Helicopter Flight School - Requirements To Be A Private Pilot

By Bruce Hogan

Are you a flying aspirant? If you have a passion for flying an aircraft then you need to enroll yourself at a helicopter training school. There you can be equipped with the right skill of flying an aircraft. Once you have finished the course curriculum of the training school successfully then you are eligible to apply for a license necessary to fly. When you acquire the license then the very next moment you can call yourself a helicopter pilot.

Becoming a pilot is not as simple as it sounds. It is far more difficult and complicated to become a helicopter pilot than just completing the course and acquiring the license to fly.

To have a better knowledge of this try to concentrate on this?

Having enough finances are a must before you enroll yourself for a helicopter-training course. This course is just like a long term commitment involving a lot of money (according to a rough estimate it ranges from $20,000 to $45,000). As this is a great amount to shell out therefore it must be pre-planned properly. You cannot afford to miss even a single hour of training. Always make sure that at entering of course that you come out with full training that contains full training hours and you don?t run out of resources. It is very embarrassing to know that you have 20 hours of training left and you ran out of resources.

The medical requirements necessary for flying must be kept in mind well before joining the training or acquisition of license. You should know if you are fit and healthy before joining a helicopter training school. Get a medical certificate from the practicing doctor for your fitness. Before enrolling for a helicopter-training course you have to keep in mind two basic things: First the location of the helicopter training schools. And second the cost of training. Since the cost of relocation is very high that is why you must choose a training school which is not very far away from your place. The cost of training should also be kept in mind. You should not run out of resources in between of the course.

After acquiring a Helicopter license and once you have finished the training you can be called as a helicopter pilot. Depending upon the flying training there are two kinds of helicopter pilot licenses: Private Helicopter License and Commercial License. Their training is not same either. You can think of these two types of licenses as the first having a professional driving license and the other non-professional driving license. Last but not least if you have decided to make flying helicopter as you career it is your experience and skills that will fetch you a handsome salary.

Gay Travel Tips for Bhutan

By Howie Holben

Tucked between Tibet and India in a remote region of the Himalayan Mountains, lies a tiny Buddhist kingdom called Bhutan. Visitors to this spiritually and culturally-rich country will find a simpler way of life that is largely unaltered by Western culture and modern attitudes. Every aspect of life in Bhutanese villages and towns is steeped in the age-old traditions, beliefs, customs and practices of Buddhism, which is the basis of this countrys conservative, traditional way of life.

Although Bhutan is a conservative, traditional country in most ways, folks on gay travel tours are welcomed by the warm Bhutanese people and the tariffs paid by visitors on both straight and gay vacations are used to improve life in Bhutan through education, public services and economic growth and stability. Because tourism is limited, travelers who have the opportunity to explore this mystical Buddhist kingdom should take advantage of the chance to experience the rich Bhutanese culture to its fullest.

There is not any scene to speak of in Bhutan, which means that a gay vacation planned to this majestic mountainous region would certainly not be for the purpose of seeking out and experiencing LGBT life in a different culture. This is not to say that there is not same-gender intimacy in Bhutan; in fact, it is a common and accepted occurrence. However, there are no words for gay, lesbian or bisexual in the languages of this region and ones identity is not influenced by sexual behavior.

There is a noted level of bisexual behavior among men, most of who are either married to women or monastic monks, and this is not considered taboo. There is technically a very old law on the books in Bhutan that states that homosexual activity is punishable by imprisonment with the possibility of a life sentence; however, most residents are not even aware of this law and there are no records of it ever being enforced.

Partaking in gay travel in Bhutan is an experience that provides the opportunity to experience a community and culture that has been left relatively untouched by Western culture and offers an ideal environment for spiritual awakening or renewal. Bhutan gay vacations include opportunities to visit Buddhist temples, hike through the Himalayas and explore sacred sites.

To truly experience Bhutan, visit this majestic land as part of organized gay holidays, which will ensure that you have the opportunity to fully discover this beautiful, spiritual country, while respecting the local culture and traditions.

Alaskan Cruises Will Inspire You

By Matthew Shaulis

Alaskan Cruises will inspire and amaze you with all the magnificent scenery and wildlife that Alaska has to offer. Princess cruise line offers Alaskan cruises on nine different Princess cruise ships and several embarkation points on the west coast.

Alaskan cruises departing from Seattle will leave you with a lifetime of memories. The magnificence of Alaska's scenery is so breathtaking that you will likely forget that the Princess cruise line cruise ships are a destination unto themselves. Princess also offers guided tours of Alaska's wilderness and will take you into the heart of Alaska.

Alaska's Inside Passage is one of the most scenic areas to cruise in the world, home to bald eagles, whales, sea lions, otters, brown bears, mountain goats and flocks of seabirds. Plus you'll visit a variety of exotic ports of call full of rich history and native culture. Alaskan cruises will visit Anchorage, Skagway, and Juneau, just to name a few of the ports where you can immerse yourself in the heritage of Alaska.

The Royal Princess cruise ship offers-- day "Alaska Connoisseur" cruises of Alaska and the Inside Passage embarking from Seattle. The Royal Princess is a newer ship, but is not overloaded with passengers and can be a very intimate experience. These smaller ships are a bit more expensive to cruise on because of the intimacy they offer, so although they are perfect for Alaskan cruises, they might not be perfect for your wallet.

There are also smaller Princess cruise ships that visit Alaska and should be considered if you can afford them and want a very intimate cruise. As a rule of thumb, you can figure that the smaller the boat, the more expensive the cruise will be. Alaskan cruises are no time to skimp on price though, you will certainly want a balcony room to take in all the amazing scenery on Alaskan cruises.

Families that wish to visit Alaska on a cruise should consider the larger Princess cruise ships. As a general rule, the larger the ship, the more family friendly it will be. Children soon tire of scenery and need to be around other children to play with when they get tired of viewing the glaciers. Smaller ships will have far less children, not to mention the price tag of booking a small cruise ship through the inside passage of Alaska.

By Amanda Sula

One of the most exotic and great places to visit for an cheap and enjoyable holiday is Egypt. It's history and imagery are majestic to the eyes. Not to mention the weather is pure ecstasy at certain times of the year.

Egypt is host to a great deal of attractions that will make you trip worthwhile. When you arrive their is no shortage of things to do and the first thing you will notice is how much of a tourist attraction Egypt really is.

With its bustling cites, wildlife retreats, and a very detailed history, it is without a doubt your best bet for an enjoyable holiday. The weather is very pleasant there and pretty much make great times to Egypt even more pleasant. Adult prices start off as low as three hundred or more, and this is usually for a seven day duration at most resorts.

The Sharm resorts lie not to far from the beach making it a great beach holiday retreat. The prices range from two hundred and ninety five to four hundred dollars. With a great view of the Red Sea and the comfort of the resort. The price is a great deal fro such a beautiful location.

The best time to achieve low prices are November and December, with the tourist rush between October and May. The summer months are less packed with residents, so getting that tourist feel is at its best. The spring is also a good travel time but the fall season is the best.

Egypt is home to a desert and it can get hot. So be sure to pack some light clothes with you on your journey. Another trial are the sandstorms which are caused by the warm Khamsin winds in spring. Egypt also hosts a festival known as Ramadan, which is quite strict on its drinking policy and store hours. No alcohol is not allowed during this festival month and most tourist stores close early. The plus side to this is that toward the end of the month, stores stay open to wee early morning and people party all night after the fast of the festival.

When everything is set up right a trip to Egypt will be an everlasting experience that bring lots of good memories and thankful wallets and credit cards.

6 Exciting Family Xmas Activities

By Ellie Evergreen

This Christmas families are looking for ways to spend the holidays with their family and have fun. They also don't want to pay a lot of money in the process. This might seem daunting in a society where everything looks to have a price. The great news is that as a parent there are many fun activities that you can do with your children that will cost little or no money but will allow you to still have one of the most memorable Christmases your family has ever seen. The only thing you need is the willingness to look around your town and neighborhood and use your imagination. Here are some great suggestions to get you started.

Visit family that lives nearby this Christmas. If spending Christmas with your children is fun then spending it with extended relatives can only be better. Get together with your parents or brothers and sisters and see if you can plan a big family Christmas. This has many benefits. You and your kids get to see family that you may not normally see on a regular basis. There is also the simple fact that the more people there are, the more lively a celebration can be. It can also help you to cut down on cost for Christmas when everyone pitches in.

You can have a simpler Christmas breakfast rather than a big holiday dinner. You will have already spend a significant sum of money for your Thanksgiving dinner, so it may not be prudent depending on the state of your finances to have another big holiday meal just a month afterwards. A Holiday breakfast is cost effective because it is easier to make and the ingredients are easily available and affordable. You can have small holiday touches to your breakfast to get into the spirit of the season. This is a great way to have all the benefits of a holiday meal without the problems.

You can go see a performance by your local church. Every Christmas churches put on special plays or concerts. These are open to the public and can be quite beautiful and entertaining. If you want to find good wholesome family entertainment that cost little or nothing, this is definitely something to take a look at.

Go to local community events in your area. Your city will likely have many holiday events planned. They can be anything from a Tree lighting ceremony to a holiday parade. These are events that are supposed to promote civic pride and unity during this winter season. They should be going on from the end of November through New Year's. Take advantage of as many free events as possible this Christmas.

You can also choose to stay at home and have a family game night. If you think about it, it may have been ages since everyone in your family has sat down to play a favorite board game. This is a great opportunity to do just that. Play great games like Monopoly or Life. The fun of competition and sharing a special moment with your family are great moments that you will never forget.

You can also have your kids receive a magical call from Santa. Your kids will have the special experience of speaking to Santa in person. The service is quite affordable and you can see the special effect the moment will have on your children.

Make Christmas Travel Easier for Kids

By John Adams

Many families travel for Christmas. While traveling for Christmas can be a wonderful experience to see loved ones near or far away - the actual experience of travel can sometimes be very frustrating. Kids especially find travel stressful and challenging. Fortunately, there are ways you can make Christmas travel easier for kids.

Bring along some activities for your kids. You may be very focused on catching a connecting flight or carrying your luggage, but keeping your kids occupied should be just as important. This is not simply for your kids' sake but also for the other passengers. Remember that kids who are not happy may fuss, whimper or cry. You don't want your kids to disturb other passengers. This experience alone will make travel more difficult for your kids as they feel even more stress, being around adults who are unhappy with their behavior.

Involve your kids in parts of the travel experience. Get out a map and show them where the family is going. Talk about how many miles you are traveling. Read storybooks about planes or trains before you travel. Read storybooks about the town, city or state before you go. Let your kids help pack their suitcases and even shop for Christmas gifts for family. They will get more excited about the holiday travel and will feel like a part of this experience.

It's okay to offer a reward for good behavior. Giving your kids an incentive for behaving well on the plane or train is appropriate, as long as your expectations are not unrealistic. Most small kids will get restless during some part of your trip - no matter what you do. Siblings may argue.

You know your kids better than anyone else. Choose a reward such as a fun activity for the next day or a special treat when you land. The kids will look forward to this and it can help remind them to behave well - that they will receive something they look forward to.

Your Pumpkin Creations

By Michelle Lanny

Carving jack o' lanterns is such a quintessential Halloween activity but sometimes you just don't want to deal with all of the mess and potential injury, only to produce an ambiguously expressive work of art that doesn't look as good as the stencil pattern you were copying. The idea behind artificial pumpkins is the same concept behind the artificial Christmas tree, except that they save you the trouble of cleaning up pulp instead of pine needles. They're also much lighter and easier to set up. By choosing to decorate the front of your house with artificial pumpkins instead of real ones, you can help spread the Halloween cheer (or fear) with half the hassle.

Artificial pumpkins are available at most any place you'd be buying Halloween decorations and supplies, and they come in a wide variety-big, small, happy-faced, scary-faced, or with a bat design, and so on according to your preference. The designs are clean-cut and the pumpkin itself is made of durable foam. Many artificial pumpkins even come with their own light bulb so that when you plug in some batteries, they're ready for display. In the dark of the night, they almost look just like the real thing and when Halloween is over, you can store them away to use for countless Halloweens to come.

However, buying pre-designed pumpkins instead of carving them at home might not sit so well with people who like to celebrate the old-fashioned way. For some, carving jack o lanterns is a great way for family and friends to have fun together during the holiday celebration and opting for artificial pumpkins takes away the fun of it.

And while pumpkin pulp is a big mess to deal with, it makes for delicious toasted pumpkin seeds and pumpkin pie. Artificial pumpkin foam isn't as edible. If you use real pumpkins, you might have to throw them out every year but it's not such a waste b/c you can get full use out of the entire squash.

So, natural or artificial pumpkins? Maybe a combination of both, so you can save money but retain DIY appeal? That way you can satisfy those who like to get their hands dirty as well as others who aren't so craft-oriented. Either way, you should decide soon because you have to make your pumpkin purchases quickly before all of the good ones are taken and you're stuck with the leftovers.

Getting Your Flight License - Time You Need For Your Pilot Licence

By Bruce Hogan

Like most of us once, we have decided to embark on an adventure, we are anxious to get right at it. It is no different when it comes to one wanting to obtain their private pilot?s license. Once of the first questions you probably want to answer is how much of your time is it going to take to achieve your goal. There is no one answer to this. Its dependant on many factors. First, it depends on the location of your training and what is available. Are there several training facilities or just one? Do they operate full time or part time? Is there a waiting list to get in? These are all questions geared towards how long it will take.

Some of your decisions will structure the time frame. For example do you want to learn to fly in a rural setting where there is not much traffic or are you going to opt for city training where there is high traffic volume. There are good and bad points to both scenarios. It would be ideal if you could have the best of both worlds. Learning to fly in both a country setting as well as a city setting would certainly hone your skills as an upcoming pilot.

If your training is taking place in the city, you are going to be dealing with multiple runways, numerous other planes and even navigating landings via the winds. These factors are not so evident in the rural setting. No matter which setting you choose you will still have to learn the same flying techniques and skills. FAA regulations stipulate that you must be able to land and take off from a landing strip that has air traffic control via their tower.

Once you start your research for locating a flight training school, you will encounter both approved and non approved schools. This does not mean that the non approved schools are inferior. There was a large demand for pilots to carry out military operations as well as a requirement for commercial pilots. This demand created the birth of the approved flight training schools. Private Pilots remained and still do with the smaller non-approved flight training schools. The majority of these candidate want their private pilots license for recreational use or in some cases small business endeavors. All schools no matter whether approved or non approved must adhere to the same certification standards and regulations. The most noticeable difference between the two types of Schools is the non-approved have small operating budgets so they tend to teach at smaller airfields with most basic planes. They have smaller student quotas and the instructors are not paid the high salaries found at the approved schools.

When it comes down to how long it will actually take you will primarily depend on whether you can donate a full time schedule to your training or whether you can only intermittently attend training. In addition to this is available of room in the course. If flight training schools are scarce in your area then there maybe a waiting period to get in.

Christmas Gift Baskets for Men

By Juliette Crane

Buying gifts for men can be difficult. Buying for women is so much easier! You know the routine. "Dad, what would you like for your birthday?" "Oh, I really don't need anything, but thanks! A birthday cake will be fine." Hmm. Men are so reluctant to give you a clue and they typically do not admit there's anything they need or want. So, before you go out and get him another tie, check out these ideas for some macho gift baskets for men. You can make it yourself or purchase online.

You can fill gift baskets for him with food items if you wish, and that is always something that is appreciated. This is especially good for the single guy that does not like to shop or cook. I know this is something that we often get for my dad. He lives on his own and is not a great cook. When we find something he likes that we can include in a gift basket, it saves him from cooking a few meals, and he is always happy to get this.

Every man has food and beverage favorites. Some men even like to cook. The traditional food gift basket may seem like an obvious choice, but you don't need to fill this basket with the usual lineup - sausage, cheese, jams and fruit. Maybe your man loves nothing better than a good cup of Joe and oatmeal cookies. Give him what he likes!

Let's say your guy does a lot of fishing. A big tackle box makes a macho presentation in this gift basket for men. Men who fish cannot have too many bait jars, lures, line and weights. A visit to the fishing section of any sports store reveals many interesting lures and types of bait.

Some men are after-shave and men's cologne connoisseurs. They somewhat secretly collect new scents, with judicious dabs that hopefully wow the ladies. They like to experiment with different fragrances. Go to an upscale department store and engage the help of a clerk at the men's counter. Let the clerk know you're looking for unusual, designer or new after-shaves and colognes. These gift baskets for men can get pricey, but hey! He's worth it. Get a sturdy rattan shelf style basket that can sit on a table or hang on the wall.

If he's the scholarly type who's always reading, there are what might be called book accessories. Try starting with an assortment of bookmarks and bookplates. If you've never shopped this market, you'll be amazed at the beautiful products that are available. A magazine-style basket might be a good choice in this man's gift basket. Tuck a bag of gourmet coffee or a bottle of his favorite liqueur inside and you're set!

Though most men might seem a little put off when you hand them a gift basket, they are going to change their tune very quickly when they see they aren't getting a pile of fruit, but rather a basket full of goodies that they are going to love. It's not that fruit is bad, but most men won't see much value in getting a basketful. However, just about anything else is going to be very welcome and very appreciated.

Caribbean Holidays- Charming Way For Revival And Rejuvenation

By Edward Watkinson

Holidays give us an opportunity to get rid of all the tensions, worries, agony, and stress that we accumulate from our study centres, and workplaces. You definitely need to pick a right destination to make the most of your holidays, and enjoy the things, the way you want to. Many tourists are of the view that no place can be a better option than Caribbean, if one wants to make the most of the holidays, but before deciding Caribbean as your next holiday destination, you must also keep this fact in mind that there are hurricane possibilities, and similarly, tropical storms can also spoil your holidays.

Well, a considerable number of tourists are quite well aware of these vagaries of weather in Caribbean, and they often ask about the time that is best to visit these paradise-like islands. They want to know about hurricane hotspots, and the way they can prevent such conditions. They also look for information about the right timeframes for the good weather overall and how they should plan their holidays for Caribbean.

The fluctuation of Caribbean holiday packages being offered for tourists is a regular occurrence. The prime attribution for these fluctuations is the nearness of the hurricane season. To attract tourists to the holiday spot during hurricane season, the holiday deals offered during this time become very convenient from the perspective of the customers with respect to facilities and budget. This period starts from 1 June, and continues until the end of November. Though the duration is long, nevertheless, it is true that the period is risky regarding hurricanes.

There are statistical estimates signifying that about 98 percent of the tropical activities take place in the span of these months, and the peak period is from August to October, with September taking the limelight with respect to intensity of weather.

Though there are a number of preventive measures that one could employ for safety, nevertheless Nature does not give a sure shot assurance about the validity of those measures, or the calmness of the climate.

The weather of Caribbean is almost the same, as there is in some North American countries; the summer and the winter share many similarities with what it is like in these areas.

A list is available containing measures to avoid these hurricanes, and tropical storms, the most effective being to choose only those islands to visit, which have a safe climate. Amongst these are Curacao, Bonaire and Aruba, nevertheless it is not a guarantee that these places will not be affected by the hurricanes, and the wild weather. Another way to avoid these harmful weather attacks is to visit the place in between December to May. In addition to that, one can also opt out to sail in a Cruise Ship, which can be effective in locating the pattern of the weather, which if dangerous, the route could be altered.

Nature has no certain timeframe, and it can show its tantrum any time; however, even if we cannot stop it, we can at least avoid it with the help of some protective measures, and the best measure in this connection is to get maximum information, and utilise this information when deciding your tour.

Why Not the Perfect Caribbean Cruise Vacation

By Virgo Skoobalishus

Of course the simple fact that you're going to be on a Caribbean cruise means that you're going to have a fun vacation. However you can add some additional effort to create a trip that you will remember forever. We've compiled a list of things you can do to make a good trip great. This article will cover some ideas that will help you create a great Caribbean Cruise.

Most people think sun and beaches when they start packing for their Caribbean cruise. But look beyond your swimsuit when filling your suitcase. Even though you'll spend a fair amount of time on the beach, you will enjoy other activities as well. Pack some tank tops, shorts and a sundress or two. But also throw in a light jacket and one warm outfit.

The temperature can change quickly on your vacation. These few ideas can insure a more prepared trip. It's also good to bring essentials such as sunscreen and a good pair of shades. Then of course don't forget pastimes such as a magazine, binoculars and snack food also.

It's good to keep in mind that health care is at a premium. Certainly this holds true of you're at sea for long periods of time. Always make sure to bring extra medication with you just in case. Also make sure that you've confirmed that any sea sickness drug will not effect your medications.

While a Caribbean cruise may seem like a once in a lifetime opportunity, it is not the time to push yourself beyond your physical limitations. You want to enjoy the whole cruise in good health. While it is good to come prepared, you don't need to pack your entire medicine cabinet. Cover the essentials and you will be fine.

Think about how much cash you want to carry with you. ATMs are good to use. While it's not a big concern to be attacked by pirates, don't carry a lot of cash, this will deter pickpockets and thieves. However make sure you have enough to tip the staff on the cruise for shopping while in port. This again is where ATMs will come in handy. Paying the usage fees will be less painful then losing all your money to crime.

It is a good idea to have a trusted friend or neighbor watch you home for you while you are on vacation. This should help you feel more at ease and enjoy yourself. It's good to use a friend whom you trust. You should continue any home services as if you were still at home. Also, let people know how to reach you if they need to.

A few simple things can make your dream vacation one that is truly relaxing. These simple steps can ensure true peace of mind that allows you to really enjoy your Caribbean vacation. Pack strategically, minimize your cash on hand and make sure your home is well tended. Then embark on a fantastic vacation and enjoy the beauty of the Caribbean.

9 Hot Tips On Making Disney World More Affordable

By Joseph Archibald

We all want to save money on our holidays and a trip to Disney World is certainly no different. Even spending a single day in Disneyland can cost us a small fortune, so taking a vacation there can mean taking out a second mortgage on your home. So with this problem in mind, what can we do to make this trip of a life time that much more affordable? Here are top 9 tips to really help keep the money in your pocket!

* Get hold of a Disney Rewards Credit Card. This card offers Disney points for every single purchase you make when using the card. These points can then be redeemed towards your ideal Disney vacation. You can use the points towards Disney merchandise, Disney restaurants, hotels, theme park tickets and more.

* Visit off-peak. If possible try to visit Disney World at off-peak times. Such times are when the kids are at school. Obviously this is going to be difficult if you are taking your own kids so its not practical for all. But its worth keeping in mind that crowd levels and visitor numbers are far reduced at off-peak times.

* Get yourself an annual pass. If you plan on visiting Disney World more than once in the year then its good going getting your hands on an annual pass.

* When is your birthday? If you are to register your birthday on the Disneyland Website you will be able to take advantage of a free one day pass. This pass will be mailed to you when you first register and even if you are unable to make it to Disney World on that particular day, it would make a lovely gift for someone close to you.

* Stay in a Disney World Hotel. May seem an expensive option but it saves on traveling time and gas costs. Disney's own bus service, monorail and boats are all free for guests and those staying in Disneyland hotels are offered free airport pickup and put down and extended theme park visiting hours too.

* Utilize the Disney camp sites. If you can forgo the luxury of hotel accommodation you can save a ton. You can take your RV or you can pitch a tent. Great fun for all the kids!

* Make your food purchases before you enter the theme park. May seem a bit too much effort but when you consider that even snacks and soft drinks when purchased in the theme park will soon add up to a decent sum of money then it does make sense to make a few purchases at a grocery store before you enter the theme park for the day.

* Take advantage of special offers on the Disney website. Its good policy to regularly check the Disney website because there are often very good deals to take advantage of on there. Its a good way to plan your itinerary too.

* Become a member of other companies. Other companies such as the AAA offer various Disney discounts if you become a member. This is not an option for all but its worth having a look and seeing what is available through other company schemes.

Tanning Booths

By Angela Jones

It is a well-known fact of life that a lot of people want to get a great celebrity tan just as if they had been soaking up the sun on a private beach in California. You would be able to get an all over tan with no clothing or strings to restrict the tanning process on your private beach. But private beaches do not come cheap, do they? Buying a tanning booth is one the several different ways that you can make use of to get the all over tan that you require.

These tanning booths are quite comparable in design to the tanning booths which are very popular in commercial tanning salons. As with tanning beds, there are many brands of tanning booths on the market for both commercial and domestic tanning bed apparatus. So, you will need to look into these different tanning booth systems closely in order to find one that suits you and your resources. There are nevertheless a few notes of concern that you should keep in mind when choosing your tanning booth.

When you are using tanning booths, you will observe that these booths use very high temperature ultra violet bulbs to rapidly bring about the changes your skin will have to go through in a tanning session in order to become bronzed. Just as when using tanning beds, you will have to use some protective eye glasses when inside the tanning booths. These safety glasses will shield your eyes from becoming injured by the powerful, but injurious ultra violet rays.

On the other hand, if these ultra violet rays are quite so dangerous, why do people desire to subject themselves to such lengthy periods in tanning booths? Well, the response is really quite plain, it is just because of the fact that people want to have a beautiful, golden coloured skin. Another point is that, since there is so much dreadful information in the papers about the dangers of sun tanning, it is simple to understand why some people decide to try the sunless tanning route instead.

Which is where tanning booths, among other products, come into their own. However, having mentioned a few details and hazards, if you are still thinking about acquiring a sunless tan then you might be interested in reading the benefits of using a tanning booth. The first benefit is that you can get a tan whenever you like. The second benefit is that the tanning booths take up less room than tanning beds as they stand in a vertical position.

However, before you go out and purchase a tanning booth, it is a good idea if you check out what a range of people have had to say about the products. If you still feel that tanning booths are the answer to your wishes, then there is a wide selection of tanning booths for you to consider.

Once you get your tanning booth installed in a spare room, you will never look back. The simplicity of use and being able to fit your tanning sessions in no matter what time of the day or night you like is of immeasurable advantage.

The Benefits Of A London Oyster Card

By Rajul Chande

The Oyster smart card system has significantly changed the way London's "tube" operates.

An Oyster card allows you to use most of London's public transport network (though a few stations remain outside the system).

It gets you a huge discount on standard fares and helps avoid the hassle of queueing to buy tickets.

The system automatically saves you money by calculating the lowest fare at the end of each day based on your exact travel that day.

If you travel more than you expected to initially, it only charges you the lowest fare instead of pricey singles and returns.

So does the Oyster scheme have any downside?

It can sometimes be a bit complicated for new London visitors, since you have to buy an Oyster card in advance. You may need to pay a few quid deposit (but you should get this back quickly in savings).

You also need to "touch the card in and out" for all legs of your journey. But you'll pick this up fast if you mimic the scores of London commuters you'll see every weekday.

So unless your trip to London is a mere day-trip, you're advised to get yourself an Oyster. Based on current information, Oyster cards don't expire, which allows you to re-use them on future London trips.

If you do not expect to come back to London in the near future, you can usually get your deposit back (but please verify this with London Underground before you purchase).

There is a "Visitor Oyster" card which you can buy from some outlets but it's not 100% clear at the moment what its benefits are to tourists.

If you really don't want an Oyster card, you should at least make sure that you buy the cheapest London travelcard for unlimited access to the tube and buses for the entire day. But you may need to wait until after 9.30am on weekdays to access the cheapest fares.

You could also grab a weekly travelcard for an even bigger discount in case you're in London for longer, but this does mean that you need some sort of photo.

Remember that Oyster cards and travelcards are valid on both the tube and buses, though not all national rail stations are covered. Please check before you travel.

For more information about Oyster and public transport in London, do visit the official Transport for London website.

Finally, please make sure you wait until after 9.30am on weekdays to avoid London's extremely high peak-time prices.

How To Proceed With Outdoor Christmas Lights

By Cody Scholberg

A guide for first year decorating

Obviously, if you've never attempted setting up an outdoor Christmas lighting display before now, you probably could use a few tips on how to get it underway. Most people's biggest concern is working with electricity and if this is a first time, some safety tips are in order. Check with an electrical professional to get some guidelines about what you should have in the way of equipment and safety in order to get started.

Small home owners have an easier time of deciding how to go about decorating their property for the holidays. After all, it only takes a small number of lights on the front of a small home to make an outstanding showing. Add to that a few wreaths on windows and the front door and perhaps over the garage door and you're all set. You will probably be shown some very energy efficient lights to get you start on the right foot to participate in the "greening of the environment".

Ideas for your first Outdoor Lighting project

If you want a particularly nice focal point, place a small decorated tree on your front stoop or porch. Place colored or clear white lights on the tree for instant "holiday". The most energy efficient lights are the LED bulbs or try some of the rope lights if you'd like to wrap them around porch columns. They are equally energy saving lights.

Small children in a home sometimes dictate what will be the focal point of your yard decorations. Take them with you to the lighting/display store to help choose a perfect front yard figure. The joy you will experience from their going along to make a decorating decision will be enough to make it all worthwhile. Chances are, they will choose a lighted Santa as their special lighted Christmas display.

Get the supplies you need on that same trip to the store

Most everyone chooses to put their light display on a timer so that at a specified time each night, around dusk, the lights come on, and at a time that you select, they automatically turn off at night. This can serve as a good security measure as well. No one will know whether you or home or not. This is a great feature if you plan to be away at Grandma's for a couple of days/

Just think how proud you'll be of yourself next year when you have everything you need to set up that holiday display once more. It won't be a question anymore of how to begin, but when to begin. If the small children at home have any input, they'll want the decorations put up very soon after Thanksgiving.

Cheap Christmas Gifts

By Geraldine Dimarco

That gleeful time of year will soon be rolling around once more. If there's one season that people always love and look forward to, it's Christmas. All that eggnog, snow, yummy food, holiday cheer and opening of presents sees to get people excited.

Every year after Christmas there are huge sales. This is when I do a great deal of my shopping and I get great cheap Christmas gifts. By cheap I mean the price, the quality is always great. Each year I buy for roughly the same people. There may be a birth in the family or an addition of a friend, but the core people remain the same. As I am shopping through the year if I see something that I think would make a nice gift for someone I will buy it, especially if it is one sale. This way I am able to safe money with the cheap Christmas presents, yet the person gets a nice gift.

Many times during the holidays if you are looking for cheap Christmas presents they look cheap, and everyone that haws been out shopping has also seen the items and knows that they are cheap. We all like to save money, especially on the gifts we give, but we do not want to be considered cheap.

By spreading out the gift buying through the year I do not put such a big strain on my pocketbook all at once. Also I do not have to spend as much time in the malls when they are crowded. This gives me extra time to bake, entertain and enjoy the season. I have one closet in a guest bedroom where I store the gifts that I buy through the year. My husband laughs that there are times when I get surprised at the gifts that I bought a long time ago and have forgotten about.

The subject of cheap Christmas presents is a rather tough one and certainly varies from person to person. What some folks want to receive on Christmas, others do not. This is why it's wise to consider your family as an individual unit. Think about the things they like and the cheap Christmas presents they would most likely enjoy. Just because you don't spend a great deal of cash, doesn't mean that your Christmas gift is lame or useless. Furthermore, a wonderful place to shop around for excellent cheap Christmas presents is on the web.

Use European River Travel Fro A New Look At The Continent

By Samson Mandez

As for many travelers, the idea of a cruise vacations may automatically conjure images of equatorial islands and cocktails sipped on the deck from a big oceangoing vessel. While this is a big component of cruises, there is a little-known alternative that is bound to delight you: European river travel.

If you are an old hand cruise patron looking for a new experience, European river travel will present you with a way to stay on the water when the tropical cruise period has ended.

With European river travel, you will avoid the constant hassles of car gridlocks, changing accommodation every other day, and having to take lots of flights. And you will see wonderful places that are inaccessible to a seagoing cruise across Europe's coasts.

Most European river travel will involve visiting beautiful cities such as Vienna, Regensburg or Strasbourg, but you will also have a chance to sample nature's delights in beautiful protected parks, and if you like mountains, the Alps and the Carpathians could only be a day trip away from your cruise boat!

An Internet search will guide you to some first-rate reductions on European river cruises, especially if you are able to wait until the last moment before reserving your trip.

If you want to go the full way, the best trip that you can go on is a one-month voyage across the continent's main rivers, the Rhine and the Danube, which are connected by canals in southern Germany. With this kind of trip, European river travel will take you all the way from Holland to the Black Sea.

This kind of European river travel will allow you to explore the charming lowlands of the Netherlands, the forested areas between Germany and France, with the incredible backdrop of the Rhine in this area, and then to cruise through Bavaria and Austria, Hungary, and finally to the well-preserved Danube delta in Romania.

The vessels used for European river travel are far smaller than their ocean-cruising counterparts, usually having space for less than two hundred travelers. So you will be treated with a far more bespoke service, and you will see sights that you couldn't glimpse at from the decks of the ocean ship giants.

There are a wealth of things to see and do while enjoying European river travel, and you will finish the trip surprised by the experience. In fact, you may even decide to explore some other part of Europe by boat next year!

Baby's First Christmas

By Geraldine Dimarco

The holiday season is a time for children and it's especially exciting for families who are celebrating baby's first Christmas. There are traditional and not so traditional presents available for the youngest member of the household. Many of these baby Christmas gift items will be treasured for years to come. Of course, babies have been known to be more fascinated by the wrapping paper!

The excitement of having a new baby is overwhelming and we may feel a compulsion to purchase the intitial baby's first Chrsitmas stocking that passes our vision. However, you do want to keep this for your child in future years. Putting some consideration into such a keepsake is always a good idea.

Many new mothers like to put a lot of time and effort into creating a keepsake for their child's collection. Most of these moms will crochet a blue or pink baby's first Christmas stocking for the special commemorative holiday. The colors do not have to be pastel, either. You can choose different shades that reflect the holiday season as well. I would love to be one of those moms but I have trouble tying my shoes let alone crocheting a baby's first Christmas stocking. Some of us may have the good intentions but we are really doing everyone a big favor if we buy the finished product outright.

Looking at a Baby's First Christmas ornament and remembering those tiny, chubby hands that she had for her first holiday season brings tears to my eyes. When I watch her helping to decorate the tree, I get such a feeling of pride and happiness. Her eyes light up at the mere mention of Christmas and she still waits in line anxiously waiting to tell Santa what she desperately wants for Christmas. The holidays have a sense of magic to them now that I'm a parent.

I found that getting a personalized item was the right choice for me. The baby's first Christmas stocking is timeless because I chose a traditional red and white-fur stocking for the project. The personalized stocking is perfect because it is my baby's first Christmas stocking. His name is an important part of the keepsake.

5 Charming Christmas Present Games

By Ellie Evergreen

Many families will be looking forward to the magical moment on Christmas morning when they get to open the wrapped presents under the Christmas tree. This is an age old tradition that has never lost its excitement. However you can make the day even more exciting by making a game of opening the presents. This can make the anticipation of what you and your kids will get that much greater. These are often called Santa games. Here are some great examples of some games you and your family can play this holiday season.

Unwrap the gift is a great holiday game that your family can play. The rules are simple a random assortment of gifts are purchased at a reasonable price. Then each of the gifts for the game will be wrapped in several layers wrapping paper. The game then works like musical chairs or hot potato. A holiday song or carol is played as the gift is passed from family member to family member. When the music stops the person who has the gift has to peel one layer of wrapping paper from the gift. The music starts again and the process is repeated. The person who removes the last layer of wrapping paper gets to keep the gift.

If you have stocking stuffer Guess what is in the Stocking is a great holiday game to play. Fill a big holiday stocking with goodies. Then have each family member feel around in the stocking and guess what is in it. The people who guess accurately get to keep the item they properly identified. This is a great game for a family on a budget but that still wants to do something special for the holidays.

Another game to play is Holiday gift exchange. Everyone buys a small gift for $10 to $20. Then on Christmas day everyone can pick a gift. The first person can only pick a gift. The next person then has the option to pick a gift from the pile or steal one from any of the people that preceded him or her. The person who has his or her gift stolen can pick a new one. In this way everyone gets a present and can still gun for what looks like good gift picks. After all is done then everyone can open up their gifts and see what they got.

You can also have Holiday Bingo. Make scorecards with pictures or the names of favorite holiday characters. Then have someone to randomly call out holiday characters. The first person to get a Bingo and say so will get a prize. It can be opening the first present or getting to choose an activity for Christmas day.

You can also play Dirty Dice Secret Santa. Like many Secret Santa games everyone buys gifts anonymously. A dice and time set for 15 minutes is part of the game. In the first round all the guests start rolling the dice. If they get doubles they can pick one gift from the pile or steal it from another person. In this phase of the game if a person gets double they can also steal back their stolen presents. When everyone has a present, start the next phase. In this one the rules are the same but players only have 15 minutes. If a person gets double sixes they can steal a gift without any reprisals. The person with the most gifts wins.

You can also have your children receive a personalized letter from Santa. This can be customized with your children's good deeds and be marked with a special North Pole Post Mark.

Flight Schools Overview - Learn To Fly and Pilot Training

By Bruce Hogan

When you look up to the sky and see that plane just gliding along amongst the clouds it looks easy doesn't it? Well it is for a highly qualified trained pilot. It certainly something anyone can attain provided they are willing to put the time and effort into learning and qualifying at what it takes to become a pilot.

If you love to fly and really are thinking about becoming a pilot then put yourself to a mini test. Call around some of the local flight training school and see who offers an introductory flight. It will cost you about an hour of your time and $50. Out of your budget but at least you will get a good idea if you want to pursue the idea of flying. It is like a try and see type test.

After your little test and you are even more adamant to become a Pilot then the next step is are you medically fit to do so? You may think you are but you need the confirmation of an aviation Doctor to put this in writing by way of a medical certificate. You will only come by this once you pass their medical examination successfully. This is a Class 1 if you are planning to become an airline pilot or a class 3 for recreational piloting. This is the medical certificate that the FAA insists on. Once this is completed, you are ready for the next step.

You also need to understand what privileges and restrictions apply to the various Pilot licenses. For example for the Private Pilot license, you will be allowed to fly for recreational purpose only. You can never accept money for the duties of a pilot with this license.

Obtaining your license as we said will require several commitments. First, you have to consider the time that will be involved. If you can allot time for at least one to two week consistently on a weekly basis for your lessons then you should be ok. Each lesson averages about 1 to 2 hours each, so it is not demanding a horrendous amount of your time. You will also need to give serious thought to the cost as well, which could be anywhere between $4-$5000 depending on the economy. With price of fuel, escalating there will no doubt be a rise in flight tuitions. Its also help to count on a little extra for unforeseen expenses such as opting for extra flying time. This is in case you are having difficulty with some segments of your flying.

Sometimes individuals will enter a course with the bare minimum amount of money thinking that they will complete their course in half the time and safe some money. It does not work that way with flight training. It is mandatory that you spend a specified amount of hours on your training and there is no deviation or flexibility in this. If you have not completed the specified hours you will not even qualify to take the final test.

If you follow a consistent time schedule, you can complete your course somewhere between 3-6 months. Of course, this is dependant on how many lessons and flight time you complete in a week. Moving on from a Private Pilots license can take you into commercial flying and several other types of flying careers.

Santa Claus Christmas Cards to Deliver Your Message of Holiday Cheer This Season

By Jeniffer Beckersen

Santa Claus is a relatively modern invention, only about 200 years old in his current form. Over that time his appearance has changed somewhat, but the universal message of good will of this symbol has not. Greeting card designers continue that tradition with Santa holiday cards to suit every taste that still offer the joy that only Santa can bring.

The Vintage Santa Christmas greeting card is an ideal selection for those who love the old styles. Santa holds aloft your card and says a friendly hello to all your friends and family. The drawing might have come straight from a last century's newspaper. Still, the message has remained the same and your loved ones will delight in this jolly design.

The Modern Santa Christmas Greeting Card design offers three Santas for the price of one. Santa Claus jumps for joy as he prepares to deliver gifts to the whole world. Soon, he'll be off on his rounds, carrying bags stuffed to the max with toys for all the tots around the globe.

Christmas just wouldn't be the same without sweets, would it? The Santa's Sweets Holiday Card design provides the ideal way to deliver your tasty message. Spend a few minutes devising some delicious thoughts for your loved ones and turn your words into a greeting card masterpiece. This card's seasonally-colored stockings are hung from the mantle and there's one for everyone. Fill them with feelings of joy at this special time of year.

The Santa's Sparrow Christmas Photo Card features one of the little creatures that help him bring good cheer to all. No, it's not an elf. A little red bird sitting in a delightful tree sings out a joyful tune to motivate Santa Claus to hurry on his rounds. Use the image area to feature a portrait of your little one eagerly awaiting his arrival.

Ah, someone has just spotted the jolly fellow! The Santa's Ride Holiday Greeting Card displays the jolly old soul using helium instead of a sleigh this year. He floats off using reindeer balloons speeding to the home of whomever gets this card to deliver gifts. This charming drawing is the ideal way to bring a little cheer to your friends and family during this special time of year. Match the charming spirit of that delightful idea by dreaming up some equally fun text. Support Santa's fun new method of transportation with a fun anecdote.

Turn Back The Hands Of Time With Retro Sweets

By Michael Parker

We are considered very fortunate today because in terms of food and drink, we are presented with so many choices that we sometimes don't even know which ones to pick. As our technology progressed, so did the various selections of foods such as sweets, sodas, pastries and so much more. It is very thrilling to think that whenever we crave for them, we can find them anywhere such as the grocery, the store at the corner, and online shops.

No matter what kinds of food we love, we can surely find something as we have so many choices. We can have them in different sizes, colors, shapes, and even which country they should come from.

Using the wonders of express mail, we can try the foods of places we have only read about. Whether we want glistening yellow mangoes of Asia, bittersweet chocolates in sweet hampers from Africa or creamy cheeses of Europe, we can have them fast.

But that's for us children of the new generation. As we partake in nostalgia these amazing products of our time, have we ever wondered how it is during the time of our grandparents? Have we ever shown them these delicious treats we are enjoying now? Will they, too, be nostalgic when they taste the sweetness of our modern treats? Our grandparents are young once. They too went through the same phase we are in today. So what is it like during their time? How are sweets different then from now?

Only our grandparents can answer our wondering. We can ask them what they felt back then. Or we could guess it through their expressions as they remember the wonders of their young life, a life where they would happily dig in to the colorful sweet treats inside sweet hampers. We can keep on asking them or we can experience it ourselves. By indulging in sweet hampers filled with retro sweets, maybe we can get a glimpse of how our grandparents felt before.

Christmas Gift Baskets for Everyone

By Juliette Crane

The holidays conjure up all sorts of feelings in people. For families that have experienced happy harmonious celebrations the holidays are something to look forward to.

I made a few some years back and I found the process to be exhausting. The two Christmas food hampers that I made were not well thought out and I just didn't have the organizational skill to make the best use of my time and efforts. I thought that my days of making Christmas food hampers for the holidays were over before they really began.

I have been fortunate to have wonderful memories of Christmas' past. My family had many wonderful traditions involving gift giving, baking, visiting relatives and friends and of course attending religious services. Now that I am an adult I continue to see Christmas as a magical time.

Party stores carry a huge selection of tissue wrapping. Just go take a look at the myriad possibilities. You'll find a suitable paper for everyone on your list. Cellophane wraps and confetti products are other choices for a festive lining for your basket.

Now I continue to give Christmas gift baskets because the recipients look forward to the homemade goodies they contain. Because not having funds is not longer a factor for me I use the best ingredients in my food items and high quality materials in the craft items.

I have to admit that this is not in keeping with my Scottish heritage, though. I really should go out and try to find the best deals on the items that I use to fill the Christmas food hampers but that will come in time. I think that I need a little online practice first.

Herbal seasonings and natural remedies are very popular now. Go to a bookstore or library and get a book of seasoning recipes. Visit an herb store to purchase your selected ingredients. The party store or craft shop can furnish attractive small bags or spice jars to contain your creations. Buy or make labels for each container, with a short description of compatible dishes. For example, "Excellent with potato salad, omelets or salad." Many common culinary herbs have medicinal value. Rosemary and garlic are good for your heart. Thyme is a natural antibiotic and antiseptic. Ask at the herb store to learn which of your selected herbs has medicinal value. Take notes. This Christmas gift food basket idea is a good choice for a cook or health-conscious recipient

Use your imagination and let the ideas fly. You can make an elegant Christmas food gift basket for everyone on your list. Remember, it's Christmas, so pass the truffles!

Go On An Outdoor Christmas Lights Tour This Year!

By Cody Scholberg

"Hey, Mom, let's go to look at the Christmas Lights"

Most every Christmas season, there are Holiday Light Tours that drive around the city and the urban communities to take in the various styles of holiday lighting people have chosen. Buses of retirees from local retirement homes especially enjoy this every year. With the addresses of homes in the area that are labeled as "tackily lit", there is a "tacky light tour". It is a tradition for some people every year, usually the same ones, to have their yard just packed with figures of all types and sizes, inflated, wooden, kites, balloons, and lights blinking and winking all over the place. Of course, it's just a joke and those who do it are very amused when the busloads ride by and slow down to see their particular "circus". They're doing a great job for the lighting industry, but most people have reservations about their conservation of energy. I say if a little fun and enjoyment can be brought to the senior citizens, it's a good plan.

I believe they save the most beautifully lit homes for last and they "ooh and aah" over the winter wonderland that is contrived by these homeowners. After the light tour is over, they stop at a Starbucks for a frozen latte or for a hot chocolate at McDonald's.

Some homes stick with a traditional favorite style

Clear white lights, in my thinking, are used to decorate the most tasteful and beautifully displayed homes. The newest icicle lights make a grand showing on the eaves of large homes. In one instance, a home was completely outlined in the icicle lights ... the entire front. Because of the cost of installing these lights, particularly to that extent, most homes leave the lights up year around. There is an electrician required to connect them properly, and the cost of the lights is no small amount. If there is water anywhere on your property, it is a great idea to place these lights where they will produce a real show when the light sparkles on the water.

LED Lights; Also a good choice

The newest technology of LED Christmas lights was a great innovation. Some people even synchronize the blinking of the lights with some type of Christmas music for added effect. Another great feature of the newer strings of lights is that if one happens to burn out, the others remain on. Computer controlled lighting systems are available. Check with your lighting professional for specifications to use these lights. Most suppliers will have everything you could possibly need in their store, on hand, for your convenience in having a successful Christmas decorating experience. Sometimes there seems to be a race as to which neighbor will get their lights put up first. It's all in fun, though. Maybe you'll be first this year.

Christmas Eve Differs In Countries Around the World.

By Emily Latimer

Children around the world wait all year for Christmas Eve. It's a very magical and special time of year. Santa will soon be here, bringing gifts to all the good boys and girls...which is one tradition. But did you know that Christmas Eve traditions differ in various countries? In this article we will be exploring all the traditions of Christmas Eve. Welcome, we hope you enjoy it...

Traveling around the world can work up quite the appetite, and even Santa needs to have a bit of refreshment now and then. In America and Canada, one popular Christmas Eve tradition is to leave Santa a glass of milk and a plate of cookies. In Australia and Britain they prefer to leave sherry and mince pies. The children of Sweden are aware that Santa has a love of chocolate...so they leave brownies.

Sure, Santa needs refreshment, but what about his reindeer? Children love animals, and they are not about to forget Santa's little helpers on the big night. Kids from Australia, Britain, Canada and the United States leave a carrot to give those reindeer an extra "boost of energy". The children who follow the Dutch custom of sinterklass go a bit further...they also leave some hay with a carrot. Placed in a shoe before going to bed, it is replaced by a gift.

Reading books and watching television or videos have become a Christmas Eve tradition as well. One popular book is "A Visit from St. Nicholas" by Clement Clark Moore. Popular videos are: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, A Charlie Brown Christmas, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, or Frosty the Snowman. For those who like to sing Christmas Carols, popular titles are: Here Comes Santa Claus, Up on the Housetop, or Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

On Christmas Eve, children all around the world will put their stockings on the mantel. They are full of anticipation that St. Nick will soon be here, and will fill their stocking with gifts, candy, and "other goodies". Next they will look up the chimney to make sure that the "Big Guy" has not arrived yet. They will take a glance out the window to see if they can see a passing sleigh, and then perhaps unlock the front door (just in case Santa has problems getting down the chimney). With all the prep work done, it's time to go off to bed...

Once the kids have gone off to bed parents have rituals they need to follow as well. There are lots of gifts that need to be placed under the tree. Many of the gifts will be signed "From Santa" or "Love Santa".

Thanksgiving Dinner - Step By Step Planning

By Angela Tyler

Planning Thanksgiving dinner and preparing it can be very stressful, especially if you have a large family or are expecting a number of guests. In order to make Thanksgiving more enjoyable for yourself as well as your guests, some advance planning and preparation will work wonders. Use these tips to make your holiday a stress-free, memorable occasion:

10 Days Before Thanksgiving Day:

Begin planning your guest list at least one week to 10 days before Thanksgiving day. Call anyone on your guest list that you haven't contacted yet to invite them. You'll be able to plan for the serving sizes now as well as the place settings. Don't forget to add any special dishes that anyone will be bringing next to their name on the guest list. Also, make notation of any dietary needs next to any guests name who require certain foods.

Plan the size of your turkey once you have your guest list made. You will want about 1 to 1 1/2 pounds of turkey for each guest. Choose a bit larger turkey if you want a lot of leftovers. Decide now whether you want to buy a fresh turkey or a frozen turkey. You may want to order a deep fried or smoked turkey from a market or club.

Your dinner menu should be finalized during this time. Count up the number of adults and older children on your guest list. Adjust your side dishes to take into account the big eaters. You know Uncle Bill always fills up on stuffing, so be sure to make an extra casserole full! Don't forget to include a few special treats for the youngsters.

Thanksgiving Week:

During the start of Thanksgiving week you want to start stocking your non-perishable foods and pantry items. Be sure you have all the paper products, serving pieces, cutlery, chairs, and other items on hand that you will need for dinner. You may want to bake your rolls and bread now and freeze them ahead of time.

The Countdown To Thanksgiving Day:

With just a few days before Thanksgiving, prepare some items beforehand to save a bit of time during the final rush.

Things like cranberry sauce or relish can be stored in your refrigerator for a few days. You may want to cut up onions, celery, and any like items and store them in plastic ware to save time on Thanksgiving morning. You may want to prepare some side dishes the night before Thanksgiving; items like Green Bean Casserole store just fine overnight. Prepare your pies and cakes now, as well. If you have items in the freezer, they should come out now and go in the refrigerator.

Double check your Thanksgiving menu shopping list and make sure everything on it is ready and waiting in your kitchen during these last two or three days before Thanksgiving.

If you have children, involve them in the planning. They can help organize games for the younger guests, assist with decorations, and can even help out in the kitchen if you desire. Bring your special Thanksgiving serving platters down from storage now. If you will need to wash and iron table linens, now is the time.

Thawing your frozen turkey correctly is very important. Three days before Thanksgiving morning should be sufficient when you thaw your turkey in the refrigerator. Be sure to following the thawing instructions on the bird itself.

Thanksgiving Morning:

On Thanksgiving morning, stuff your thawed turkey and get it ready to place in the oven. Use the time table on your turkey and place your turkey in the oven at the time necessary. Prepare any side dishes now that you were unable to prepare last night; things like peeling potatoes, for instance. Schedule your side dishes in their cooking order. Prepare any desserts that you were unable to prepare the night before.

With some advance planning and preparation, Thanksgiving can be an almost stress-free occasion. All you have left to do is set your table and light the candles. Then you can sit back, relax, and enjoy a well prepared Thanksgiving meal in the company of friends and family.

What Type of Christmas Lights Will You Get This Year?

By Rhys A Hawkins

As we get nearer and nearer to Christmas, it's always very exciting to think about what sort of decoartions you're going to have this year. Many families who still have small children will definitely want to think about this properly because it's a brilliant time of year for kids. Christmas lights are probably one of the easiest things to buy but how do you ensure you're choosing correctly?

Christmas is always an exciting time, no matter how old you are and although there are some people who don't really mind what sort of decorations to choose, there are others, like you and me, who really enjoy choosing the best Christmas lights for their home and everything always has to look good.

Compared to the past, there are now hundreds of different options available and you should easily be able to find a huge range of options. However, you will need to think carefully about your decisions. Don't rush into anything and remember to think about overall colour schemes. There are a few things that you'll need to look out for when you're buying Christmas lights.

One of the most obvious things is to ensure that you only buy lights that are appropriate for where you're going to place them. For example, indoor lights are no good on a tree outside because they're not designed to work properly in cold conditions so make sure you only choose outdoor Christmas lights for your guttering and outdoor space.

Indoor lights can be used in the living room and of course, around your tree. You can use indoor lights in any part of your home. Just make sure that you think about the colour scheme for the rest of your decorations. Don't choose pink lights if the rest of your decorations are red, for example.

Take your time to decide on colour schemes. White, red and green are brilliant, and so is white, silver and gold. Just make sure that you don't choose multi coloured lights if you're using silver or white elsewhere because it simply won't work as well as other options that are available.

Fresh Ideas To Enjoy - Mini Lighted Outdoor Christmas Trees

By Giselle Taylor

I don't know you but I'm pretty sure you have one of those regal looking firs decked out in ornamental balls and twinkling lights in your living room right? How about trying something different this year? Extend yuletide cheer to the rest of the neighborhood by setting up mini lighted outdoor christmas trees-you'll be the most popular house in the street.

Several of these snow topped trees lining up your walkway are truly lovely to behold. As evening settles in and the miniature trees begin to sparkle, expect delighted expressions from children and adults alike crowding to see your front lawn.

You can get artificial or live miniature trees. It might be a bit challenging to get live trees of the same size and shape but you can go through several christmas tree shops that have a wider selection. Decorate them in small white worm lights and fasten bright garlands of tinsel or mistletoes around the branches of the tree. For the risk takers out there, spray paint the whole lot of them with glow in the dark paint or a sheen of metallic color to get people talking even more.

Synthetic trees will be more cost efficient for you if you plan to put them up for the following yuletide seasons. Decide on the theme and purchase the christmas lights that will complement it the most. There are many varieties available today-multi colored, solid, flashing, round and specially shaped ones. Twist these strands and space them evenly around the boughs. Hang attractive and sparkly accessories and secure it firmly with glue or clear tape.

Practice safety with your creations, especially for those placed outdoors. Tie the trunks of the trees with ropes and pole it securely through the earth. You may want to tape shiny wrapped boxes (fake gifts) under the tree to cover these guide wires. Also, do not decorate with breakable ornaments for these outdoor trees-between the weather conditions and lovable little rascals, you want your displays safe to see another season.

Before you go to the Christmas tree shops to get your supplies, have you marked out the spot where you want to place them? Is it cleared and near enough a power outlet for the extension cords to be plugged in? Ensure that these extension cords are safely covered to avoid being stepped on; or at least have a sign to warn passersby so they do not trip or crush them inadvertently.

You can also get some of those pre-lighted displays. They are battery operated and many are even timer controlled so you don't need to go out into the cold to turn them off at night. More importantly, you do not have to worry about the sometimes confusing electrical requirements of these decorations. Research and order these mini lighted outdoor Christmas trees by clicking on specialty sites that offer them online.

When formerly you had a roomful of family members to share your love for the holidays, now you are sharing with a much wider circle of potential friends. For every individual fortunate enough to have crossed your lighted path-they were just gifted with a piece of your beautiful Christmas spirit. Enjoy your holidays, you deserve it.

The Top Picks For Finest Christmas Toys This Year Are?

By Faye Thompson

Ho Ho Ho...Christmas time is here. Time to bake those cookies and trim the tree, and figure out the finest Christmas toys for those special boys and girls. With so many choices out there, what do you do? Do you randomly search the web hoping to come across a find? Do you quiz all the boys and girls in the neighborhood hoping to find out what's in demand this year? No need to go to these lengths...we are here to help you out. Here are three finds we have come across. We think you will like them:

It seems that everywhere we go these days "Guitar Hero" is there as well. It seems that every boy and girl is playing this game these days. It's basically a game where you listen to your favorite songs, and click on this little input device in rhythm with the lyrics (very simplistic I realize). With so many kids addicted to this game, what are they supposed to do when they are away from home? "Miniature Guitar Hero" is here to provide some relief. In a nutshell, it's a miniature version of the real thing. Battery operated, it's only 6" long, and with a fold-down neck for easy transport, you can take it almost everywhere (but not underwater). It has 5 wav tone buttons and a "whammy bar" to sustaaaaaaaain those long notes. It comes packed with some of the hit songs from Guitar Hero I and Guitar Hero II...songs like: (1) Smoke on the Water, (2) Killer Queen, (3) You've Got Another Thing Coming, (4) and Surrender. If you are just a beginner, or a real pro, this little item will be able to fit your level...it has 5 levels of play available. Be sure to give this little gem a look over...

I sure wished I had this sort of a thing when I was a kid...a remote control helicopter. Having said that, I REALLY wish I'd had this particular type of remote control helicopter. What type is that you ask? The Havoc Heli Laser Battle 2 RC Helicopter Pack takes RC helicopters up to a whole new level. What level is that? The dogfight level, that's what. Each of these little helicopters is equipped with a laser and an infrared sensor. With a direct hit to an opponent's infrared sensor via your on-board laser, you can send it crashing to the ground. How fun is that? Beware though...the next time around they can shoot you out of the sky. At a mere 6.5" long, they can easily navigate around the regular rooms of your house, but they can also fly outside as well. There are three frequency bands available, so it's possible to have three friends operate three separate helicopters at the same time. It's ready to fly out of the box, so you will be operational in a matter of minutes...

Everyone likes to be recognized for their accomplishments...but what about those "almost" times? What if you have played baseball all your life, but have never been able to win the championship? What if you have entered poetry contests for years, but have never been able to win? Everyone would love to be the next American Idol, but so few of us (myself included) will ever be able to achieve this goal. No matter...we have just the thing. For every boy and girl who deserves to be recognized, "Build Your Own Reward" is here to the rescue. With the customization service that this company provides you will be able to create a special reward for every boy and girl through the following three, easy steps:

These steps are:

Step Number 1 - Determine the type of award that you would like to present (i.e.: medal, trophy or plaque).

Step #2 - Add a specific emblem or figure, and choose a color.

Step #3 - Personalize it. For example, you could say something like "To My Loving Son. In My Eyes You Will Always Be a Baseball Star".

The company who offers this service is a leading provider of plaques, medals, and trophies, and other fine awards of recognition. They have competitive pricing, and quality service, and have been in business for 50 years...so they know their stuff.

These are three of the finest Christmas toys that we have come across for this Season's Festivities. If you would like to learn more about these and other toys, including ordering information, please visit our blog.

Scuba Diving Vacations

By Owen Jones

When it comes to scuba diving, many swimmers are misinformed. They think that you have to be a competent diver and a strong swimmer to enjoy underwater swimming.

However, this is simply not true, although before you go scuba diving in the ocean, it is advisable that you have some fundamental knowledge of diving and good swimming skills. However, you do not have to be an experienced diver. After all, everyone has to go scuba diving for the first time.

Scuba diving is a pretty self-explanatory pursuit really. Scuba divers can be seen in many movies and in many theme parks. While the general idea of scuba diving is the same everywhere in the world, what you will see underwater is not. There are a number of underwater creatures and plants that can only be seen in certain countries. This is one of the reasons why you should book a scuba diving voyage carefully.

In Thailand for example, scuba divers are frequently able to swim with porpoise and sea turtles. This alone is worth the cost of scuba diving for many people. Aside from swimming with aquatic creatures, you can also spend your scuba diving holiday examining life and the environment underwater.

Just a few of the many sea creatures that you can easily see in Thailand are large lobsters, electric eels, sting rays and a large number of different kinds of fish. The fish found in Thai waters are very diverse because of the fantastic environment they have there, which includes natural reefs, sandbanks and wrecks..

Maritime creatures are unquestionably the most exciting part of scuba diving, but there are also other submarine activities in which to participate. For instance, many scuba divers enjoy diving along coral reefs. Coral reefs are not only home to a large amount of marine animals, but they are also great to explore. You will find it exciting swimming around the many different shaped reefs.

Having said this, unless you are an experienced underwater diver, you should go scuba diving with a qualified professional. These professionals are most commonly found by means of scuba diving tour groups. Scuba diving tour groups can be found all along the coast of Thailand. Scuba diving is a popular pastime among foreigners in Thailand, so you would be wise to book your scuba diving trips well ahead of time.

As well as booking a scuba dive with a trained diver, you can also take scuba diving lessons at most coastal resorts in Thailand. Many of these places also offer guided tours. Scuba diving lessons are obtainable as group lessons or private lessons. Private lessons may be a little more expensive, but many first time scuba divers find them worthwhile, in more ways than one.

To find accompanied tours designed for scuba divers, you can ask in local sea front bars, at your hotel reception or at the nearest tourist information office. Whether you have already selected your destination or not, you will undoubtedly be able to uncover local underwater tours or lesson, especially in the more popular Thai cities like Pattaya and Phuket. The things that you will see underwater will make your holiday even more unforgettable and make you wish you had started years ago.

My Grandfather And His Jeep

By Gregory Paul

My elementary years were spent in a rustic barrio in the highlands of a mountainous province in the Philippines. It wasn't that far away but due to road conditions back then, a trip to the nearest city would take about 6 hours and my hometown was 8 hours away.

My grandpa was a city boy when he was younger but later decided to live and embrace rural life. Once a month, he would take us down to our hometown on a long ride to visit our relatives. During those days when we arrive in the city, I would be dying with envy of the people who rode automobiles with rolled up windows and air conditioning. I would be dreaming of arriving in my hometown in an air conditioned car protected from the heat and dust I hated so much back then.

You can imagine how amazed I am when people would approach my grandfather and rave how awesome our ride is. They would say they can't believe how easy and quick it is for us to get to the city from where we came from. I could even remember then telling my grandpa that they would trade their brand new cars for my grandfather's old and reliable jeep. Are these people serious? What they have are brand new automobiles and we have a second hand contraption.

That jeep was purchased by my grandfather for a few pesos. It was pre-owned when he got it. He had it first repainted to a deep shade of brown to give the rig a new look. It didn't have comfortable seats so he found this seats from an old automobile and had it reupholstered.

The trips the jeep makes were really long ones and my grandfather always received rations and gasoline gifts from his company. Some were gifts from uncles who were so fond of him. He always had that effect on people. A lot of them wanted to please my grandfather. The original gasoline tank just wouldn't do so he had found a tank from a big truck and had it installed under the front seats and it occupied the whole row.

Grandpa had leather roofings installed on the jeep. He had a little electric fan connected to the ride, and installed his portable miniature television set to it. Despite me wanting a new car so much back then, I have to admit we did have an awesome ride.

The jeep stayed with us since I was in the third grade. When I was leaving for the capital to attend college, grandpa took me to the airport in the jeep. By then the jeep had served us for a decade already. When I cam home after graduation, my grandpa was too old to make the trip already. The jeep was still serving him at the time though.

The jeep might have been owned by somebody else before we had it, but it gave to us service that no other vehicle of ours to this day ever did. It has exceeded all expectations and the amount of memories we had in that jeep is by far more precious than any other rig we ever had.

Truly, used cars if loved and cared for can prove to be of greater value than new ones. Ours was by far the most precious ride of all.

Great Tips for Your Voyage to Antarctica

By Jacob Graham

When people take a cruise others immediately think they are going to someplace tropical where there are lots of palm trees and beaches. Summer finds many daredevils going to the north to look at wild animals and take in a different setting. The braver sets often move to the other extreme and choose places that are completely different. Is not this year a great time for traveling to Antarctica? Read on to learn why you should pencil in an Antarctica cruise for your upcoming vacation.

Antarctica has remarkably remained free of human manipulation. It is where different wildlife converges and awesome scenery can be witnessed. Do not be quick to disregard a trip to this White Continent as there are lots of benefits tied to Antarctica travel. This vacation destination lets you in on a fun trip while also providing you with a ton of information about the place.

The place is freezing cold but this is not to say that no animal can withstand such conditions and survive. Whales breaking the water surface and busy seals along with penguins on land can be observed many times during a cruise to Antarctica. Many deem the period covering December to March as the perfect time of the year for looking at wild animals.

The ride to Antarctica is not only filled with amazing sights along the way but it also includes an extraordinary look at the wildlife. You will see breathtaking icecaps and lots of whales gliding through the water plus other spectacles while heading south to this continent. The icy waters spanning hundreds of miles will also leave you in awe. There is comforting calm gained from a slow sail to the arctic that cannot be found elsewhere on earth and is just punctuated by occasional wildlife noises.

If you decide an Antarctica cruise is for you, prepare to take a longer journey than other cruises offer. Ten days is the typical minimum length of the cruise but some trips can last upwards of three weeks. There is also the travel time to get to your debarkation point, which is often in Argentina or an equally exotic locale. However, the time spent on one of these vacations provides plenty of opportunity for relaxation, adventure and education. Most Antarctica cruises have ongoing seminars and classes that teach you about the place even while visiting.

Antarctica trip schedules are irregular and ships are made small because of the rugged ride ahead so it can only hold a limited number of passengers. Although most cruise ships can take around a hundred people those that are smaller cannot. Cruise travel programs are generally made for November until March as the remainder of the year offers less favorable climes. If you can book Antarctica travel cruises now please do so.

In a sense the small cruise vessel makes it possible for you to get to know fellow guests and make the long trip more meaningful. There is usually fine dining as well as spacious rooms found aboard such ships. Popular cruise companies have ships that sail to Antarctica so you pretty much know what lies ahead for you regarding service and comfort should you decide to go. People interested in viewing rugged Antarctica scenes and wildlife closely should shop for a cruise liner that has plenty of such adventures to offer.

It is truly an experience that has no equal to travel to Antarctica. Those who wish to go to Antarctica should book reservations ahead of time to avoid getting stuck with hellish itineraries and awful rooms. Once everything is ready you can start looking forward to a vacation you will not soon forget.

Be a Hero This Holiday With These Hot New Christmas Yard Decorations.

By Jay Boyer

2009 has been a difficult year in many ways, but it hasn't dimmed my spirits for the holiday season. In fact, I am looking forward to the Holidays even more this year, and I can't wait to see the houses on my block lit up with colorful Christmas yard decorations.

My wife tells me that every year I am unpacking our boxes of outdoor decorations earlier than the year before. When I was a kid, my father used to set them up like clockwork the first Saturday after Thanksgiving...rain or shine. But today, you can see stores like Home Depot setting up their Christmas displays even before Halloween.

If you are in the market for some new Holiday decorations this year, get ready to be surprised! You will have many new choices this year-- From solar powered outdoor lighting, to LED animal displays with thousands of lights...and from 3-D holographic holiday images, to an amazing selection of inflatable Christmas displays, you will find plenty of new Christmas yard decorations to fit every style, theme, and budget.

However, I recommend that you take a moment to carefully plan your new holiday display before purchasing any new Chistmas yard decorations. This will ensure that your new display will not turn your jolly wife into the Grinch...Instead, you will be the hero this holiday as your friends and family admire your new and improved Holiday display.

Here is a the first question that you need to answer: do you have access to electricity in your front yard? If yes, terrific! You're in business! But if you don't, you actually have a few options available to you:

1. You will be surprised how may Christmas yard decorations do not require the use of electricity at all, including plywood figurines and cutouts, nativity scenes, bows, garlands, and large Christmas tree ornaments. Decorations like these are actually used quite often in combination with electrical decorations so that they are visible during daylight hours.

2. Thanks to new technology developed in the North Pole, you can find many new solar-powered decorations like string lighting available in 2009...These are also great for to lighting up trees and shrubs far away from the house.

3. My dad was famous for stretching out three hundred feet of extension cord to light a tiny tree in our back yard...I don't recommend this, but if this is your only option please use a heavy-duty cord!

If power is not an issue, then you can get started with some simple string lighting. Start small by lighting a few trees in the front yard. You'll also get lots of curb appeal by installing net lights over shrubs and bushes near the house. Icicle lighting looks terrific hanging from a front porch, and a Christmas wreath can really dress up a front door.

Are you ready to do something completely different this year? Don't know where to start? It's always easiest to begin by picking a theme and working around that...Here are some ideas for you to get you started: Santa's village, reindeer, snowmen, toy soldiers, Peanuts characters, candy canes, gingerbread cookies, etc...You can even brainstorm with your kids and have some fun with it!

Are you going with colored lights, or will you keep it traditional with only white string lighting? Traditional or contemporary? By the way, it's a good idea at this point (ahem) to consult your spouse before making any big decisions about what the front of the house will look like for three months out of the year.

And here's the last word on buying your new Christmas yard decorations...You get what you pay for. Today you can find decorations manufacted in dozens of countries to various -- and often poor -- quality standards. Often these products do not even come with a UL electrical rating. Therefore, if you find an mechanical Santa being sold at an amazing price from an unknown vendor online, you may have good reason to be suspicious about the quality and safety of this product.

Most importantly, have some fun this year with your Christmas decorating! And I wish you and your family all the best for this Holiday season, and here's hoping that 2010 brings you much happiness and prosperity.

By Amy Wallermen

Anyone gets excited about going on holiday whether it is a local, regional or international destination. And because of this excitement so many people seek out the first travel agent they can find and go with the first package they get offered. This is where holidays start getting ridiculously expensive and holiday deals come into play.

The moment that you have to take a flight thought, this is when you are likely to pay more attention to the cost. As you are no doubt aware, there is the aspect of the flight charges, airport tax and loads of other aspects to take into account.

Making sure of your budget is the most important thing when it comes to your holiday. You would be well advised to have a look at a variety of places that you could visit and then find out which one is most likely to suit your budget. It is a good idea to do this as early as possible and then you can look forward to getting the right holiday package just for you.

So now you have decided where you are going to go on holiday, the next step is to figure out just how you are going to get there. The internet is now a great tool that you can use to find out all the information that you need to plan the best holiday. Sticking with tradition is sometimes a good idea and this way you could find out about some great deals by talking to travel agents. They could point out an instance where the price of a flight ticket is inclusive of airport taxes.

The inclusion of meals such as breakfast or dinner in the price of your accommodation is another way that these agents could find you the best deal.

It is important to not fall for the first deal that one is offered. Ask the travel agent or in a time when information is just a mouse click away, go online and compare the prices of different airlines, transport companies, hotels and even restaurants that are in the area. 6 Great Holiday Destinations in Turkey

By Morten Elm

Turkey has everything you need for a great summer vacation. The sun normally shines the whole day, and the beaches are perfect for relaxing. The nightlife doesnt stop until the morning, and the Turkeys kitchen is nominated as the third best in the world.

If you just want to relax, you can spend the whole day on the beach. If you want some action, you can try one of the water sports: jet skiing, parasailing or the banana boat. Or you can just play a game of beach volleyball.

If you get tired sun bathing, you can trek in the mountain. If you like it a little wilder, mountain climbing and ravine climbing is also a possibility. Other options are diving, rafting and sea kayaking.

Alanya is without doubt the most popular holiday destination in Turkey, with 10 % of all Turkey tourists staying here. The city does also have nice beaches and some interesting sights. The most popular is the 250 meter (820 feet) castle hill, which divides the two beaches. From the top you can see Alanya and the surrounding country.

If you bring your kids, a popular attraction is the Water Planet Aquapark. It is one of Turkeys largest water parks with everything from rafting and water slides to bungee jumping and crazy golf. Alanya does also have a lot of shops with both real and fake branded goods. The night can be spent in the many discos and bars.

Antalya does not look like the other typical holiday destination. The city has not developed from a small fisher village to a holiday destination. It is a large city with 500,000 residents, so you will probably see more locals than tourist. In Alanya you can combine your holiday with a look into the real Turkey.

Because of the size of Antalya you find a lot of shopping centers, shopping streets and bazaars. But the city does also have many interesting sight; especially from the Roman Empire. Most of them are in the old town Kaleici, where you also can see old women preparing the dinner while their men are playing dominoes.

Belek is the number one golf destination in Turkey. In the area around the city there are eight golf courses; and many more are being built. It has been so popular to play golf in Belek that it can be necessary to book months ahead in the high season.

But Belek is more than playing golf. Here is a fantastic nature and an incredible silence, which are not found in the livelier holiday destinations such as Alanya and Side. Belek is also a paradise for bird lovers. The city does of course also have fine shopping and several water parks.

Kemer might have the most beautiful location in Turkey. Surrounded by the Mediterranean and the Taurus Mountains is this special place. The city does have a unique mix of the real Turkey and a modern holiday village. The city has an elegant marina, beautiful beach promenades and lively pedestrian streets.

For some sightseeing you can visit the ruins of Phaselis; the winter location for Alexander the Great. Another great place (especially for the kids) is the 55,000 m2 Moonlight Park in the middle of Kemer. Here you find a playground, restaurants, bars, discos; and even a dolphinarium

Even though Kusadasi is the typical fishing village which has developed into a holiday destination, it is not the typical holiday village. Here you find some of the best restaurants and more quit nightlife (with only a small bar street) than Side and Alanya.

There is an international feeling in the city because of the many cruise ships; most of them come to see the famous sight Efesos (also called Efesus) near Kusadasi. So if you like smart cafes and international clothing brands, Kusadasi is the city for you.

The most romantic holiday destination in Turkey might be Side. You will find a lot of old Roman buildings in the old town. It is also possible to take a walk away from the main street, where you can see well-preserved wood and stone houses. Another interesting attraction is the city theater; originally used for gladiator fights, but today you can watch concerts and theater.

When you get tired of all the culture and sight, you can dive into Sides wild nightlife. One of the most popular bars is located among the ruins of two old temples from the 2nd century. Side has two beaches; the lively and kid friendly western beach and the quieter east beach.

Planning to Cruise Wales, See Holyhead and Visit Anglesey Attractions

By David Phillips

The growing number of people looking to cruise Wales as well as other UK ports could well see Wales emulating top European ports which are destinations for the big leisure cruise market. This is the conclusion of a report by the Welsh Affairs Select Committee of legislators in the House of Commons, the British Parliament. The report points to massive growth in the UK cruise market over the last decade or so, and points to an urgent need to secure a slice of this growth so as to strengthen the economies of Welsh port communities.

If you are an enthusiastic cruise traveller just be aware that before you make early bookings to cruise Wales there is currently some difficulty with offering suitable facilities for berthing at some Welsh ports, where the infrastructure needs to be upgraded to cater for the fast growing fleet of big ships cruising European waters. "Celtic Wave" is a campaign led by Anglesey with a budget of around $2m and covering Irish and Welsh ports, which aims to attract more cruise ship visitors to these ports and their economic hinterlands.

The Welsh Assembly Government in Cardiff has called on the UK government to support extra infrastructure investment to bring these ports, including Holyhead, Anglesey, Milford Haven and Swansea, up to the standards demanded by the cruise liner companies. According to the findings of ther House of Commons Welsh Affairs Committee, there is significant potential to boost local port economies and their regional hinterlands by maximising opportunities for people to cruise Wales as part of the UK cruising experience.

Over the longer term the prospects are for Welsh ports to emulate the success enjoyed by Baltic ports where there is an established and popular cruise market. From Holyhead in north west Wales via Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire and Swansea to Newport, Welsh ports can act as engines of economic regeneration when they encourage travellers to cruise Wales. In the summer of 2009 the first cruise ship visited Newport, and nearby is the Celtic Manor where the Ryder Cup will be held in 2010. Cruise passengers from Newport were able to visit the Millennium Centre, Cardiff Castle and other attractions in nearby Cardiff.

Likewise on arrival at Holyhead Port on Anglesey, cruise visitors can see some great sites such as the UN World Heritage Castles of Wales at Beaumaris and Caernarfon, Wales's only working windmill at Llynnon, Llanddeusant, and South Stack Lighthouse near Holyhead. And you cannot forget the 125- mile long island coastal path set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the remarkable Oriel Art Gallery and Seawatch centre at Moelfre.

The Welsh Assembly Government is offering financial support to strengthen the facilities for the expected rise in cruise ship visits to Holyhead, most notably to strengthen the jetty used by Anglesey Aluminium Metals (AAM), which offers an ideal anchorage and a perfect disembarkation berth for cruise ship passengers. When finished this improvement will mean this Holyhead Port outer harbour pier will be strong enough to take huge ships like the Westerdam, a 2,000 passengers carrying, 285 metre liner.

The future looks bright and exciting for visitors to the UK looking to cruise Wales as part of their overall experience, and Holyhead port will be ready to welcome them as they look to explore the many island attractions.

By Andrew Muigai

You will never lack something to do in Seychelles, a country where life is shaped by tourism. Options are many, from food, drinks, walks, cinemas and dance-halls, all ever set to offer the best value out of your time and money.

Victoria, the island's capital, presents a real picture of Seychelles lifestyle with the city portraying a rich culture influenced by French and British colonies and traces of Chinese, Indian and African. The morning in the city is kept alive by Victoria market and the diversity of inhabitants from all corners of the world. Clothes, jewellery and mementos can be found in boutiques. Though there are a few locally crafted items, most of the souvenirs are plastic tat made in China with a Seychelles sticker attached. The coconut derived products, hand-dyed pareos and silk paintings stand out as some of the best.

For the visitors passionate about art, Revolution Ave at the Kaz Zanana 'the pineapple house'-a wooden gallery offers wonderful pieces of art such as silk painting, watercolor images and collages that depict everyday life. Fiennes Esplanade located slightly in the outskirts and is appropriate for the visitors who may not be into flashy lifestyles. However many items here are expensive and it is the only place where some boutiques can be found. Camion Hall on Albert St was set up by the government to promote local craftsmen.

The best restaurants are found in themajor Seychelles hotels in the outskirts and they offer some of the best Cuisines thus suitable for the stylish group who go for something more in food than just eating. There is nothing tastier than a whole marinated red snapper or grilled jackfish even though generally Seychellois cuisine revolves around fish and rice. The most popular place in town is the Pirates Arms on Independence Ave. It contains huge, busy rooms with satellite screens to facilitate music channels. The food is not top quality but their toasted sandwiches (around6) are good. Meals are expensive even in the centre of the capital. A wooden jungle restaurant overlooking the Clock Tower with an extensive menu, Rendezvous has its main courses starting from around 12. Their cocktails come in plastic cacti and are excellent. A good view of Victoria can be attained from this restaurant since it has quite an open air nature.

Beau Vallon,a ten minute bus journey away is a better choice for eating, with points such as the excellent Boathouse, which specializes in a substantial Creole buffet that costs from 17 for two courses and all drinks, and the good Italian Al Mare.

Beau Vallon is the venue for the National Fishing Competition held every year in April in Regatta, offering the best in cultural events. Other cultural events include swimming/tug of war and yacht racing-all held in August-September. The Creole Festival takes place in October whereas environmental concerns given priority in November during the celebration of the Seychelles' underwater World, Subois.

Mainstream hotels are always ready with best entertainment for their visitors. Similarly; clubs, casinos and discos are never left behind as they are always alive and fun at night even though many tourists may not be keen on paying them a visit. This could be because most tourists go to the island to have the best of time on their honeymoon.

Pirates Arms again shows up as a choice that offers ample drinking in the evening. The service is friendly, being the main place to meet in town, but is filled with several slot machines that can easily provide diversion.

Though only a few hotels serve beyond midnight, live shows are common in most of the larger hotels ranging from bands to cultural festivals. Guests will from time to time be given a chance to participate in such shows towards the end of the performance.

Gaming houses stand out perhaps as the most thrilling entertainment in Seychelles. From custom slot machines to a trio casino establishment, the houses are admirable by all means.

Only one Cinema exists in Seychelles featuring movies from Hollywood blockbusters to Bollywood selections, French and Chinese too. An alternative worth consideration is the Hotel DVD libraries.

A vacation or a honeymoon in Seychelles will satisfy the best of mind's eye. You are assured of romantic dinners, excellent hotel treatment and unending stream of activities and attractive events to keep you refreshed.

Family Vacation Cruises to Alaska How exciting!

By James Steinberg

You have spent some time weighing your choices and decided that for your family vacation, you are going to take a cruise to Alaska. As soon as you decide on which cruise line you are going to travel with, you will be mailed out or emailed a listing of all of the offshore activities that are available to review. This is a great way to pre-plan your activities at each port prior to your scheduled departure day. In general, the activities that are scheduled on Alaskan cruises are geared towards the Alaskan culture. Some of the activities may include dog sledding, whale watching, panning for gold nuggets and deep-sea fishing for tuna and salmon.

Keep in mind that Alaska tends to have cooler temperatures consistently. Many of the cruise activities that you have picked will take place in less than ideal weather conditions. Make sure that you pack accordingly and pick your activities wisely. For example, you may want to avoid reserving a helicopter ride that costs $500 for a day that is overcast and cloudy. On that day, you may want to spend some time visiting local shops and markets offshore.

Socializing is a huge part of the whole cruise experience for many people! In fact, many cruises will schedule ice-breaker activities to being the trip with which may consist of a game or even a contest. These activities are not mandatory, and if you decide to be a spectator rather than a participant that is completely up to you! It is up to you how you spend your time on your cruise.

The ship's itinerary will provide passengers with useful information such as scheduled social events, activities, classes, information and locations of must-see scenic landmarks and most importantly, the scheduled arrival time of your ship to its intended destination. Many people follow itineraries in order to maximize their time spent on the cruise and outline the way they are going to spend each day. It is also used as a helpful guide for cruise highlights and news.

The food that is prepared and served on the cruise is an important part of the overall experience. Most cruise lines offer several different options for dinner seating times in the dining room as well as casual options such as cafes and bistros. If you have young children in your family, a bistro may be a better fit for dinner as you won't have to worry about getting dressed up for dinner.

Know More About The Downtown Charleston West Virginia

By Leigh Jackson

Charleston West Virginia has not always been a very well-known city to go to. Certainly, Charleston is very charming in an old-fashioned way. Though it's not the kind of city that thrives with life day and night, going around Charleston will tell you that the city has a lot of amazing surprises. In one way, Charleston West Virginia has been quite a taciturn recreation ground for adjacent neighbors and local residents alike. Anybody who's been to the downtown area of Charleston will tell you that it is one of the friendliest cities in the States. In addition to that, it also has a very rich culture and history. Astoundingly, many people are astounded by the treasures that downtown Charleston has to offer.

It offers a bunch of wonderful attractions to the visitors. It is highly improbable that someone does not visit the impressive State Capital Complex whether or not she is in the town solely for few hours. You are surely going to encounter the rarest Black squirrels over there. For the past inquisitiveness, you can head toward the State History Museum. The grandeur of "Lincoln Walks within the night" statue also interests the visitors. Variegated festivals in summer are good opportunities to understand the culture and life of people within the city.

West Virginia State Capitol Building

Similar to other states, Charleston's capitol building serves both as a stamp of the state's culture and as a historic landmark, which presents the colorful history of the state and the city. West Virginia's State Capitol Building is different in the sense that it is positioned by the Kanawha River and was designed by architect Cass Gilbert, the same person who designed the US Supreme Court building and the US Treasury Building in Washington DC. The capitol is not just a stunning landmark, it is also filled with the state's history and culture. West Virginia played an important role in the American Revolution and the colonization of the United States. This and a lot more will be enjoyed in downtown Charleston.

Shopping and Food

Charleston is also a culinary destination. It's got a very wide range of dishes that will have something new to offer. Whether you desire Mexican cuisine, Chinese, Japanese cuisine, or simply American food, Charleston restaurants definitely have them. Of course, let's not ignore shopping. Though it's not a very prominent shopping destination, it has some local crafts and arts to showcase. Downtown Charleston is surely a unique and interesting place to go to because it has limitless attractions and its residents are very warm.

Bandos Island - The Perfect Maldives Holiday

By Shelley Swartzer

I have visited 8 Maldives resorts in the past 6 years and I have now been to Bandos twice and I can honestly say that I shall be going back! I have tried to present an objective overview in this article for anyone considering visiting it, or who is not sure which island to choose.

Bandos was closed during 2005 being practically rebuilt, the resort that is not the island, and reopened as a new resort. The resulting resort is magnificent in my opinion. Being in close proximity to the capital Male makes the transfer to Bandos by boat short and sweet, which makes it very attractive to many holiday makers who don't wish to board a seaplane to visit some of the more remote islands. The resort has great facilities and is also very family orientated, resulting in what has become a very popular resort in the last few years.

As well as the sheer beauty of this island, the food and service here is top class. One of the focal points of the resort is the lighthouse restaurant, which has a white peaked spire, making it the only building on the resort that doesn't have a thatched roof. You will see the lighthouse in most of the marketing pictures for this resort.

The natural beauty of the island is coupled with great food and service here. The lighthouse restaurant is a focal point of the island, with its striking white peaked spire, making it the only building on the resort that doesn't have a thatched roof. The lighthouse takes pride of place in most of the marketing pictures for this resort and is split between two levels, with a lounge bar on the top level and offering panoramic views, and the lower-level haute cuisine restaurant serving a mixed menu of Asian and Mediterranean dishes.

Your first impression of the resort I'm sure will be a good one and this is raised further when you arrive at your accommodation for the first time. There are 3 room categories here: 30 water villas, 20 Baros villas, 24 Deluxe villas, and a single pool villa. The attention to simple detail and quality of the workmanship cannot be overstated, and walking into these rooms for the first time may give you the idea that you have walked into a magazine article for a chic boutique hotel. There are designer fittings, concealed plasma Tv, quality coffee maker, and more importantly for me, a well-stocked wine cooler.

Each room in the resort is never a stones throw from the beach or lagoon and all have a large verandah complete with comfortable daybed. If you consider that their is a very good 24 hour room service you wont be surprised to hear that I didn't need to stray far short of taking the odd dip to cool down or go snorkeling.

With a fine and easily accessible reef encircling most of the island the snorkeling is really good here on Bandos (yes I am actually writing this while on the island)!. The PADI dive school is very friendly and offers open water courses and beginners can try an introductory dive in the lagoon. There are more than 30 dive sites you can visit from Baros and with several trips per day even the most avid divers have plenty to go at. There is a Marine Biologist on hand to provide talks and accompany the snorkeling and diving trips sometimes to chat about the local marine life for those who want to know more.

It is difficult to beat Bandos island resort for a Maldives holiday that will not break the bank, go on, find out more.

Flowers Are More Than Beautiful - Flowers Speak Volumes

By Adam Fowler

Flowers can bring positive emotional responses besides the obvious beauty and sweet smells that they bring to your life. They can make you feel better about yourself and your situation. When someone is not feeling well, especially when they end up in the hospital, flowers will cheer them up. When a man courts a woman they give her flowers because it makes her feel romantic toward them. Flowers are used as a way of saying 'thank you' or 'I appreciate you'. When someone gives a good performance on stage they are handed flowers that say 'job well done'.

Giving flowers have been a clear symbol over the years of saying, 'you are someone special'. It is pretty difficult to receive flowers and not feel something very positive. Flowers are icons of something very uplifting, even mysterious. Roses are a staple for a symbol of love on Valentine's Day and something that will be long remembered when given during courtship. To celebrate birthdays they make the recipient feel happy and appreciated. How great is that?

The holidays are the perfect time to send the gift of flowers to bring cheer and beauty to family and friends. The holiday festivities are just made better and more glorious with the addition of the floral bouquet or centerpiece. Seeing them on the dining table makes everyone feel happy. Weddings are always full of flowers because the celebration is a very happy one and flowers bring more joy. The bridal bouquet is also an important traditional part of the wedding celebration.

You can never go wrong when you use flowers to say something from your heart. Flowers are symbols of a truism, a mood or a feeling. Several studies made on flowers have revealed that different kinds of flowers bring different messages and feelings just by their very presence. The baby yellow roses for friendship and the white roses a pure love or the red roses a passionate love and romance.

Different kinds of flowers tend to bring about different feelings just being in their presence. The lily is a symbol of purity and inner strength while the purple lilac is about the emotions of the first love. Sage is a boost for self esteem. White jasmine is for amiability and white lilac is for modesty.

Each flower is especially good at evoking different kinds of feelings. For instance, just being around the hibiscus makes you feel pretty and the sensitive person feels more sensitivity from being around mimosa. For the timid person, they will probably be drawn to the pansy. For feeling really elegant, try yellow jasmine and for feeling light of heart you will enjoy larkspur. For getting happiness back into your life the lily of the valley is your flower. The bluebell inspires consistency and the patriot enjoys the nasturtium. This one is great for the Independence Day celebrations. The rananculus enhances the inherent charms of a person while the gardenia inspires sensuality.

We all know that the rose is about love. For devotion the honeysuckle works well. If peace and silence are the mood then lavender will help. The rose-scented geranium helps with discernment in all things and the hollyhocks spur on ambition. If mastery and excellence are the goal then camellia is the flower of choice. To heal grief use the magnolia and the red poppy for consolation. For remembrance of someone special use rosemary and for a fraternal love use woodbine in your bouquet.

With all the wonderful choices in flowers available, finding the perfect match to your mood or for your message should not be too difficult. There is a kind of spiritual link between the flowers and the person which makes them such wonderful gifts. Ask your florist for ideas for the perfect flowers for your needs.

5 Fun and Affordable Things to Do With Your Kids During the Holidays

By Aaron Hu

This winter many parents will be looking for fun activities to do with their children for Christmas. As much as presents play a role in a memorable Christmas, it is the things the family does together to celebrate the holiday that creates memories that last a life time. Most families that celebrate this year will already have a basis to start on. It could be traditions passed down from grandparents and other relatives or simply a product of the culture they come from. The recession however, brings into focus that some of these traditions and holiday activities will have to be adjusted in order to meet the economic realities of each household. Fortunately this also creates an opportunity to try new traditions and make new kinds of memories. Here are some great holiday activities that can be a part of how your family celebrates the holidays this season.

A great idea is to have you and your kids make homemade Christmas decorations. There are plenty of guides online to help you and your family make beautiful tree ornaments and holiday decorations for pennies on the dollar. The point is that the decorations will become cherished and treasured as the years go by as they will symbols of the time you spent together as a family in the days before Christmas.

Cooking holiday treats are another big part of celebrating Christmas. Try making traditional holiday recipes that you parents or grandparents made for the holiday when you were little. If you don't know how the made them try calling them up for pointers or doing some research online. Then shop wisely for the ingredients needed. If you do it right you will save more money making them yourselves than buying them at the store.

Take advantage of the weather to have fun. If you are fortunate to have a white Christmas in your area then there are plenty of winter activities that you can partake in as part of the holiday festivities. It can be anything from sledding and skating to snowball fights and building snowmen. It does not take much to put together the gear to have a good time with your family.

Also try making Christmas Eve a game night. This is probably one of the few times when all members of your family will be home at night so take advantage of it and play your favorite games whether it is Pictionary or Clue. It will be a great time to be had by all and will cost little or nothing. The only cost will be to probably buy a newer version of an Older game. For example say you have kids who trouble handling the paper money in monopoly. You can now purchase an electronic version of the game that uses credit cards.

Another thing you can do is add a touch of holiday magic to your younger children's Christmas experience. Normally Dad would have to wear a Santa Claus suit and the kids would be smart enough to be suspicious that Santa Claus is actually Daddy. However this Christmas there are great services that you can take advantage of that will maintain your children's faith in Santa and give you cover from their suspicion. A great service is the letter from Santa. Your children likely send letters to Santa but never get a response back except for the presents the asked. You can now customize and order a letter from Santa that you can have your kids receive on Christmas Day. The letter is even made authentic with North Pole Postmark.

Flights - When On Vacation Can You Cope With The Fear Of Flying?

By Dorothy Yamich

If you have flown on commercial flights, in small propeller aircraft, or on helicopters and have experienced the fear of flying you are not alone. Millions of people worldwide who travel by airlines on their holidays and vacations have experienced the same fear to a lesser or greater extent. There are also millions of people around the world that travel by automobile, bus, train just to avoid commercial air flights. Some vacationers will take cruises if they are close enough to drive to the cruise line departure ports.

Incredibly, even though air travel is around thirty times safer than traveling by car, you rarely hear about people that have a fear of driving. Maybe the TV, radio, internet and print media contributes to this fear when they graphically cover commercial airline crashes and the subsequent large number of air passengers that are injured or die.

The fear of flying can be brought on by a number of concerns such as the fear of heights, the fear of takeoff and landing, the fear of falling, the fear of flying over water, the fear of crashing, the fear of flying at night, the feeling of loss of control causing panic attacks, air turbulence, stormy weather, terrorists or hijackers, motion sickness, claustrophobia such as the fear of confinement in the small space of an airplane cabin or being packed in like sardines with other passengers, as well as other phobias.

Some other symptoms of the fear of flying could be mild nervousness to extreme anxiety, panic attacks, shortness of breath, a tightness in your chest and chest pains, clammy hands, headaches, and nausea and vomiting.

If you think that your fear of flying is very severe, you can enroll in an intensive treatment program, However, if you're sure your fear of flying is not severe, there are some things you can do that may help to remedy this problem.

First, try and book a seat over the airplane wings, preferably not a window seat, so you can not look down at the ground. When you sit over the wings you will also experience a much smoother flight.

If you can, you should leave your seat belt on as much as possible, so if air turbulence suddenly occurs, you wont get bounced or jarred about as much.

Eat light and try to avoid eating or drinking any food or beverage that contains sugar, caffeine, or alcohol.

It will help if you try to stay positive and always think only of positive thoughts.

Try to occupy your mind and calm your thoughts by listening to soft, soothing music on your I-Pod.

Sometimes it may help to wear eye shades and sleep if you can.

You may feel less stressed if you can book a flight that leaves at an off-peak time as there are usually fewer airline passengers to contend with.

If you are thinking of taking any prescription or over-the-counter drugs to calm yourself down on your flight, be sure that you consult first with your family doctor or pharmacist. Keep in mind that if you are already taking prescriptions for pre-existing conditions, any new medication, even the over-the-counter ones, may interact adversely with them.

I have a true story that may help you with the fear of flying. A number of years ago a good friend of mine had a severe problem dealing with the fear of flying. His main fear was that he was terrified of dying in a plane crash. A funny thing is that he had absolutely no problem driving all over the country, or taking a Greyhound bus or train when he traveled on his holidays.

Fortunately he started working selling ads for a local community newspaper near a busy international airport. As he drove around to sell advertising to the stores in the area, he constantly saw commercial airliners take off and land day in and day out. He heard the loud roar of airline engines every day. Eventually he started to lose his fear of flying.

He finally made a huge decision to vacation on the big island of Hawaii, which he had always longed to do. The only concern was that he had no choice but to fly. He then bought flight insurance in case the plane crashed. He wanted to be sure leave something for his mother and father if he did not come back.

Before boarding aircraft he took one sleeping pill and hoped it would keep him calm. He intentionally booked a window seat so he was able to see where he was going and what the earth and ocean looked like from the air.

When the flight attendant told the passengers to fasten their seat belts, he cinched his belt up so tight he said he thought he would break it. All through the flight he removed his seat belt only to go to the washroom. During the flight to Hawaii the only thing that really bothered him was that his ears got plugged up and hurt because of the changes in cabin pressure on the takeoff and landing. A fellow passenger suggested that he should chew some gum and that seemed to do the trick.

When he landed in Hawaii he was very proud of himself! After all those wasted years being hung up on that terrible phobia he finally broke free. All it took was working near an international airport and watching the constant flow of airliners takeoff and land to reprogram his mind.

If you do have a fear of flying you must try and rid yourself of this debilitating, irrational fear. Your life will be changed forever when you allow yourself to soar with the eagles and fly anywhere in this wonderful world that your heart desires.

Visit FlyingWithoutFear.com if you would like more information on how vacationers as well as business travelers can lessen their fear of flying. This company offers you a free online self-help course that we highly recommend taking. The course is conducted by a currently flying airline captain.

Do You Need A Orlando Hotel Rate Quoted For Your Vacation

By Chris Linch

The Orlando area has a lot to offer for a family vacation. How can you find the right hotel to take advantage of all the area has to offer? The tips that follow will help you narrow down your choices.

Ask yourself what you are willing to spend. Whether you're looking for budget accommodations or luxury at $1,000 or more per night, the maximum you set will help you narrow down the options.

Cable TV, air conditioning, and a 24-hour help desk are fairly standard for Orlando hotels. Extras like a pool, jacuzzi, and high-speed internet access will cost more, as will money-saving amenities like a fridge, stove, and microwave.

In general, the closer the hotel to major attractions like Universal Studios and Disney World, the higher the price. If you will have a car, and if saving money is important, you may consider driving a bit more to get to the sites. This might be false economy, however, because some higher-priced hotels offer free shuttle service to nearby attractions. Lower-priced ones will charge you for parking and you will have to pay for parking at the attraction.

A good way to discover whether a hotel is right for your family is to read reviews on some of the hotels you're considering. Good reviews won't guarantee a trouble-free stay, but negative reviews could help you steer clear of pitfalls. You've probably heard horror stories about vacations ruined by anything from bad service to bed bugs, but user reviews give you access to the experiences of many more people who have first-hand knowledge. Travelpost.com is one of my sources, and on my website, you'll find a listing of Orlando hotels that get good reviews and offer good value.

If you do your homework, you and your family are much more likely to be satisfied with your stay. Your hotel can set the tone for your whole vacation, and the right hotel will go a long way toward making sure you have a vacation that you'll remember as one of your best.

Villas in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote: A Great Holiday Choice

By Miles Couchman

Puerto del Carmen is the longest-established tourist resort on Lanzarote, situated only about 10 minutes' drive from the airport, and remains as popular as ever with holidaymakers to Lanzarote. As with many resorts in mainland Spain, the start of its popularity amongst UK and Irish tourists dates back to the early 1960's. Prior to this, Puerto del Carmen was a small fishing village, a feel that is retained if you venture into the "Old Town" which still has much of this original charm.

The newer parts of Puerto del Carmen boast a multitude of bars, restaurants, hotels villas and apartments for visitors to choose from. There are also quite a few late night bars and nightclubs in Puerto del Carmen. Some of these stay open until breakfast time, and they are centred on the Avenida de las Playas (also known as "the strip") that starts from Fariones at one end, and extends some 6 kilometres to Matagorda at the other end. Most of the nightlife is at the Fariones end, but there is a good choice of restaurants and bars everywhere you go in Puerto del Carmen.

There are great attractions around Puerto del Carmen as well, including the relatively new marina at Puerto Calero - fast becoming a haven for well-heeled yachting enthusiasts. There is also a new golf course between Puerto del Carmen and Tias, water park at nearby Costa Teguise, and Rancho Texas, a wild west theme park. The other advantage of Puerto del Carmen is that it is quite central on the island, and you can reach other parts very easily.

For the best choice of holiday accommodation, it is probably best to review the many holiday villas that are available in Puerto del Carmen. There is also a wide choice of holiday apartments that will generally be cheaper than the villa options. Many of the villas in Puerto del Carmen come complete with luxury features such as private pools and hot tubs, as well as great sea and/or mountain views.

Apartments in Puerto del Carmen tend to be very close to the centre of the action, however, the villas in Puerto del Carmen may be set back a bit further from the seafront, are generally quieter, and more relaxed for a family holiday.

You can view a wide range of holiday accommodation in Puerto del Carmen at the All Things Lanzarote website.

Most Costa Rica Airport Hotels

By Mark Jara

You have just arrived in Costa Rica and leave the plane totally jetlagged - all you want to do is get a good night's sleep before travelling on to your holiday destination. Whereabouts are you going to stay? There are plenty of Costa Rica Airport Hotels within easy reach of the highway and not too far from the airport so, how do you choose?

Do you feel up to driving 7 km from the airport before you can get your head down? If you do feel okay to drive then you're in for a treat. However, rather than lose your custom, the Hampton Inn Hotel will come to the airport and to pick you. Now that's what I call service!

Nestled amongst the mountains at a calming height of 4,200 feet above sea level - and above any city commotions or intrusions, you get a breathtaking view of the coastline below you and a panoramic view of the countryside around you. Just enough to feel your jetlag melting away!

Other Costa Rica Airport Hotel is the Holiday Inn Express. I think this Hotel and the Hampton Inn ... Suites are probably the closest at just 200 meters from the airport - yet, inside the premises you could never guess you were so close to Juan Santamaria International Airport.

The Hampton Inn ... Suites is geared up to odd arrival and departure times and it provides a range of services that are specifically aimed at the international traveler. This Costa Rica Airport Hotel even has a reasonably-sized swimming pool for you to cool off in before you get your head down!

Of all the Costa Rica Airport Hotels, the Hampton Inn ... Suites offers the best services: it is the closest to the airport, the hotel is near to the drop-off and pick-up zones of most of the car rental agencies, the hotel is not too far from San Jose City.

The Hampton Inn ... Suites offers good quality accommodation. They offer great services and amenities, if you want to surf the web on your laptop, you can do it do for free with their complimentary high-speed internet access. Run a few miles in their fitness room, or take in some sun by the pool.

If that's what you want you would be better off going somewhere else. For me, though, this is my kind of hotel and, if I need to travel to Costa Rica any time in the future, the Hampton Inn ... Suites is where I would choose to stay.

Travel To London, Save On Hotels

By Chris Linch

You may think a trip to London is not in your budget, but there is always hope. Follow these tips to have an unforgettable trip across the pond.

London is a fascinating city, and she will fill your time with beauty and history. Take a ride on the London Eye, and plan out your vacation from the heights of that skyscraping ferris wheel. Make sure to visit Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, Victoria and Albert Museum, and so many others.

London can be achieved on a budget. There are discounted hotels waiting for the traveler patient enough to find them. These affordable places have spacious rooms with all the modern conveniences, even including internet access.

You can find amazing discounts simply by searching online. Take the time, shop around, and book in advance. If you can be flexible with your vacation schedule, you can find absolutely incredible deals, up to seventy percent off, by traveling during the off season.

Just because you are looking for discounts, that doesn't mean you can't be choosy. You can even find locations convenient for you. You can be near the business and economic centers, or near all the tourist sites, depending on what you're looking for.

Make sure if you are going to travel to another country you are prepared. You will need a passport, of course. You will also need to keep that passport at home as well as with you so make a copy. Leave one at home and give one to a friend. On top of that be in contact with your hotel in London to confirm you reservation and make any other arrangements you need. The last thing you want to do is get to a foreign country and have to go shopping for a hotel. As always shop for great hotel rates online.

Planning Gay Vacations to Bhutan

Bhutan has no LGBT scene to speak of; therefore, a gay vacation planned to this magnificent mountain kingdom would certainly not be planned with the intent of experiencing a distinct LGBT community or visiting LGBT establishments. Of course, this is not to say that same-gender behaviors and relationships do not occur. These activities are actually common and accepted and there is a significant amount of bisexual sexual behavior practiced among Bhutanese men.

In fact, bisexual behavior among men is not considered taboo and is a commonplace occurrence that does not affect ones identity. Languages in this region do not have words for lesbian, gay or bisexual and most of the men who would perhaps be defined as bisexual in Western cultures are monastic monks or are married to women. While there is an old law outlawing same-sex sexual activity that is still technically on the books, there is no evidence that this law, which includes the possibility of life imprisonment, has ever been enforced.

For the most enjoyable, fulfilling experience, it is highly recommended that you visit Bhutan as part of a gay vacations tour, which will provide numerous opportunities to experience all that Bhutan has to offer, while ensuring that you respectfully experience the culture and traditions of this land that has only recently opened its doors to newcomers.
