less stressful is utilizing a rental car. When driving you will want to plan multiple stops. Renting a vehicle will save the wear ans tear on your car, but if you decide to utilize your own vehicle then you will want to have it serviced. Be have the tuned up, tires checked and oil changed can make a large difference on long trips. You will also want to be sure that your tires are properly aligned and inflated, as this can save you money on gas through out your travels.

The great thing about utilizing a vehicle for your travel plans is that you can take as much with you as you like. There is no limit on the amount of luggage that you can take, as long as you can fit it all in the vehicle. You also can bring games, books, movies, or other items that will keep your family entertained and busy, both during the travel and while at your destination.

Another benefit to driving is the ability to bring food, drinks and snacks in the car with you. There are many advantages to this. First, it will save you time and money if you do not stop to purchase food when traveling. It will also save money when you reach your destination, since you can bring food to place in your accommodation saving you the expense of meals out.

Now, there are some benefits to flying and they are pretty apparent. If the trip is a long distance, you could spend the entire holiday driving to get there and back. Even with the waits and delays in the airport, it is generally quicker for long trips. There is also a convenience factor. Traveling by air makes you a thriftier packer and makes you only take what you need to get you by. This is especially true these days since most airlines are now charging for luggage and more for each piece. Traveling lighter can make the whole trip a little bit easier. There is no use lugging all that extra stuff through all those terminals if you don't have to.

Finding The Best Discount Flights To Your Location Of Choice Online

By Graham McKenzie

No matter what airline you choose to fly with, there are all kinds of taxes and extra fees that you have to pay. Going on vacation can seem really expensive, and the flights are actually the largest part of that. When you choose to fly to your destination, there is not just one fare, but two if you take a return ticket. Then you also have to worry about the exorbitant taxes that are charged with every airline.

The first thing you should look at is the time of your possible flight and the places where you will stop over. These might be fun places that you would not mind visiting, but sometimes you will want the convenience of flying direct.

After you have planned the timing of your trip, you need to then coordinate the destination. This will hugely depend on the time of year you have decided to go. You have to understand that there are whether issues at most of the tropical destination, so you want to take this part of your planning very seriously.

Another time you will find that there is a discount applying to your ticket is when you fly on certain days. Sometimes weekday ones are cheaper than flying over the weekend, and this could be either from the ticket or from the taxes.

Depending on your travel needs you can find yourself flying economy class, first class, or business class. The differences are mainly in the food that you are served as well as the space you have. Some differences include getting your own screen to watch movies on and a set of headphones as opposed to watching the single screen that everyone watches in the economy class. Most planes are changing or have changed this though.

If you want to make sure that you enjoy the window seats or to see if you have enough room, you will want to ask the booking agent so that you can book those specific seats. Other than that you can easily get the perfect place on your plane by booking early. This will cost a bit more, but you can then choose from just about any seat on board and make sure you get the one you want.

If you are going to rent a vehicle on your vacation, make sure that you rent with insurance, otherwise take your own international insurance with you so that you know that you are properly covered if anything was to happen on the foreign roads you will be travelling, you do not want to be stuck without insurance.

Need Homemade Christmas Craft Ideas For Your Kids?

By Nicole Dean

Christmas crafts don't have to be complicated or expensive. Nothing is more fun for kids than spending time together with you creating simple fun Christmas ornaments out of a pile of silly things. Take some time this holiday season to create delightful little ornaments with fun Christmas crafts that you and your kids will both love! Let's see what we can make!

Candy Cane Reindeer: One of the most fun and fast traditional Christmas ornament crafts for the season is this cute little googly eye reindeer. You'll need some candy canes, brown pipe cleaners, small googly eyes, small red pompoms, thin ribbon, and a small jingle bell.

Start with the pipe cleaner. Twist it tight around the "neck", under the hook of the candy cane, and it will form a V. Then shape the ends to look like antlers. Glue the eyes on each side of the "head." Glue the red pompom on to be the nose. Tie the ribbon on for a hanger and string the bell through the ribbon. You'll probably want several for your tree and your wreath.

Noodles Wreath: Noodles, or pasta, is a great material to work with. It's inexpensive and paints up very well. You'll need some noodles of various shapes and sizes, some sturdy paper plates, some craft glue, poster paint or craft spray paint, and ribbon or other embellishments to decorate the wreath.

To assemble, cut a hole out of the center of the paper plate to form a wreath shape. Choose an array of interesting pasta noodles and glue them around the wreath trying to cover the entire front of the paper plate. After the craft glue has dried, take your tempura paint or craft spray paint and paint the pasta. Let the paint dry. Tie the ribbon into a traditional wreath bow and then glue it to your wreath. Make several in different colors and styles to decorate every room in the house!

Cinnamon Cookie Cutter Ornaments: These smell pretty, look pretty, and make great gifts, too. Start with gathering your ingredients and tools. You'll need 4 tablespoons of regular white glue, 1 cup of ground cinnamon, and about 1 cup of water, maybe a little less, for your dough. You'll also need a baking sheet or cookie sheet, a straw or toothpick to form a hole, cookie cutters, and some ribbon or string.

Mix all your ingredients in a big bowl, pouring only some of the water in, then mixing and adding more water if you need in order to get the dough like sugar cookie dough. Put it in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Sprinkle a little cinnamon on a cutting board and knead the dough with your hands until it's nice and smooth. Then use a pastry roller and roll the dough out evenly until about 1/4 inch thick. Cut out your shapes and poke a hole in the top for a hanger. Put your shapes on a cookie sheet and set in a warm oven for about 2 hours. Remove, cool, and tie pretty ribbons through the holes. Now you can give them as gifts or hang them from your own tree.

Once you start looking, you'll be surprised how many easy Christmas ornament ideas are out there to make with your children. When the days get long over this holiday season, gather your little ones together and make some fun new homemade ornaments... and some memories!

4 Popular Media Franchises That Have Toys Your Children Really Want

By Ellie Evergreen

This holiday season, one of the biggest categories of toys that kids will want is from major media franchise. This is not just the Disney Channel or Disney movies. It also includes age old favorites such as GI Joe and Star Wars. The great thing about these gifts is that you will already gauge the reaction of your children from whether they enjoyed watching the shows or movies. This is what makes this category appealing for the parent who is looking to get the right gift. However there are some downsides. In a way you pay for the convenience of knowing that your child will be happy with your pick. The simple fact is that name brand toys will often cost more than a generic item. However there is good news this year since many retailers like Toys R'Us are aggressively cutting prices to make these toys sellable. Here are some great holiday gift options for franchise merchandise.

Star Wars is already an iconic brand with six movies and countless toys, books, and video games. It is literally becoming its own universe. One good thing about getting toys related to Star Wars is that the brand has managed to become fresh for each new generation of little boys. It also innovates and branches out. You no longer have the model ships and figurines that you probably had as a child. You can now get Lego's kits. Video games, and other toys ties to the franchise. Star Wars has even taken advantage of cutting edge technology with its Yoda force trainer which allows kids to control the game with their mind using state of the art sensors.

Disney has several popular brands that are becoming hot toys this year. The most famous is Hannah Montana doll's and gear as well as the Disney princess collection. Girls of any age will want to have items from this collection. Disney princesses are also getting a huge boost from the release of The Princess and the Frog this December. The movie is getting a lot of press for its good reviews and its groundbreaking princess. So if your daughter hasn't shown interest is prepared for her pleas after she sees the movie.

Another popular brand that has come back to the forefront is GI Joe. The toy line is already iconic have a history as old as another famous toy, Barbie. However the line is getting new characters for figurines as well model vehicles and possible a couple video games titles. So look to find some interesting toys that your child is interested in especially if you took him to see the movie.

Transformers are once again likely to be high on many little boys' wish lists. This is another popular franchise that has only gotten better with the release of Transformers two last summer. Aside from the popular transforming toys there are now other accessories such as helmets, toy weapons, and of course video games. So it would be prudent to get items from this line if your son, nephew, or grandson has shown some interest.

Something extra that you can do for you kids this Christmas is to have them receive a letter from Santa. You can order them from online vendors for a decent price and personalize them. They also come with an authentic Santa signature and North Pole postmark. This is a great way to make Christmas magical for your children.

TripAdvisor Recommends to Check Your Hotel Reviews and Take Advantage of the Owner Center

By Stefano Maranzana

Florence historical train station Stazione Leopolda , now turned into a convention center, was the locale for the 2009 edition of the Buy Tourism Online Tradeshow (16-17 November). The B.T.O. is an Italian web 2.0 and online tourism tradeshow which central theme is TOURISM 2.0, the phenomenon that is radically changing the dynamics of supply and demand in the entire range of tourist accommodation.

Many speakers introduced the various aspects of Web 2.0 and social networking in the hotel industry. One of the most interesting speeches was delivered by Roberto Frua of TripAdvisor(c). The focal point of Frua's address was how social media, and above all TripAdvisor(c), can help hoteliers in their marketing strategies.

Consumer-based internet content, also known as Web 2.0, is a reality and it is dominant in the tourism industry. TripAdvisor(c), with its over 30 million traveler reviews, is a very important tool that helps monitor what it is being said about your property and take action. Monitoring and reacting to your hotel's reviews are critical in modern hotel business. Especially if the review is a negative one, the hotelier should first of all be aware of it and then come up with a suitable response. In order to smooth the progress of this task, Tripadvisor(c) has launched the Owner Center to help management teams from hotels, restaurants and attractions manage and optimize their properties' presence on the web site.

Through the Owner Center hoteliers log in and are able to provide and update details about their hotels and most of all keep track of their reviews and respond in a timely manner. It really helps to save time on a very time consuming chore. Managers can check their performance on the customer satisfaction index, but also keep an eye on how their direct competitors are doing.

Nowadays TripAdvisor(c) is a vital means for hoteliers to engage with their former and possible guests. The revolution of the Web 2.0 is that customers have their say and what they think about your property is visible to the whole online community. It is a miscalculation to ignore this reality that may hurt the hotel credibility and image in the World Wide Web. Be it through the practical Owner Center or not, it is really advisable to observe what is being said about your property in TripAdvisor(c) and react: The first move to being part of any online community is to listen to the conversation, and then to join in.

Taking A Look At Sheffield - South Yorkshire

By Frederick Hoymer

The fascinating city of Sheffield - South Yorkshire, England can boast of a current population of at least 535,000 residents living in this attractive metropolitan borough. In and of itself, the Sheffield Urban Area can count more than 650,000 people and the area as a whole has continued to grow apace over the centuries. It has gradually shifted from being mostly industrial in nature to now being economically more diverse than ever before.

The city's name has historic roots and derives from the river that runs through the center of Sheffield, the River Sheaf. The city came to great prominence in the 1800s because of its skill in the production of steel and steel products. It is considered to be the birthplace of stainless steel, in fact. Because of this sort of skill, the population increased by ten times over the course of the Industrial Revolution.

Gradually, improvements in iron and steel production (along with competition) in other parts of the globe saw Sheffield lose its primacy in the making of iron and steel by the 1970s and 1980s. This happened to occur at the same time that coal mining as an industry began to diminish in the area and in the wider country, though Sheffield seems to have come through the hard times -- especially in this new century -- better than most.

Evidence of the success of this economic overhaul is seen in the fact of the town's continued growth through the diversification of its base economy which has contributed to greater than 5% annual growth, of late. In fact, that growth exceeds the wider region of Yorkshire and Humber that surrounds the metropolitan area. In British pounds, the city's current value exceeds several billion even during the current economic downturn.

The city is also teeming with green space, having more trees per person than practically any other city in all of Europe. At present, over 61 percent of Sheffield is considered to be covered by such green space and the residents and city busily go about making sure as much space as possible is planted with at least one tree. It is also a very attractive town, being built up onto several hillsides that allow for scenic vistas all around.

Sheffield is truly ancient in terms of human activity in the area, which can be traced back nearly 13,000 years to the Upper Paleolithic era, though the town itself is the amalgamation of several Anglo-Saxon and Danish communities in the latter half of the first millennium. By 1296, Sheffield had become a market town and by the 1300's it had become a center of knife making, gaining a good name for the quality of its cutlery and other blades.

Sheffield resides in the metropolitan county of South Yorkshire, which boasts a current population of more than 1. 3 million residents. The county is also landlocked, having no access to the sea, and can trace its modern history to 1974 when it was created as a result of a national effort to streamline local governing areas. Four separate metropolitan boroughs make up the county, including that of Sheffield's.

Pinar del Ro: A Jewel Of Nature In Cuba.

By Jose Mauricio Maurette

Not many locations in Cuba display as much natural magnificence as Pinar del Rio. Set apart by the nature, this region hosts two of the six World Reservations of the Biosphere in the Cuba.

The fascination of its flora and fauna represents the primary beauty of the county, and no doubt about it is the territory of the finest tobacco in the world. For those who want to be in direct contact with nature, Pinar del Rio is a must see place. Very close to the city and on route to the Viales Valley, the Aguas Claras Villa stands out for is its characteristic features and it is built in the lands previously occupied by a stunning property in the tropical landscape.

Sited in the Viales Valley, amid its startling mountain range, is the Camping site Dos Hermanas (Two Sisters) that lets you enjoy a stunning landscape. You may choose among a number of activities like climbing, horse back riding, trailing, cave exploring, bicycle riding and so many other options while in your holidays in Pinar del Rio.

It is not just for its natural attributes that this province is so attractive, this piece of land is also the crib of many famous exponents of the Cuban art. Renowned novelists, music composers and singers, painters and poets have all come from Pinar del Rio. Just to mention few we have to include XIX novelist Cirilo Villaverde, Pedro Plablo Oliva and singer Polo Montaez

The most popular social gathering in the zone is the Guateque. It is a party where people recite poetry, sing songs and enjoy a good typical Cuban food while flavoring the best of the Cuban rums.

If you want to visit Pinar del Rio in your holidays in Cuba, you can fly to Havana and then take a transfer to this area. It is located at about 160 kms far from Havana and it takes about 2 hours by road. There are no international or domestic airports in this province so flying directly is not an option. There is although the chance to arrive by boat to the Marinas located in Cayo Levisa and Maria La Gorda.

The most famous and I would also say most beautiful part of Pinar del Rio is Viales Valley. This place has the most amazing mountain formations and most colorful valleys in Cuba. There are few accommodation facilities in the area precisely for not to spoil the natural environment. Among the best are Los Jasmines Hotel, La Ermita and Rancho San Vicente Cottages.

I will always suggest a visit to Pinar del Rio province, mainly if you are the kind of holiday maker that enjoy getting to know a Country from its culture. I would dare to state as well that using few days in your holidays to Cuba to stay in this province will unquestionably be the high light of your holiday experience in Cuba.

Two Centre Holiday To Cuba.

By Jose Garces

I am going to assume that you are already looking at alternatives for your Cuba holidays so I am not going to spend many lines trying to convince you what a good idea is to go to Cuba. You have probably made already a very wise decision and are looking at options for your holidays in Cuba that will be suitable for you.

What Cuba has to offer in terms of tourism can not be found in many places in the world. This fascinating island is the biggest in the Caribbean Sea and has definitely been blessed by nature. Mountain range, large valleys, rivers and lakes and of beautiful turquoise water beaches make its geography one to enjoy. But there is more to it than its landscape. Cuba has a very unique culture, a stunning colonial architecture, and impressive history one of the most talked about political system in Latin America.

If you are looking to mainly relax after a hard long period of work and at the same time let your self been invaded by the Cuban culture then I would suggest you do a twin centre holiday. There are many options and I will mention in this article which in my opinion are the most interesting ones.

Havana and Varadero: Ideal formula for people who are not willing to travel long ours along the road. Both cities are only few miles away from each other and they can be connected in less than 2 hours by taxi. Havana is recommended for at least 2 or 3 nights so that you can get to see and enjoy what this amazing city has to offer. Varadero is considered by many one of the best beach destinations in the world. It certainly is the most famous in Cuba and it offers a wealth of activities such as swimming with dolphins, rides in a submarine, horse back riding and all sorts of water sports.

Havana and Cayo Largo: This one in my opinion is a very attractive combination. You will be arriving to Havana's airport and after staying few nights in Havana you will be transferred to the airport very early in the morning to fly to Cayo Largo. Why bother taking a domestic flight? Well let me tell you that Cayo Largo has in my opinion the best and most virgin beaches out of all the beach destinations in Cuba. You can also find a wealth of wild life cohabiting with the few hotels that exists in this small island.

Havana and Jibacoa: This twin centre holiday is ideal for those who like to relax far from that comes with some huge beach resorts. It is very close to Havana. So if you feel you did not have enough of the Capital and its night life or its restaurants you can very easily take a taxi from Breezes Jibacoa Hotel and you will be in Havana in less than 1 hour. Not very expensive a taxi will cost about 30 Cuban convertible pesos (15 Sterling pounds).

These are just some of the combinations you can do but the fact is that you can do dozens of them. Or you can put together as many locations as you want. We will obviously help you out deciding what is best for you and what is feasible taking into account the duration of your holidays. If you need to know more please do not hesitate to contact us.

Tips On Staying Healthy While Traveling

By Adriana Noton

Because of the increased news coverage about viruses such as the H1N1 virus, more people are realizing that they have to take health precautions when traveling. It seems as though everywhere we go there is a risk of picking up some 'bug' that can make us sick, with some 'bugs' that can make us gravely ill. Fortunately, there are a number of easy to implement measures one can take to stay healthy while traveling.

1. To avoid such illnesses as travelers' diarrhea, food poisoning, and illnesses caused from contaminated water, one should take a number of precautions such as only drinking bottled water. Make sure you eat food that is well cooked and has been thoroughly washed and peeled. Be wary of unsanitary restaurants. Look for well known restaurants in traveler guide books. Only eat freshly prepared foods and avoid raw vegetables and fruits. You should also stay away from raw seafood. As well, you should not drink beverages that contain ice cubes. It is important to eat healthy and stay hydrated. A package of berries or nuts is healthier than eating sugary and fatty snacks.

2. Keep such health items as hand sanitizer, antibiotic ointment, and Kleenex on hand. Use hand sanitizers frequently and do not touch your mouth, nose, or eyes. Rubbing a bit of antibiotic ointment in your nasal passages will stop airborne germs from entering the body. As well, anti bacterial wipes are handy disinfectants. You can use them to wipe down doorknobs, toilet seats, and anything else that can contain germs

3. You should travel with a medical kit. This can include band aids, antibiotic ointment, aspirin, Tylenol, medicine for diarrhea and an upset stomach, and Vitamin C. A week or two before your trip, you should boost your immune system by exercising, eating healthy and taking vitamin C.

4. When you are traveling by plane, and are concerned about catching a virus, you can wear a surgical mask. You can also carry a small water bottle to spray your face to stay rehydrated during the flight. You should also make sure to wipe down seats, arm rests, and head rests with a disinfectant wipe. Avoid using airline blankets and pillows as they can carry germs. When using flight bathrooms, use tissues to turn doorknobs and faucets as well as flushing toilets to avoid E.coli infection.

5. When using the air vent, direct air flow to your chest so air is not blowing into your face. Try not to sit next to someone who has a cold. Keep all of your belongings in your carry on bag and store it in the overhead unit. As well, try to fly on days when there are less passengers flying. On long trips, make sure you get up every hour and stretch your legs to prevent blood clots.

Just because there a number of illnesses out there, it does not mean you have to stop traveling. By taking the proper health precautions, you can drastically improve your chances of having a great vacation with becoming afflicted with an illness.

What Hotel Facilities Can Be Expected Of, When Staying at a Different Lodging Levels

By Adriana Noton

The hotel industry including airport hotels is broken down into three separate categories: extended stay, limited service and full service. While the exact hotel facilities a guest can expect are going to change from property to property, there are some core items that should be present at each level. Here is a quick overview of what can be expected at each level.

An extended stay property is lodging that is long term. These are very popular among people that are relocating to a new area and permanent accommodations are not ready or have not been found yet. Room rates are generally very low, but so are the amenities that are offered. Some properties are a bit more welcoming than others, but most will offer little more than a room.

For the most part, you are getting a room, laundry facilities and a parking space. Some of the higher end places will have pools, but that is something that should be considered a bonus. They are generally very clean places, but will only offer maid service once or twice a week. The reason that they are cheaper is because of the low overhead costs in regards to staff.

The next category is a limited service hotel. The hotel facilities offered vary greatly as this is a highly contested market and profits are very high. Because some of these properties are in direct competition with full service hotels, they will offer a few more amenities than a run of the mill travel lodge.

Limited service properties will usually offer maid service every day and having something like a workout room or pool is possible. If they have meeting rooms, they will be very small and very limited. Some limited service properties are now offering free breakfasts as a way to entice the full service guests away from the other properties.

Full service hotels far and away have the best hotel facilities, but the rates are generally much higher than the first two categories. To get the best rates, guests should actually look for properties that are located close to limited service properties as they are often forced to lower their rates in order to fill the house.

Examples of full service hotels are Marriott, Hilton and Crowne Plaza. Where limited service loyalty programs are basically useless other than getting points for rooms, full service hotels treat their highest level VIP members like Kings. Free breakfast, cocktail hours and turn down service are but a few of the perks. The hotel should also have a fully equipped fitness club, pool (when possible), snack shop, full service restaurant, banquet facilities and exceptional meeting rooms.

While all of these types of lodging facilities serve their purpose, a full service hotel is where to go when pampering is desired. Their staffs are trained (or at least they should be) to make every wish of a guest come true. After all, the guest is paying for full service and they have every right to expect to receive it.

Holidays Are Cheaper Than Ever at the Moment, So Why Not Book Some Time Away?

By Amelie K Parkin

Holidays have always been a luxury and although a lot of us travel these days, it's very rare that we get a chance to simply sit back and relax and spend some time away. Work life and social lives can really get in the way of having a nice break. Holidays are cheaper than ever at the moment so why not book some time off work and get planning to spend some much needed time relaxing.

Most of the time, finding holidays on the web can be a bit scary. However, there are now so many options that you should be able to find something that suits your needs. Most of the leading travel agencies are now on the web and most of them are very good with their online booking systems.

However, you don't want to stick only to leading travel agencies because you can find better deals elsewhere. Holiday cottages and holiday homes are a great way to spend some time away. Most holidays that involve renting a villa or cottage can be expensive but right now there are some bargains to be found.

Just make sure that you're aware of what's available and be sure to consider your holiday carefully. You don't want to buy the first package holiday that you see because otherwise you will end up regretting it. Find out about the destinations that you're interested in and consider what you want from your holiday.

You will then need to consider the options available on today's market and do some research to find out which options are best suited to your needs. It can be quite easy to find what you're looking for if you hit the internet and have a good look around.

Holidays aren't ever going to be super cheap and if you want all inclusive deals then you will need to consider a larger budget. However, the deals available right now are such good value for money and booking in advance can save you literally hundreds of pounds.

Hotels Are Finally Catching On The Trend On the Environment

By Adriana Noton

The environmental trend is stealing headlines all over the world. People are finally realizing the damage that is being done to the environment and are starting to change the way things are done at home and the business world. The travel industry is no different and a positive environmental trend is sweeping through the hotel industry as a whole including airport hotels.

Not so long ago using renewable energy and having a recycling program were not profitable things to do. Because of this Corporate America was not willing to jump in with both feet. While there were some companies that did this anyway (and they should be applauded), others were waiting to see where the environmental trend would lead before they started to make changes.

The travel industry, specifically the hotel niche of it, was infamous for literally pouring money down the drain. There was literally tons of unnecessary laundry being done every day that was not only costing the hotel owners a lot of money, but was using unnecessary energy and water as well. Over the last few years, this whole process has changed for the better.

When a guest checks into their room today, they are going to see something that is not even close to what it was as little as 10 years ago. Hotels will now usually have signs up that suggests to guests to keep their towels for an extra day or to keep the sheets on instead of having them changed out every day. It is impossible to understand the impact that this immediately has on energy and water consumption.

Energy savings is always as hot topic and one that was always assumed to be wasted in hotels. Lights were left on all the time and bulbs were bright and energy wasting. Today, hotels rarely have unused rooms lit up and have gone the way of energy efficient lighting to try and cut down on their bills. This all adds up to enormous amounts of energy that is now being saved instead of wasted.

While most neighborhoods started recycling years ago, not all hotels were with the program. There was a time when the back of a hotel looked more like a trash dump than anything else. Unless you have worked in one, it is hard to imagine the amount of waste that is generated each and every day. Drive in the back of the hotel today and it is an organized area that has all of their trash separated for recycling.

Hotels have always had brightly lit parking lots and extra signage up to let people know that they are open for business. While this is understandable, it has also been excessive. Solar trees are popping up all over the place to replace standard parking lot lighting and more and more hotels are making use of perimeter solar lighting to light pool areas and such that used to burn standard bulbs.

When the corporate world steps up and makes a statement that it is time to start saving energy, people tend to take notice. The trickledown effect is enormous as ideas get put into the heads of guests and staff alike. It is great to finally see the travel industry have and promote a healthier environmental trend.

Flights to Almeria

By Susan Renolds

Though not yet as popular as Costa del Sol, Madrid or Barcelona, Almeria is a rapidly developing holiday spot with enough choices of airlines and airports to get you there at a good price.

Airports: Belfast, Birmingham, Dublin, Gatwick, Leeds, Luton, Manchester, London Stansted.

Airlines:Monarch, Easyjet, Ryanair, Iberia

Fares to Aleneria are somewhat more expensive as there is not as much competition among airlines offering it as a destination. Fares can range from-9 up to 230 and more depending on your carrier. If you're having difficulty finding a suitable flight to Almeria, consider a flight to Malaga as an alternative. Almeria is only a 2 hour drive from the Malaga Airport. You could also consider flying into Granada and catch the A-92 Autovia into Almeria.

Alemeria airport (LEI) is a small but modern airport and becomes busier each year. You can chose to hire a car, take the bus service or take a cab into the city.

Almeria is located at the eastern edge of Andalucia. Because the Almeria region and Costa Almeria are only now growing in popularity among holidaymakers, there is no defined busy season. You'll be able to find a variety of activities and places of interest year-round. New resorts are springing up east and west of the city.

The city has a rich history and takes influence from the Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans and Moors who all occupied the city before it was recaptured by Christian armies in the 15th century. As evidence, the imposing Alcazaba, a Moorish fortress, overlooks the town from its hilltop perch.

You'll find a strong African influence here due to the large number of immigrant workers from Morocco, Tunisia and others. You can even take a ferry trip to North Africa from Almeria.

Choose from a good selection of galleries, museums and shops for diversion. The Olive Oil Museum, located in the city's historical quarter in a'th century home, gives you the chance to taste a variety of olive oils. La Rambla is a long avenue of squares, street cafes and children's play areas. For architecture buffs, the old city offers fascinating medieval examples with colonnades, archways and squares you can explore on foot.

There are seven golf courses in Almeria offering something for novice golfers as well as more experienced players.

Nature provides much to see in Almeria. Inland you'll find an almost lunar-like landscape, chosen as a perfect backdrop for the "spaghetti westerns" of the'70s. Almeria is also known for its troglodyte villages - a community of cave dwellers who have fashioned extraordinary homes, complete with smart doors and puffing chimneys, in the soft rock.

Hikers, bird waters, and scuba divers find the Cabo del Gato-Nijar nature preserve a favorite attraction. Its desert landscape and rugged coastline doted with small coves provides adventure for nature lovers of all types.

You can find more tame entertainment choices at the tourist centers on the eastern coast of the province at Mojacar and on the southern coast, west of the city. Here are beaches, marinas, international restaurants, hotels and sports centers.

The Island of South Georgia

By Gary Small

The island of South Georgia, an inhospitable frozen wasteland of glaciers, snow-capped mountains and freezing winds, lies in the southern Atlantic Ocean east of Tierra del Fuego.

This remote Antarctic island is part of the British territory of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. The British claim to sovereignty of South Georgia dates from 1775 when Captain Cook landed here and dismissed the island as not worth discovering. Argentina also claimed the island in 1027, an unresolved dispute which contributed to the 1982 Falklands war when Argentine forces briefly occupied South Georgia.

In 1916 Ernest Shackleton became stranded on Elephant Island to the south-west, while on his Imperial Straits Antarctic Expedition, Shackleton and a small group of men left the rest of the party to summon help and ended up, after an arduous journey, at King Haakon Bay on the south coast of South Georgia.

They then managed to make it overland to reach help at Stromness whaling station, which led to the rescue of the remaining men. Daring a later expedition in 1922, Shackleton died on board a ship off South Georgia and he is buried on the island at Grytviken.

There is no permanent human population on South Georgia, only the British Government Officer, research scientists and museum staff at Grytviken, but there are enormous populations of penguins, the largest colonies anywhere on earth, with around 400,000 breeding pairs of king penguins, two million pairs of the macaroni penguins and large colonies of four other species.

Visitors come here to watch penguin couples overcome the extreme climatic conditions and nurture their precious eggs through hatching and the vulnerable chick stage into fully fledged members of the colony. The charming creatures work tirelessly together avoiding the seals that lurk in the shallows waiting to pounce and protecting their young from ferocious skua gulls who will snatch one and tear it to shreds.

When he landed here in the 18th century, Captain Cook noted the huge seal and whale populations around the island, but just two hundred years later both had been hunted nearly to extinction. South Georgia is, however, home to 95 per cent of the world's southern fur seals, half the southern elephant seals, 250,000 Albatrosses, including the massive Wandering Albatross, and up to ten million other seabirds, making a trip here a totally unique experience.

Vacationing in the Natural Beauty of the Texas Hill Country

By Stephen Daniels

Unforgettable vacation and sightseeing opportunities are plentiful in the rolling hills, peaceful valleys and small towns of the Texas hill country, along with the cities of Austin and San Antonio. Very different from the flatlands that stretch far to the East, or the humid lands along the Gulf of Mexico, the hills of west Texas are picturesque, livable and awash in awe-inspiring natural beauty.

Unlike their big sisters, Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth, the Texas hill towns of San Antonio and Austin radiate friendly, small town atmospheres. Both cities are large enough to provide all the 'bells and whistles' larger cities provide without the hassles of bumper to bumper traffic and endless lines for something as simple as taking in a movie. Austin and San Antonio are about people, families and quality of life.

Historic San Antonio, with a population of just over one million, sits near the southern border of the Texas Hill Country. Home of the Alamo, the city charmingly reflects its Spanish roots and proudly honors the 189 citizen volunteers who stood off the Mexican Army for a grueling 13 days.

Austin, the alluring Texas state capitol, is billed as the live music capital of the world. Named "the Southwest's hippest metropolis" by the New York Times, this laid-back city of 1.4 million has more clubs and fine restaurants per capita than any other city in the United States. Featuring excellent medical facilities, numerous clean energy employers and a moderate cost of living, Austin attracts retirees and families alike.

Smaller towns like Bandera and Wimberly are scattered throughout the Texas hill country. These towns are a horse lover's dream, with outstanding horse facilities, dude ranches, rodeos and horse races. Exceptional hunting, fishing and camping opportunities also abound in this region to satisfy the most ardent outdoor enthusiast. In addition to the many golf courses in San Antonio and Austin, some small towns, such as Bandera, feature one or more courses.

As a New York Times top pick for summer vacations last year, Texas hill country is an increasingly popular tourist destination. These serene lands were once a rolling ocean floor. Today it is a region of trees and lakes, cattle, horses, and deer. Texas hill country entices the visitor and life-long resident alike to enjoy its resplendent scenery and endless variety of attractions. It is a paradise for vacationers.

Visitors to Texas hill country are often so entranced by it that they decide to make this lovely land their permanent residence. Not yet 'discovered' by hungry real estate moguls and ruthless developers, property in this area is surprisingly affordable. Ready built mini-ranches for those wanting only a few acres as well as large ranches that are perfect for pasturing cattle or horses are available in almost every area. A stable job market, good schools and the relatively low cost of real estate entices professionals, outdoor lovers, families and retirees to this area of Texas.

Why I will Not Go On HoneymoonTravel Without Insurance

By Ejima Pitt

The honeymoon is often considered the best trip you'll ever make. Yet, without proper care, lots of inconveniences can spoil the pleasure of the vacation. Some people choose romantic European locations, others go to exotic islands or aboard cruise ships. You may enjoy a great experience if you handle all the details related to honeymoon travel carefully.

Lots of money go into honeymoon trips, and people ignore the usefulness of travel insurance policies in case things go wrong. First of all, begin by thinking how you are going to take the honeymoon travel, as it all depends on the distance you need to cover. If going to the Far-East, you will have a more complex flight, and all sorts of inconveniences may appear such as baggage loss, exhaustion, delayed flights or bad weather.

Honeymoon travel insurance represents the guarantee that you won't end up mad and broke at the same time. The travel agent could also recommend a good package that includes insurance, or you can talk to your insurance provider to see whether any extension is possible. You can find plenty of details online, so that you are not at a loss about the next stage of planning. And a little word of warning here is to avoid Internet bookings in the first place.

Lots of plans prove problematic when you try to make reservations for a far away place. Take your fianc/e and the travel agent and together discuss the budget, the available offer and the possibility to get a fairy-tale honeymoon travel. Working with a specialized agency saves you from many troubles, therefore, do not mind the commission that the travel agent will charge you. It is worth every cent!

Then, the honeymoon travel should be planned in advanced, and should not be left for the last moment, because you may no longer be able to choose at ease. Once you're done with the ring, start preparing for the honeymoon too. The more time you have to shop around, the better the chances to get low airfares and decent accommodation prices.

Visit Tasmania In Australia - 5 Good Reasons

By Jennifer Schellington

If you are planning a trip to Australia, don't do what most travelers do and forget about Tasmania. It is unfortunately often the forgotten state of Australia probably due to its location as it is not attached to the mainland. it is an island just below Melbourne. Getting here is however much easier than you think with affordable flights from most major cities, particularly Melbourne and Sydney.

This really is the place if you are looking to get away from it all. There is something quite serene and peaceful about Tasmania, even in the major cities of Launceston and Hobart. It's generally very quiet which gives a sense of real discovery. As if it's only you there appreciating all it has to offer.

Why Visit Tasmania?

The Scenery

I don't think there is anywhere else in Australia that offers such different rugged and mountainous landscapes. Around every corner is a stunning view. From rainforests to mountains to beautiful coastlines, there really is scenery to that everyone will love. For those of you who have visited Scotland in the UK, it feels very similar. Wherever you explore the windy roads will take you through beautiful scenery. A trip to Cradle Mountain is definitely recommended.

The Beaches

Most people automatically think of Queensland as having some of the best beaches in Australia. Did you know that Tasmania has won several awards for its beaches?. The Bay of Fires has been awarded plenty of "Best Beach" awards competing against the entire coastline of Australia. Wine Glass Bay is another amazing spectacle not to be missed. Itis often known as the coldest of the Australian states, but come in summer and you will be pleasantly surprised at their beaches

The Food and Wine

It is the cooler climate that makes Tasmania famous for its wine. It has some of the best cool wine regions in Australia. It's Pinot Noir and sparkling wines are world famous. Head to Launceston and take a trip to the Tamar Valley and you will be totally surprised. There is a beautiful collection of wineries to visit, from large to boutique, from the old to the ultra modern. Stay a while and enjoy a sumptuous lunch and some excellent wine.

The Walking

Tasmania is certainly the place for you if you like outdoor holidays and walking. There are lots of wonderful walking trails to suit all levels. The most famous track is probably the Overland Track which goes from Cradle Mountain to Mount St Clair. It is a 6 day hike across stunning scenery and wilderness. There are campsites along the way or you can stay in huts.

The History

Tasmania has an abundance of wildlife, some of which are unique to the state. The Tasmanian Devil is an interesting creature which hisses to warn its prey off. They can be quite ferocious. A visit to one of the many wildlife parks in Tasmania is a must but you are bound to see Kangaroos, Wombats and Wallabies whilst you are out and about too.

A trip to Tasmania should make it onto your "Must Do" lists if you are planning a trip to Australia. Good food, great scenery and tranquility. What more could you ask for?

4 Great Places To Look For Excellent Deals On Gifts This Xmas

By Ellie Evergreen

Something I have learned from recent shopping for my loved ones this holiday season is that you can never know where you can find some great deals for gifts. The process really surprised me since I was supposed to have already researched many of the places where you could not only find a great discount but get interesting and inspired gift choices. A single weekend shopping expedition shattered my preconceptions and gave me some real life experience that can also help you in your shopping. Here are some of the interesting places I found great gifts.

The first place was at discount Stores like Rugged Warehouse and Marshall's. These were store that I knew and often visited since they had great deals on name brand clothes that I would normally pass on if I found them at the mall. However, I found myself impressed with the wide selection of holiday products and gifts that I found at both of these stores. At Rugged I found a wide variety of holiday gifts and treat that were not only beautiful but quite unique and interesting. Some of them my family gave at a gift exchange with some surprising results. We were very strict with our spending purchasing items that had a price under $5. But many of the products were from much more prestigious stores and were originally as high as $29.

The Dollar store came through once again. These stores are really striving to serve the one stop for just about everything you can think off and all them for a dollar or just a little more. The key is in the variety. You should go in looking from something interesting that doesn't cost much not for an item that has high quality; nevertheless, you may find some very surprising finds. Some of the most well received gifts so far this season for me actually came from here. It just needed me to be more imaginative in what I picked.

Wal-Mart is a gimme but Sam's Club and other big box stores are a great place to shop this season. If you have not gotten your membership do so immediately. There were some excellent savings on electronics, toys, and even some recreation items that your entire family can enjoy. Also if you need to buy in bulk for your family this holiday season, they are a great place to look. Your family will thank you (or Santa) for the high quality presents they receive and you will be feeling great about all the money that you saved.

A good place to look is in the men's section or the special holiday displays at big retail stores like JC Penney. I often find great gifts here. If you want to find a gift that would be great for your husband or father this is the place you go. It likes a grown man's toy store. There are some many interesting gadgets that you can purchase for a reasonable price. The same goes for some of the holiday items for kids and women. The important thing to do is to keep a sharp eye out for out of the ordinary displays. You never know when you might find a great gift.

Something special you can do for your children is to have Santa Clause call them. This is great for the parent who wants to keep their kids from knowing you; the parents are the ones that get the presents. You can set up the call online for a great price and give your kids a cherished holiday memory.

4 Ways To Get Gifts Your Children Actually Like This Christmas

By Ellie Evergreen

This Christmas, many people are out shopping for the perfect present for their loved ones. This is often a trying experience as you can never be quite sure that the gift you purchase is the one that your friend or family actually wanted. So what is a person to do? This doesn't have easy answers and many people have come up with their own suggestions. However most of them fall into the same categories. I'll try to mention some of them and hopefully they will help guide your holiday shopping this holiday season.

The first general approach is simply to ask. This can be interpreted different ways for different people. In most cases hearing directly from the person what they want will guarantee the gift choice will be perfect and exactly what they wanted. However the downside is that there is a risk that the element of surprise is diminished. So another approach is to find out in a roundabout way. This is tricky because it requires you to have really great observation and listening skills. Otherwise the result will be that you mishear what the person wants and your gifts are returned after the holiday season. Either way it depends on how well you know the person. It is generally easier to buy something for a loved one or close friend than for someone you just have a passing acquaintance with.

The next approach is to look at the latest trends. There are certain items that everyone wants to get either to be considered trendy or simply because they are just that good. So a good idea is to look for items that are new innovations on previous products. Merchandise of popular celebrities and entertainers is another great option to look at. The most important thing to realize however is that what is trendy is not always immediately obvious. Sometimes an item that you would not have looked twice at yourself will become the hottest thing since sliced bread. This makes it important to pay attention to the news and other publications so that you can get the first scoop on such developments.

Go for the classics or goods that are perennial favorites. There are some gifts that are so great and popular that they pop up every year. In the past you would have to look them up in consumer guides and similar publications. However the internet and the growing popularity of online shopping makes doing this research a lot easier than in the past. For example on Amazon.com, many categories of items are ranked according to which item is selling the most. Looking at lists like this will allow you to find quickly the items that are the most popular for their given category.

For your children simply pay attention to the commercials that come on during their favorite shows and the things they put down in their holiday wish list. This will make your choices for their presents that much accurate. A commercial will often shape what they want in some way or another. Also the wish list is the simplest and most direct way to find out what your kids want without being too obvious about it.

Something special you can do for your kids this holiday season is to have them receive a letter from Santa. This will surely make their Christmas all the more special.

Need To Relax This Festive Season? Try A Christmas Hotel Break!

By Mark Walters

Love it or dread it, Christmas is inevitable. It's starting sooner and sooner each year too, so that what was once a festive 2 weeks is now a festive 2 months. The pressure's on to fight late night shoppers, order turkeys and vast pork pies, and work out how to be in three different places on Christmas Day. There's no escape.

Or maybe there is, if you dare to try something different and break from the normal, society imposed, traditions...

It's not necessary to forget about Christmas altogether, unless of course you want to; rather, it's a case of having a different type of Christmas, one which takes a bit more imagination and planning, but one which you will forever remember.

City breaks are always a popular choice and there are plenty to be had at a reasonable price for those shopping around. Prague and Vienna are ideal for such a break, as both are rich in history and wonderfully beautiful. You'll be able to walk around the Christmas markets, sample the various delicious types of foods and, of course, have a festive drink or two.

Curiously, although renowned as one of the most romantic and magical places in the world, Venice is comparatively overlooked when it comes to spending Christmas away from home. Gone are the souvenir stalls and sweltering August crowds, as the population seeps to just half of its summer size. Spending Christmas in Venice gives the visitor a chance to enjoy the real city, with its wonderful architecture fully on show and evening concerts in its vast, albeit chilly basilicas.

If it's that traditional White Christmas you're dreaming of, then the ski resorts of Switzerland, France and Austria are great places to head for. Sunshine on crisp snow, pine-covered mountains and crackling log fires all make for that perfect Christmas card scene. And, away from the slopes, a glass or two of hot punch always goes down well as the snow softly falls.

But for a Christmas with an even bigger difference, imagine being out in the deep, silent snow at night, lying on a reindeer skin as amazing colours dance and shimmer their way across the sky. Imagine the spectacular Northern Lights. Several destinations offer a great chance to see the Aurora Borealis in all its magnificent glory, including Finland, Norway, Sweden and The Yukon.

There really is something for everyone in the range of Christmas hotel breaks available. So, before you dig out those fairy lights for another year, stop for a moment. Do you really want to spend another Christmas half asleep on the sofa with indigestion? Go on... dare to do something different.

Can You Afford To Celebrate Christmas With A Big Dinner? Try A Brunch Instead

By Angela Tyler

Perhaps your family is re-thinking their Christmas dinner plans this year. You may be traveling, you may be eating a meal at several family's homes, or you simply want to cut costs this year by eliminating a big sit-down dinner. Planning to share a Christmas brunch may suit your plans this year for any or all of those reasons.

If you are considering your family's budget, big sit-down dinners tend to be more expensive than even the nicest brunch. The menu for a big dinner will normally include a large meat main course, numerous side dishes, and many fancy desserts and candies. The beverages served during a formal sit-down dinner in the evening will typically include fancy drinks, wine, and after dinner drinks. In other words, a big dinner can add up to a lot of money.

For a family who needs to travel, eat at more than one household, or cut back on expenses, a Christmas brunch could solve many of those problems. Let's see how we could put together a brunch that would be festive, fun, and have food that is filling, but inexpensive.

Brunch Casserole - Recipes for these dishes are too numerous to count! Assembled the night before your brunch, this is probably one of the most popular of all the time saving dishes you can make. There are a variety of combinations of ingredients to consider, beginning with hash browns, bread, ham, sausage, onion, green pepper, broccoli, and cheese. This is held together with a generous portion of egg, baked and served hot by cutting into square segments, similar to lasagna.

Skillet Dish - If you've ever had a Frittata then you know what a skillet meal is like. For brunch, you want to make the Frittata using a variety of breakfast-like foods. Starting with some hash browns or rice, you would fry that up with whatever sausage or ham you like, maybe some vegetables, then pour the egg over and let it set up. Cover it with some shredded cheddar cheese and you have a complete meal in a skillet.

Muffin Tin Meal - Picture mini pot pies full of your favorite breakfast foods. You can start with some simple biscuits in a tube, roll them out flat, and line the muffin tin just like a pie pan. Then fill with sausage, a little hash browns, and crack an egg on top. Sprinkle some shredded cheese on top and pop them in the oven until they are nice and golden brown and the egg is done. Or you can make up a batch of muffin mix and throw in some ham bits, or bacon, and cheese and turn a regular muffin into a whole meal.

Omelets - This item on your menu won't work for you if you don't want to cook while you have guests in your house. If your kitchen is far removed from the area where your family and friends will be mingling, you probably wouldn't want to prepare omelets. However, if your house is set up with an open kitchen dining room area where you'll be gathering right around the cooking area, then you may find this fun. Be sure to get all your prep work done well in advance so that you are ready. Wash and chop all the veggies you are using in the omelets and get the assembly line well organized so you don't miss a beat.

Prepare a variety of food and fill your brunch buffet with lots of choices and your guests won't be disappointed. Add a tray of fresh fruit, some coffee, tea, milk, and juice, and your brunch is complete. Don't forget a simple assortment of cookies to finish off the meal. No fancy pies, cakes, or candy for brunch. Some of your guests could be on their way to another meal!

You don't need to spend a lot of time or a lot of money on a nice Christmas get together. These simple ideas for planning a brunch can help get your family together for a nice meal, without all the fuss. Enjoy your Christmas celebration!

The Perfect End To A Perfect Holiday Dinner - Easy Crockpot Dessert Recipes

By Susanne Myers

I would like to make my favorite desserts this holiday season, but I know the cooking is going to be more a task of strategy than of cooking. Juggling desserts in and out of the oven is a struggle. So, this year I've decided to develop some crockpot dessert recipes to free up my oven for the main course and avoid all the struggle of shuffling dishes around. Now my turkey can stay in the oven where it belongs!

Turning your family's favorite desserts into crockpot dessert recipes isn't difficult. I have chosen three of our favorite recipes to make in our crockpot this year. Let's see how these crockpot dessert recipes differ from their original recipes.

Apple Crisp: This dessert is one where the timing is most important. You want to serve this dessert hot with a little scoop of ice cream or whipped topping. The melting topping is what makes this dessert wonderful! Use your basic recipe, but add a touch more butter, then cook it on low for a couple hours or until the apples get soft, but not all mushy. Figure out your timing so that you turn off the heat just before serving.

My recipe is sort of a variation of both apple crisp and bread pudding, so a crunchy topping is optional. If you like, you can mix together the ingredients for the topping in a saucepan, then top the apple dessert either in the bowls or in the slow cooker just before serving.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Brownies: Regular brownies are good, but this chocolate brownie dessert with peanut butter swirled in is a special treat. Very moist and yummy! This dessert is made with brownie mix, but it's spooned into dessert bowls, not cut into squares. Serve while the dessert is still hot so you can add some ice cream or whipped topping and it gets all nice and melty!

Add a bit more fun by using some candy sprinkles to the topping. You can decorate with Reese's Pieces or other peanut butter and chocolate candy. Even peanut butter cups cut into bite size pieces would be a nice touch. Just be sure when you plan the cooking time that you plan to have the dessert done just before you want to serve it so the brownies are still nice and warm.

Pecan Crust Cheesecake: One of my favorite desserts is cheesecake. It's fun using what can be considered a mini oven. Basically, you use the same recipe you normally would. The important thing to keep in mind is you'll be using a 7" springform pan so you need to make sure it will fit . A 5 or 6 quart size is usually big enough, but measure to be sure. Then, make a simple graham cracker crust with some finely chopped pecans added, form the crust in the bottom and up the sides a little in your pan. Make the filling according to the recipe you normally use, then fill your pan.

You'll need to put a small rack in the bottom to hold the springform pan off the bottom. If you don't have a rack that fits, just pull a good length of aluminum foil off the roll and form a donut shape out of it to support the pan. Put that on the bottom and put your pan in. Just be sure the pan is at least an inch off the bottom. Use enough foil to get a good support. You want to cook your cheesecake on high for several hours, then shut off the heat and let it sit in there for another hour or until it's cool enough to handle. Then you'll let it cool completely on a rack on the counter before you remove the pan from the cheesecake. Because you serve cheesecake either room temperature or cold, you can actually get this prepared ahead of time. Remember to refrigerate any leftovers... like you're going to have any!

Rather than struggle another year shuffling food around all around the kitchen, leave your dinner cooking in peace and quiet, tucked safely away in the oven where it belongs. Because a holiday dinner is not complete without desserts, this simple plan to create new crockpot dessert recipes out of favorite old standards will help with all that last minute chaos. Why sacrifice any sweet treat because you lack room in the oven? Get out your crockpot and start re-creating your own favorite dessert recipes. Enjoy!

4 Ideas For How To Decorate Your Home For Xmas

By Ellie Evergreen

Any person who knows about Christmas knows that you need to start decorating as soon as November ends. However many people and families have to deal with a smaller budget than last year. So what can you do to still decorate you home for the holidays in fantastic style and still save money? Actually the ways to are numerous and depend on what each person has to work with. Here are tips for the person who has decorations and the person who will have to start from scratch. These should be helpful to anyone in either category.

For the family that already has decorations they planning are very simple. You want to find decorations that will augment what you already have. You should look for new items at your local Wal-Mart or Dollar store. You should be able to find great deals on items such as tree ornaments, tinsel, and wrapping paper. You should also take inventory to see what items can be reused from the previous year and what has to be thrown away. Also keep an eye out for special decorations that will last year after year. Also make sure to check the tree. If you use the real thing then you already know to replace it. If you us a fake one check to see if there is any part of it that is broken or can be a potential hazard.

Something special you can do to augment your collection is to have personalized decorations for each member of your family. Try to find ornaments that symbolize important things that happened for each member during the year. You can also give special ornaments as Christmas gifts. You should also make sure to check Christmas lights for indoor and outdoor decorations to make sure that all the bulbs are working. Also check that you fire proof rooms that will use these lights.

Now we talk about the person who has no decorations. You are basically starting from the beginning so here are some things that you can get on the cheap. First it would be smart to get a fake Christmas tree. This is a great investment because it is durable and most can be easily assembled and taken apart. Shop around to get the best price. Another thing to keep in mind is to find cheap decorations where you can at crafts stores as well as Dollar Stores. This holiday season you are going to try to focus more on the look rather than durability.

While you won't be trying to buy many durable decorations try to find one or two that you know will look great for years to come. This should be something you do every holiday season. It will help you buildup your own collection so you don't have to spend as much each year. Also take advantage of sales to get outdoor decorations at reasonable prices. Something else you can do is to have family members make homemade decorations. You can find the materials to do so at your local crafts store.

Something special that you can do is to have your children get a letter from Santa Claus. This is easy to do. You order the letter online and customize it according to the good things your child did during the year and what they wanted for Christmas.

The Christmas Meal - Plan A Lovely Brunch This Year

By Angela Tyler

Perhaps your family is re-thinking their Christmas dinner plans this year. You may be traveling, you may be eating a meal at several family's homes, or you simply want to cut costs this year by eliminating a big sit-down dinner. Planning to share a Christmas brunch may suit your plans this year for any or all of those reasons.

When your budget is part of your decision. consider how expensive a fancy sit down meal tends to be. You'll have a large main course, typically a big piece of meat or poultry. Then you have all the side dishes to go along with that, and we can't forget the desserts. Of course, what's a nice cup of coffee without some wonderful fudge and candy. You'll also might serve beverages that cost more, like mixed drinks and wine. Evening meals just seem to cost more.

For families who are struggling trying to enjoy Christmas while sticking to a budget, a brunch may be just what they need. If travel plans and sharing meals at more than one household are a problem, a brunch may solve that problem, too. Take a look at some simple, yet delicious, ways that you can plan a meal that would suit such a festive occasion.

Brunch Casserole - There are many variations of this meal-in-a-pan, so you are sure to find a recipe that is quick and easy to make and serve. Some are made with potatoes, such as hash browns, or even bread cubes, then sausage or ham, egg, green pepper, and cheese are added to form a complete meal. This is normally refrigerated overnight and ready to cook in the morning.

Skillet Dish - With little fussing, you can create a delicious dish right in a skillet on top of your stove. Most people have seen or heard of a Frittata. Well, basically, this is a Frittata made with breakfast foods. You start with any starch like rice or potatoes, add celery, onion, tomato, sausage, or anything you like. Fry that up, and then pour on the eggs. You let it cook like that until the eggs are solid, then top with some shredded cheese if that suits you.

Muffin Tin Meal - Make individual little pot pie style dishes by forming a crust in the muffin tin with some refrigerator biscuits. Mix up some egg, hash browns, cooked sausage or bacon, or any other breakfast foods you like, and fill the cups. Bake them and serve them warm. These are not only cute and delicious, but you can make a variety so everyone can have something a little different.

Omelets - The only reason I hesitate to recommend omelets for brunch is that they can be time consuming for the host. If you decide to make omelets, you'll need to have an assortment of fillings available, and that will take some preparation time. And, after all the preparation is over, you will have to stand at a stove whipping up the omelets for your guests. If your set up is such that you'll be stuck away in the kitchen while your guests are mingling in the dining room, this may not suit your plans. However, if you have an open concept kitchen and will do most of the entertaining and dining right there near the stove, then it may work out well for you. It all depends on how much cooking you want to do while your guests are there.

A wide variety of food should be planned for your brunch in order for your guests to walk around and sample a little bit here, a little bit there. Brunches are meant to be casual with a lot of mingling and mixing. Don't forget to get the coffee started early. Have a choice of coffee and tea, as well as nice pitchers filled with milk, juice, and water on the table. You can forget about the fancy desserts, but a few cookies would certainly be nice.

With just a few ideas for a simple brunch menu, you can put together a nice meal for Christmas. It's all about spending time with the people you love and not spending your hard earned money on a big fancy dinner. Enjoy your brunch!

The Season For Christmas Lights

By Jane Moore

The Christmas season is fast approaching. The first week of December often heralds the beginning of Christmas decorating including the putting up of festive Christmas lights. Although, the fact of Christmas lighting has remained constant for decades, the actual Christmas lights have undergone an enormous evolution.

At first glance it seems as though Christmas lights and Christmas decorations rarely change. We still use the same wreaths, garlands, mistletoe, stars and angels that out grandparents did. We still hang Christmas lighting from the edges of our roof tops. One of the special things about Christmas is the cherished continuity. It always feels the same. However, in reality Christmas lights have undergone a metamorphosis.

Historically, Christmas decorative lighting was cumbersome. It was heavy and fragile which is always a bad combination. Each individual light was hand screwed into the string of lights. One burnt out light bulbs caused havoc. Each bulb had to be individually tested to find the offending bulb. Each year multiple replacement bulbs were required. In short old fashioned strings of Christmas lights were beautiful and joyous but often a big fat hassle.

The technology related to lighting has advanced considerably and accordingly so have Christmas lights. Most modern Christmas lights are made of tiny LED lights. These lights are tiny, light weight, (recently) inexpensive, and very energy efficient. In fact, a recent study out of Germany and reported in the New York Times claims these lights are five times more energy efficient than their predecessors.

Small LED lights are also great for creating focal pieces such as light balls and light stars. These focal pieces are starting to get very popular. At one time they were very expensive but now they can be found reasonably priced at Ikea.

Indeed, it is the time for Christmas lights. Our homes and communities will be decorated as they have been decorated for centuries. Everything might look the same. However, with new technology Christmas lights have changed for the better.

Town of Levoca, Slovakia - Well Hidden Gem

By Hilary Swanson

The last decade has seen an enormous growth in the numbers of travellers visiting countries in the east of the expanding European Union, and Slovakia has been a particularly popular destination. People have discovered what a fabulous city Bratislava is, for example, and, just 60 kilometres away from Vienna, it is within easy reach for most people. Now, there is a real enthusiasm for exploring the less well-known parts of this fascinating, land-locked country - and the small town of Levoca would make a fabulous choice.

Levoca has a relatively small population in that it is below 15,000. It is a historical area, and is almost like something you would see in a picture. It is 350 kilometers from Bratislava, and is the main part of so called the Gothic Route. There are also some national parks nearby, such as Slovak Paradise and High Tatras, which are great for tourists regardless of the time of year.

Levoca was recently recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and while it's not the most popular vacation spot on Earth, everyone who has been there believes it deserves this recognition. Inside the town you will find that there are still six watch towers from the old world, and many of the buildings still have their original walls, which date back several hundred years.

The town's major portal, the Kosice Gate, is directly behind both an ornate Baroque church and an eighteenth century monastery. The town square itself, which is a photographer's dream location, houses the 14th century church of St Jakob, a Town Hall dating back in parts to the 15th century, several other impressively grand buildings and the symbolic and strange 'Cage of Shame'.

The Church of St Jakob is notable especially for its magnificent example of a Gothic wooden carved altar. Made by famous local craftsman Master Paul, this is the largest example of its kind in the world and, together with 10 other winged Gothic and Renaissance altars inside the church, makes an astonishing interior.

The Cage of Shame is one site that is quite memorable, though the reasons for it being memorable are different from the other sites in the town. The Cage of Shame is a sign of ages past, when public humiliation was less than a thing of the past.

This is a town that will cause you to lose yourself. It is such a symbol of our past, and it is a part of Slovakian heritage that one will not soon forget. After all, the Slovakian National Anthem was heard first in this town.

There is a great hotel to stay at in the town, which is known as the Hotel U Leva. It is located in the town square, and is nearly impossible to miss. It is a beautiful sign of the classic era with all the modern amenities inside. In addition to that, there is also a great restaurant within.

It's not a real tourist attraction, but that simple old fashioned charm certainly makes it attractive to many. It contains a plethora of Slovakian history, and tourists are always welcome.

Travel Websites Explained

By Marie Fisher

This is an exciting period for people to travel an as there are now very few inaccessible places on this planet. But, wherever you want to travel to, you can guarantee there will be a travel site that can give you details on every location. In fact, many people have turned to planning entire vacations on a website. The main problem is the convenience of it all and the huge savings that can be found using the internet.

Although I am not one to put my complete trust in these sites and still like to visit my travel agent. However, I am still of the old school and prefer to sit down with a cup of coffee and plan my vacation with a professional, face to face. With a travel agent, I can change my mind about my plans several times, call and ask questions, and have someone to blame should my vacation not turn out to be what I was hoping for.

The difficulty comes with the aspect of trust and speaking to someone on a phone, who knows where, does not instill confidence. With a travel agent they are real and I can always go back to them and clarify points especially if something goes wrong. Although I do know someone who waits for the last minute cancellations to come up on travel sites and books them every time, saving a good deal of money. There are always huge savings to be had by waiting until the last possible moment to book but you have to be flexible with your travel arrangements to do this.

They may say something just to appease you and it will not hold true in the end. It is this fear of the problems that can occur and if they do happen it is too late that prevents me from being more trusting in the way that I trust my travel agent. I have a good friend who would never use a travel agent as she books all her last minute vacations using travel sites because she can save a packet of money. Admittedly, she has save a small fortune this way as she will just look at the sites and be patient until the right vacation comes up at the right price.

I'm not one for last minute travel although I suppose I could be if my schedule was more flexible but my job requires me to ask for vacation months in advance. Other savings to be made using travel sites are the costs of other day trips or tours that are not part of the main vacation. Knowing a little about what you want and information about the location you want to travel too can be useful so I still research as much of this as I can online before I pay my travel agent a visit. Perhaps it isn't fair because I know that it will be my travel agent that will hear my complaints if my vacation doesn't go according to plan.

By Stuart Rangers

Situated within lush tropical gardens, the villas manage to keep you immersed in Balinese culture for the whole of your stay, without inducing any sense of discomfort within guests. Whether travelling with your partner, a friend, a group of friends or your family, the space and privacy associated with villas allow you to enjoy your holiday without having to enjoy the company of others every second of the day.

While hotels provide adequate accommodation for holiday-makers, villas are much more ideal in terms space, comfort and privacy.

When deciding on which villa you want to stay in, you should consider how long you are staying. Villa complexes and hotel villas are specifically directed towards holiday-makers staying between a week to a month. While foreign owned villas can be for this purpose too, they can also be used for people looking to stay long term (one year or more). Locally owned villas are generally only for those staying long term. A google search for Bali villas provides many websites advertising these different types of villas, however there is one more thing you need to consider before choosing a villa.

It is important to think about what part of Bali you would like to stay in. Towns such as Ubud and Seminyak offer a more tourist-focused presentation of Balinese culture, with many talented painters, musicians and dancers residing in Ubud. On the other hand, rural villages such as Canggu allow tourists to experience different aspects of Balinese culture. Canggu provides a dream paradise for surfers, with large swells and ideal beach conditions. Canggu is also quieter and cheaper than most places in Bali, making it the perfect retreat for those in search of a relaxing holiday.

So if you're planning to get the most out of your visit to Bali, no matter what the other variables are, make sure you consider the obvious advantages of staying in a villa as opposed to a hotel.

3 Smart Ways To A Little More Money On Your Holiday Shopping

By Ellie Evergreen

This holiday season everyone is looking for ways to save some extra money on their Christmas shopping. This makes a lot of sense especially with everyone trying to find the best deal and keep as much of their money as possible afterward. This is because most families are already on tight budgets and getting some of the items on loved ones' wish lists. This is why finding as many ways to reduce costs when shopping becomes so important to do. So how do you make it possible to pay less? For the newbie that might seem as a pretty difficult task beyond the average sales and discounts that you are aware of. However all it takes is the knowledge of where to look and how to combine savings to get the most bang for your buck. Here are some great suggestions to help you get started.

It may seem trite to say but coupons work. They help you to chip away at the overall cost of your purchases by taking off a couple of cents here and a couple of dollars there. You may only know of the coupons that you use at the supermarket, however, there are coupons for just about any item you can buy. Knowing where to find them and how to best combine them for serious savings is a must if you want to get the most out of your holiday shopping. First you can find coupons online. There are some great websites with coupons that you can use. You just need to Google them. However, be warned. There are sites out there that will try to scam you. Confirm any coupon you get with the store or product they are far. It is as simple as calling the customer service line. Also try to avoid any sites that want you to pay to get the coupons. Another place to look for coupons is in the junk mail.

Another source for great discounts is by shopping at Big Box stores. These are stores like Sam's club that sell many items that you want on your holiday list in bulk. This allows you to find many of these items at discount prices that will help you save more money on your holiday shopping. If you are already a member of such a store then take advantage of it. If not go to the nearest store near you and sign up for a membership. It has become increasingly affordable to join in recent times. Some of other benefits of shopping at a big box store are selections and great return policies. For buying electronic and many toys, you will be able to find great name brands at prices you can afford. You can also have pretty good return policies in case your purchase doesn't turn out all right.

A good source for saving is the spam you get in your email. Like junk mail every now and then you will get some great offers from some of the stores you like to shop at. Also for the makers of some of your favorite items you can find information on rebates and other great discounts. If you are not receiving mail from them you can get some by registering for newsletters at their websites.

Something original that you can do for your kids this Christmas is to have them get a letter from Santa. You can now order these letters online and customize them to be perfect replies to each of your children's letters to Santa.

Hiking Tent

By Karen Dreyer

Hiking is an extremely enjoyable activity that can be shared by the entire family. Many people go hiking in order to catch up on some much needed bonding time. And with the demanding lives most people lead today, it's very important that the hiking trip be as easy and flawless as possible. And to do this, you need the best hiking tent.

But picking a hiking tent is no easy matter. You don't just enter into a shop and pick the one which is most aesthetically pleasing to you or even the one in your favorite color. You have to take note of a number of different factors to make sure that you get the hiking tent that's perfect for your needs.

Weight

One very vital thing to take note of is the weight of the tent. When you go hiking, you will be bringing along many things in your backpack. Cooking sets, knives, sleeping bags, and many more will have to be carried in your backpack along with your hiking tent. Because of this, your camping tent should be light and very easy to carry around. It should also be easy to pack so that you won't have any problems when you need to move on and put your camping tent back in its duffel bag.

Also, take note of the weight of the metal pole. There are ultra lightweight poles now made of strong metal alloys. If you choose them, you will save a considerable amount of energy when hiking.

Features

Next, you must consider the different characteristics of a hiking bag. Try to see if the bag has any windows that are sufficient for letting a bit of draft in the evening. However, make sure that these windows can be closed too so that if it gets a little too cold outside, you can stop the cold from seeping in. Check too if the mesh that's used for the window has small enough holes that the mosquitoes and other bugs won't be able to get into.

Next, check if the tent itself is tightly sealed and truly waterproof on the bottom. Remember that the grass becomes dewy in the morning. You don't want to wake up in a wet bed, so waterproof tents are absolutely essential. It will also protect you in case it rains.

Also, you have to consider the size of the tent. No matter how cute the small ones look, do not be tricked. Pick ones with big head room so that you will be able to move around easily. It's best for activities like dressing up or even just sleeping.

Sporting Life Energizes Cardiff - Vale Of Glamorgan

By Frederick Hoymer

The Welsh capital Cardiff - Vale of Glamorgan has become a capital of European sports.

The modern history of Cardiff is traced to 1081 when William the Conqueror, by then known as William I of England, started building a castle inside the walls of an old Roman fort. Ever since then, Cardiff Castle has been the city's heart. During the Victorian period, John Crichton-Stuart, the 3rd Marquess of Bute, commissioned the architect William Burges to alter and enlarge Cardiff Castle, but its original Roman stonework can still be seen in some of the walls.

Today Cardiff serves as the capital of Wales, its largest city and the seat of government, industry and culture. The last shouldn't be unexpected, as the city boasts among its native sons such luminaries as Ivor Novello, the 20th century musical star recalled in the movie "Gosford Park"; popular children's author Roald Dahl, for whom a street, Roald Dahl Plass, is named; and author and screenwriter Terry Nation, who created the Daleks, the perennial robotic nemeses of TV's favorite Time Lord, Dr. Who.

No doubt may a sport has been pursued in and around Cardiff's locale during the nearly 8,000 years that humans have been living in its environs, according to archaeological findings.

Cardiff houses the National Assembly for Wales, which gathers in a new building constructed on the waterfront near the Millennium Center arts district.

Cardiff also is gaining fame as an arts and media mecca. It's the birthplace of popular children's author Roald Dahl, who has been honored with a street named after him, the Roald Dahl Plass next to the Wales Millennium Center. The late screenwriter and author Terry Nation, who created the robotic arch-villains the Daleks for the long-running science fiction program "Dr. Who, " is also a son of Cardiff.

Speaking of "Dr. Who, " the revived version of the series, along with its more adult spin-off "Torchwood, " is now produced in Cardiff, which has become the center of Welsh media. The city houses studios for BBC Wales, S4C and ITV Wales, making Cardiff the largest film, TV and multimedia hub outside of London.

The city also has become a mecca for independent TV production with more than 600 companies employing some 6,000 employees generating an annual gross revenue for the region of 350 million. Parts of the popular UK television shows "Gavin and Stacey, " "Tracy Beaker, " "The Worst Witch, " and "Merlin, " among others, are filmed around Cardiff.

Porch Awnings: Great Way To Improve Shelter

By Leon Fink

One of the great products you can use to live outdoors regardless of the weather is an awning. If you're looking to protect yourself from the weather and create a peaceful environment for your road trip, then a caravan porch awning is the way to go.

Complexity: Simple

The Plan

Items You'll Be Using:

1. A canvas tarp

2. A roll of measuring tape

3. Preferably nylon rope

4. Stakes

5. Poles that are adjustable for tents

6. Scotchguard With Weatherproofing Feature

Brainstorming Stage

Using the measuring tape, determine your caravan's length. How big do you want your awning to be? Canvas tarps can be bought in almost any size, but many are maybe nine feet in depth. Do your best to measure what size will be perfect for your use.

Ordering Your Materials

Give a few phone calls to authorized canvas tarp dealers and talk to someone who is experienced in the use and various sizes of canvas tarps. Mention the dimensions of your awning and then place an order for what you need.

Purchase Other Necessary Items

Make a stop at your local outdoors store and pick up the tent poles, stakes, and the nylon rope. For best results you should purchase six tent poles and one hundred feet of nylon rope. Try pre-constructed pieces to ensure the building process is as simple as possible. Get all the items and pieces of same together in the same room once your canvas tarp arrives and prepare to assemble your caravan porch awning, first at home.

Stop In An Appropriate Area

Park your caravan in a large enough space that fit the awning you're desiring to build. The best thing to do is pick a spot with very soft earth. If you have to be somewhere not so soft, it's not the end of the world. For tar roadways, use tent stakes and metal nails to drive through the tar. For concrete, hammer a stake into a crack, which will also avoid unnecessary damage.

Setting Up Your caravan Porch Awning

Place your canvas tarp on the ground and arrange it so as to correspond with each side toward the proper corner of your caravan. Attach the tip of one tent pole into the grommet of the canvas tarp corner you have closest to the caravan. Make sure you lift the corner of your awning until it becomes vertical. Stake this pole into the ground, taking care to hold it in place until it's securely in the earth.

Putting On Your Awning Line

Make your awning line by using fifteen feet of that nylon rope you bought. At one end, create a loop and knot tightly so that loop will stick around at the proper side of your rope. Use that loop to hook it over the highest point of the vertical pole -- this will allow the other end to be secured with a stake which will be pressed down into the canvas by the loop. Make sure the loose end of the rope is always nailed down with a stake.

Completing Your Tent Poles

Connect your final tent poles to their corresponding grommets. When finished, you should be looking at three awning poles for the rear and three more for the front of the awning.

Protecting Your Awning

Now you have your caravan porch awning and it looks great, but it's very susceptible to weather damage. Spray your canvas tarp down with the Scotchguard you bought. Leave your tarp for three hours so it can dry, then go for a second coat. When you're through, your awning will be weatherproofed for good. Remember to store your awning in a dry and cool place.

Visit Denmark - Five Reasons Why You Should

By Isabella Olsen

Denmark is a Scandinavian country with a rich history and cultural heritage and a number of world-class attractions. If you want a clearer picture, though, here are the reasons why tourists visit Denmark - the very same reasons why you should, too.

1. The Happiest Nation on Earth

Among its many accolades and awards, Denmark has earned the distinction for being the happiest plcae on earth, and you'll find this easy to understand once you visit Denmark. In its capital city, Copenhagen, alone, you will find Danes smiling while shopping along Europe's longest pedestrian streets, having a family picnic in the Tivoli Gardens or simply enjoying a carefree stroll in the gardens of the Amalienborg Palace, particularly during the country's seemingly endless summer days. Even in winter when the sun rarely shines, recreational activities abound, while there are festivals scattered throughout the year, like the three-day Carnival of Copenhagen, the equally colorful Aalborg Carnival, the Odense International Days of Blues and the Holmsboe Festival in Horsens. Indeed, if you were a Dane, you would be happy, too.

2. Freetown Christiana

If you want to see the other side of Denmark, there is no better place to go than Christiana, the anarchist district of Copenhagen. Although most famous (or infamous) for its Pusher Street, where drugs like hash and skunk weed are sold openly, Christiana's charm lies in its unique culture - its atmosphere heavy with the sentiments of the hippie movement, and progressive ideals. It is also a great place to go if you're a health buff, because of its yoga centres, organic markets and vegetarian restaurants.

3. Danish Design

Danes are also known for being excellent designers in almost every field. The Royal Danish Library and the Copenhagen Opera, for example, are just some of the architectural gems of Denmark while museums such as the Danish Design Centre, Danish Museum of Art and Design, Museum for International Ceramic Art and Museum for International Contemporary showcase the Danes' expertise in creating furniture, glassware and ceramics which are all functional yet seemingly effortless works of art. Denmark is also home to the SAS Royal Hotel, the world's first designer hotel with trendy creations by Arne Jacobsen while stylish clothes by Danish fashion designers like Bang & Ofulsen are easy to find almost everywhere in the country.

4. Danish Cuisine

For its cuisine, Denmark has various regional specialties like pan-fried plaice with wild berries in Skagen, pramdragergryde (lumps of pork with bacon and coarsely chopped vegetables) in Gudena, cabbage sausage in southern Jutland and bidesild (herring soaked in brine) in Mon, while open sandwiches or Smorrebrod can be found almost everywhere. For tasty Danish gourmet dishes, try eating out at one of the Michelin-starred restaurants in the country, like Formel B, Restaurant Ensemble, Restaurant Herman and Noma.

As for drinks, Danish beer tops the charts, particularly the pilsner type or those that are hand-brewed, although you will also find Mead, bitters and fruit wines in various pubs and restaurants in Denmark. During the Christmas season, Glogg or hot punch takes over the reins, though, and is the perfect drink to accompany the Julekofrost or Christmas feast.

5. Zoos, Parks and Other Children's Attractions

Denmark is also a great place to bring your children, with renowned zoos such as Copenhagen Zoo, Odense Zoo and Aalborg Zoo, and museums such as the Viking Ship Museum, the Hans Christian Andersen Museum and the J.F. Willumsen's Junior Museum, which will help them learn more about the history and culture of Denmark. The Skuldelev Museum is a must-see attraction for kids who visit Denmark, too, with its collection of dolls and different toys from various decades.

Regardless of their age or interest, kids are also sure to love spending a day at Bon Bon Land and the original Legoland in Billund so take your children there when you visit Denmark. There are also many playgrounds in parks throughout the country, like those in Remiseparken, Valbyparken and Faelledparken, while the Selso Castle offers a treasure hunt for those who want to explore.

It's Possible To Find A Tenerife Cheap Hotel

By Gary D Pearson

A Tenerife cheap hotel can give you one of the best vacations in one of the most stunning locations in the world. The shopping and the beaches are beyond compare anywhere else. Finding hotels that you can afford can be simple and still let you enjoy yourself without having to worry about money.

Tenerife as an island belongs to Spain and it is one of seven in what is called the Canary Islands. Sitting in the Atlantic Ocean just off of Africa, it is well-regarded throughout Europe and other regions because of the beautiful vacation atmosphere it exhibits. There are a great many beaches and resorts from which to choose, and the population of 900,000 swells greatly during holiday season.

The simplest way to choose a room is to check for the pricing online. Web sites will often have the most current pricing and deals to be had. This can be especially useful if you are planning a trip two or three weeks before you plan on going. Occasionally, they will also have last minute deals if the hotel is not filled up.

If you do plan on taking your trip at the last minute, do check with your travel agent. Many times they will be able to find deals they you cannot get anywhere else, especially if you're taking your trip on Monday or Tuesday. Typically, travel agents are kept up to date on cancellations that can benefit you.

You should plan on staying for two or more days. By staying multiple days, and checking in earlier in the week, you can say considerably more then going on a weekend.

Finding Tenerife cheap hotels can be simple. The day of the week, and how many days you plan on staying, can get you the best deal on your lodging. This can let you enjoy your sun without having to think about the cost of the trip.

Bakugan Battle Brawlers-The Game Play That Sharpens Your Wit And Gives You Endless Fun

By Tom Villa

Bakugan Battle Brawlers is a well known collectible toy and card game inspired by an anime. This toy is expected to be one of the best-sellers for this coming holiday. When you first the out the game, it does seem a little intimidating. Do not worry as you can easily immerse yourself with the game play after a few rounds.

At minimum, you need two players to start the game and both are seated face to face. The players' respective Bakugan Gate Cards are placed on the battle board. Then, one player will roll their Bakugan towards the board followed by the other player. The battle begins when the players' Bakugan landed on a gate card and the Bakugan opens itself.

At the start, each individual has to select three of the following; Bakugan Battle Brawlers, Gate and Ability Cards. To make the game play longer and more challenging, you can decide to add traps. The winner of the game is determined by the total value points he managed to accumulate. For instance, one point is awarded for one Brawler.

The battle starts when you have two Brawlers on the same Gate Card. Once that happens, you add up the scores of Brawler, Gate and Ability Cards. This is how it works except for the special written rules which do not follow normal rules. The player with the highest scores wins. As his reward, he will take the Gate Card. At the subsequent rounds, the players cannot employ the exact Brawlers. When the player wins in three rounds, he should have three cards and thus is victorious.

Every game is different from the previous ones; making the playability value very high. From over one hundred Bakugan Battle Brawlers, Gate and Ability Cards to choose from, you can be assured of playing this game for a long time to come. Keep playing so that your skills are improving. Avoid being cocky as the every games may turn out differently from what you expected.

Feeling Drained After That Flight?

By Eddie Lamb

People who have the time to lose waiting at airports but not a sufficient amount of assets do not need private jets. But for those that have the assets at their disposal but not a sufficient amount of time to lose, they want private jets. I know this might seem hard to digest for you, but there are many folks out there that can't afford to lose a single minute because that time could mean wasting $1,000,000. For such persons they would rather pay many thousand dollars to travel via private jets than lose time at airports.

Travel In Style. There are no extra weight charges as you can literally carry as much luggage as you like. Security is yet another issue addressed and taken care of while using private jet travel as it will only be yourself and well known parties traveling with you, which do not pose any security risks whatsoever. Security and baggage are probably the biggest hassles that every day traveler faces today when flying and which can be combated very efficiently on private jet travel.

Trust me -- it's not compulsory that one must be the owner of a private jet before they can enjoy it. By just renting a private jet you can still get the same benefits as a superstar who owns a private jet. Traveling by commercial airlines can be very strenuous especially if you do it often, and all in one day, due to business obligations.

Also, with a charter private jet you can pick the time to travel and the exact destination unlike the case with a commercial flight. It's no longer essential to book in advance with a private jet.

The Best Convergence Of Comfort And Convenience: The speed that the small private business jet gives to the people who use them, ensures that money is saved. Since the people can move without the limitations of a fixed time-table, they can do more business and cover more ground in the time they have. Hence, the extra cost that the small private business jet asks in return of their services is well justified.

Another beauty with private jets is that they have the unique ability to fly with ease in and out of small municipal and even rural airports, but big commercial planes can't. When you compare the cost of buying or renting a private jet you will agree with me that they don't come cheap -- but tell me, what's the cost compared to the many benefits of private jets?

What About A Luxury Trip To A Tropical Island? Besides the fact that the private jet will fly as per your requirements, the flights are usually in the lap of luxury. Not only that, the private jet rentals usually take care of the whole trip, if you permit them. Hence, booking of hotel rooms, transfer from airport and within the city, everything can be taken care in advance so you could concentrate only on the work you have at hand. When you are emotionally hard pressed, such services would be indeed highly appreciated.

Private Jet Services. There are many people who operate with two or three small planes, luxurious inside, to a small but exclusive clientele. It is something like running a limo service - only that, this is in the air. Ordinarily the buyers for these services are large corporations who offer these types of perks to their chairmen, guests and high-end clients.

Time is so important to most of those that fly private jets that one can compare their 5 minutes to millions of dollars in the bank. Those that mostly fly via private jets are those that don't compromise when it comes to their comfort and convenience... no matter what the cost is. The Internet is all you need when searching for up-to-date news about owning a private jet or renting one for yourself and/or your company.

Make The Most Of Free Birthday Ecards

By Calvin Patel

I'm one of those people who can't remember when my friends' birthdays are. I'm lucky if I remember when someone in my family has a birthday. Most people understand and accept that, but sometimes it can get tricky if I can't even manage to send off some kind of happy birthday card.

I ran into this situation again just a little while ago. Someone close to me had a birthday coming up - a fact that occurred to me the day before it arrived. I was going to be in a lot of trouble if I couldn't scrape something together fast.

Like so many before me, I turned to the Internet in my time of need. Surely I could find some ideas for cheap and fast birthday gifts online. Surely there were instructions for making a simple happy birthday card or, failing that, instructions on how to offer the most sincere apology ever seen in this hemisphere.

What I came across was a site that offered free birthday ecards. I had heard about these before, and had even received one a few years ago. At the time, I have to say, I wasn't all that impressed. It had some overly cute puppies prancing around on it, and the sudden noise of' dogs barking the Happy Birthday song was a little embarrassing in an office situation.

But I was desperate this time, so I looked a little further into the free birthday ecards that they listed on their site. They were a little different from the one I received so long ago. There were a lot of options available that actually seemed like something she would enjoy.

I looked through the site and skipped the ones with cheesy animation and electronic sounds. I was more interested in customizing something that would impress her a little more than that. This time I went with a free birthday ecard that let me embed a YouTube video. It required a little extra research to find the right one (the one that involved a real puppy staring at the camera with really puppy dog eyes). It was so heart wrenching she would have no choice but to forgive me. I ended it with a much happier note, though, that should make her smile.

But one never really knows what will happen until you actually send it. And I understand that emails aren't the most personal form of communication, but at the same time there was a good chance that such a personalized message could win me points.

This is clearly not the same as sending flowers or jewelry, but I did have to put in some time and effort to get the right one. I don't know if she'll consider free birthday ecards the equivalent of those other things, but it's the thought the counts. And if it's not, it should be.

The Hotel Reservation System: The Perfect Property Management Software

By Jefferson Johnson

Hotel and property management has never been an easy job for any manager or individual. There are just a lot of things to keep track of and a lot of aspects to look at. For a hotel business for example, managers need to keep track of maintenance of rooms and facilities, rent, day to day operations of the hotel, as well as keep track of outflow and inflow of guests and reservations.

Hotel management must be concerned with the simplest matter of the business up to the biggest matters like making sure that all the guests of the hotel get nothing but the best service they may have. If you can just truly imagine the scenario of hotel management, you will really begin to loo
